Silsbee seems to be struggling this year (3-4), any reason for the Tigers woes?

**December 7-9 Tournament Schedules**
JMay replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Aldine has one of the state top prospects, I can't think of his name though...any help out there. May be worth taking a lot at this weekend. -
In 5A height is overrated, in 3A where the numbers are smaller the bigger guys tend to dominate. If he has many skills, he and Donahoe could be licking there chops. He may be the ticket to the Drum come March.

Quality win for the Pirates, but after the loss against Lumberton and then Vidor, my bet is the Ponies drop in the ranks.
-
Congrats to the Pirates. Huge win. I expected a drop off once Coach English went home, but sounds like I was way off. Congrats on the win.

Anyone seen the Brook yet this season. I'm anxious to see how they hold up in their 3 tournaments.
-
After watching the Rice home games this year, its tough to find something close, but I think Central/Dayton takes the cake.
-
I didn't expect that this season. I thought his 30+ years in BISD would get him another year. Glad he was reassigned instead of dismissed. I'm sure he will still be around on the sub-varisty levels. He did that for years at WB, etc. Good luck to him.

What games you'all going to watch next weekend?

I heard on the News this morning about a new stadium being attached to the next BISD bond. Does anyone know specifics. Is the BISD "keeping up with the Jones"....Galena Park, Stallworth, Thorne, and planning to build a new facility for all 3 schools with field turf, etc., or will it be built at Ozen since they don't have an on-campus stadium. I would built one for all three at a neutral site. Scheduling is not a problem either, they do it at other districts. Friday night (7:30), Saturday afternoon, and Saturday night worse case scenario if all three are at home. BISD Athletic Facilities are not up sub-par when compared to other area districts.

Why are they playing the SLC Tournament at a High School venue? No offense to the Aldine ISD, its a nice place, just wondering if I'm the only one that sees it that way? :?:

I see your point, and I was a season ticket holder for 3 or four years and a die hard when I was a student and made lots of road trips. I was just curious what other thought. My dad is an alum and he always asks why its on the tube when its a big home game, b/c he thought it might hurt attendance some, but the regulars are going no matter what. I still wish they would do the road games on tv more instead of home, but then there is the cost factor.
-
Should be a good game between two old rivals. I'm just curious though, why is it everytime there is a big game, it is on TV. Doesn't that hurt attendance in the long run. Wouldn't you be more likely to go to see Lamar if it wasn't on.....Bigger Crowd...louder...home court advantage?? I always thought they should show the road games on tv, not the ones we can all get to. Just wondering if I was the only one that thought this way.

I'd have high expections, I think the JV went 8-1 this season. Couple that with this years group that didn't lose a game from 7th grade until this year (guess the law of averages worked itself) and your staring at the District 22-4A Favorite and quite possibly the #1 team in the "Greater Houston Area"

PA LINCOLN TOP 10 BASKETBALL PLAYERS FROM 1970 - 2002

I always thought Keith was better than Steve too. I graduated from WB in 94 and remember Keith giving them more trouble than Steve did. Also I thought Keith graduated in '95, before Jackson left. -
If only they could compete in the 4-A Playoffs. Can't belive TABC would make that blunder... [Hidden Content]

It was 30-3 with 10:00 to go in the first half. Could be a long season.
-
Running it shouldn't be an issue. It could be something you pay someone 20 bucks a game for doing just like keeping the book.

Central 22 Lumberton 14 Final/Comments
JMay replied to lonestar's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree with the dropped balls. I remember 3 straight drops that led to a 3 and out when they could have been touchdowns. That said kudos to the Raiders for haning in what I thought was going to be a laugher. Raidernation put a scare into the Jags and I bet the will only get tougher the rest of the way especially at home. Size and speed is lacking and everyone says Chelik (sp?) is the difference maker. Here's to hoping his return at least brings them a confidence boost on d. When will he be back? -
Are we counting Dayton in SE TX?

Um...lufkin

**OFFICIAL Mid-County MADNESS THREAD!***
JMay replied to GoDogs27's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Throw out the records in this one. Both teams got embarrassed last week. Not that either need any motivation for this one. I'll take the Dogs to make or break their season. If they don't win here there goose is cooked. Big Ned 24 NDNs 22. I think Moshier is the difference Friday night. -
On the State level can anyone touch Southlake Carroll? I doubt it. Locally looks like Dayton and WO-S are head over heals above the rest. Its nice to see The Brook back at the top after several years of "rebuilding"
-
Trying to decide which one to catch this week. Vidor/Lumberton always a war. Central d is tough and Big Ned has something to prove. What does everyone else think? Food is better in Hardin County.
