  1. If no one liked him, how did he last as long as he did? Because he played in the NFL. His offense was at best predictable.
  2. I thought Fuller was reassigned within the district?? I have heard that he didn't care much about being at Lumberton at least given his actions around the school, and if the didn't have the same schemes installed at his sub varsity levels then with all do respect he is stupid. I have heard that Vincent which feeds WB runs the spread offense and throws quiet a bit. Seems like Stump and other coaches are running similar schemes at sub levels and have been able to benefit on Friday nights. Maybe with Credeur L-Town is not far from making that change.
  3. PNG 21 Ozen 16 Wonder if the Ozen fans fight with the coordinators in the booth like the last time they were at the Reservation? What system is Clayton trying to install? He used to be a sub-varisty 9th grade/JV coach that relied on tons of talent to win. What offense is he trying to run now?
  4. Win out and have the Cards play .500 ball the rest of the way and they tie. It's a shame they didn't "wake up" until the last two weeks of the season.
  5. What is that on the Lumberton helmet....looks like the Texas Tech Raider mascot? (I know its a Raider)
  6. Sometimes coaches will play smaller schools to help with chances of winning. Lumberton plays a "soft schedule" So do half of the NCAA teams in the starts of the season. They have been able to learn the system and execute and win, therefore they have gained confidence which may be something that program has never had. Lets look at winnable games for LHS this year in district. Vidor, and LCM. Steal one from Ozen, then knock off one of the big boys and your in the middle of the playoff race. The coach knows what he is doing and LHS may surprise a few teams and sneak into the playoffs. If they don't and finish 6-4 the ground work is started for a winning program and he has created interest in it already. When is the last time someone talked this much about Raider football?
  7. Vince Young was a man amongst boys. I loved the way he would just flip the ball 60 yards down field. It was easy of the Madison WR's to get open when no one could ever catch Young in the backfield.
  8. All the Rivalry got me wondering what the best game anyone actually saw ine person was. I remember WB and DP in the playoffs a few years ago 49-44, last team with the ball one. Also Memorials playoff loss to Houston Lamar 57-49 was classic. Charles had like 350 yards and was unstoppable. But the one that really sticks out may not count to anyone else on here. I watched Madison beat North Shore 61-55 in the Dome a few years back, before Vince Young hit it big time.
  9. The 2000 Nederland/WOS game was published in "King Football" as one of the SE Texas's Top 10 to remember. The Dogs were driving to win the game with under 2:00 left and I think the lateral happened around the WOS 20. Great game.
  10. If you guys sell hats please don't make them the cheap hats where the top sinks in. That may have been what he meant by "baseball hat". I'd go for a plain jane t-shirt. You could also throw a couple out gratis at your game of the week, but I think we would all buy a white or blue tshirt with the logo on it.
  11. West Brook lost to Hastings in the Astrodome Ambres senior year. He was amazing against Mayde Creek at Rice Stadium the week before. In '94 they gave away the game at the Dome to Katy when Kendrick Bernard got kicked out on the onside kick, and Sellars fumbled on the two several plays later. The 94 WB team might have had the most potent offense in recent memory.
  12. Whatever happened to Butch Hadnot from Kirbyville. He was all-state and went to UT where I think he led them in rushing as a freshman, then got into some trouble, but I don't remember the details. PS - I always liked Ryan Cobb from NED. That guys was crazy, he was all over the field. Definately has a place on my ffb team, even if it was just for special teams.
  13. Should fight it out with Dayton and Central for 2nd and 3rd. I was not impressed with what I saw from Ozen. Central has great d and tons of speed, but the boys from PNG alway seem to get it done when it counts. Some call it luck...whatever it is they seem to get things to go there way. I'll take the NDNs to grind out a 3rd place spot and get into the playoffs in several low scoring district wins.
  14. QB - James Brown WB QB - Dustin Long PNG RB - Jerry Ball - WB RB - Jamal Charles PAM RB - Lendon Henry TJ RB - Leeland McElroy - Central FB - Josh Cook PNG WR - Pierce Pegross TJ - Didn't he play for ATL C - Calvin Collins - WB G - Frank Middleton - WB CB - Kevin Smith - WOS K - Kieth Waguespack - PNG It just seems to me the talent level was far superior 10 years ago...but still no more entertaining.
  15. "Texas Football" is the best hands down. SE Texas Football has seen its better days, but you still can't top a Friday night at any stadium in this area.
  16. PNG 24-7. The Indians will grind this one out methodically. Should be too much for the Tigers, but I'm hoping for the upset. Sounds like this should be the best match-up this weekend.
  17. If their offense can go vertical, they are in good shape to win district.
  18. The big test this weekend is for Big Ned in Waller. I didn't expect them to hang with Lamarque, and aside form a few busted plays (which is all you need I'll grant you that) they didn't. Lamarque ran almost twice as many plays as Big Ned, and ran out the final 9:13 of the game. Sounds like there is still a gap between the two programs. I'll still take Nederland to win district. Ozen showed me nothing against them so I'm still waiting on Ozen to step up.
  19. A little out of the way and off season, but the Reckling Park, (Rice Baseball) has the best hamburgers I've ever had.
  20. I like the hot links at "DR Hooks Stadium" in West Orange.
