Last I heard CUSA was pretty strong with its 12 members. Of course UH is always looking to move up to a BCS conference, that said La. Tech is the next closest option, and logical. You never know what will happen when reallignment rears its ugly head. Man do I miss the days of the Southwest Conference.

I don't see LU leaving the SLC. They left a I-A football conference in the Sun Belt, I don't see them leaving the SLC again, and I would think football will be I-AA. No way they go D-I.

Is Humble Christian Acamdemy a new school? The only private schools that are usually really competitive are Strake Jesuit, and Wesbury Christian.

He will have his hands full no doubt. How successful was Dennis Parker before he won at Marshall. I don't remember Marshall being the type of program SLC is currently. He will be able to get decent players to win the Sun Belt title consistently, but I don't expect them to give Texas fits. Now the NOLA Bowl against Rice every year or two could be another question.

Someone posed on the this website that Stump was leaving also to go to UNT, but I haven't seen an official word. Looks like the weekly sports show can set us all straight. :wink:

Ford Park is out of the way, then they would want revenue for it. I always thought they should have built a new stadium instead of the ampitheater. I am for one centralized stadium, 3 teams, field turf, etc, like the one in Galena Park, or Aldine. I haven't seen Conroe, but assume it is the same. Its time to catch up with competition.

Is Lamar bringing back football any time soon?

There should only be approximately 6 weekend in question here anyway. Ozen will play 5 home games each season, and add in the West Brook/Central game. If you choose to go home and home between WB/Central that takes that out of the question. If Lamar soccer team is playing at home then Ozen plays either Saturday at 2, or Saturday night, whatever they want to do. If LU doesn't play at home, then your still safe on Friday night. Soccer doesn't do near the damage to the field as football does, so unless the ladies are worried about their field being damaged for the Sunday game it should not be an issue. If it is an issue, turf the thing over with new field turf, and there is no problem, plus that goes a long way in building a case to bring back football.

I have seen Fouts from the freeway, its probably one of the nicer in the Sun Belt, and on par with your non-BCS schools. SLC has one of the nicest stadiums in DFW from what I here, but nothing as good as UNT. Dragon Stadium: Fouts Field

So if he leave next year, is his prize recruit his son Riley in 2008, since he is a junior at SLC this season. BTW who does SLC name there coach, obviously anyone they want (Can you imagine the line of applicants)

Is that considered a lateral move? Or a step down, going from SLC, to UNT. No offense to the UNT program.

It may not take as long as you would think to convert the offense. Todd Graham did it at Rice, an I'm sure they ran more than UNT. Good hire for UNT if it happens. I hate that Stump is leaving but the hiring make sense, they are old classmates.

The Rice game is winnable. Control Morris Almond, and the have a chance. Rice did lose at home to North Texas.

Thanks for the update Coop, I wasn't up to date on scheduling, just saw the record and new expectation were fairly high this season.
