If it was close and I was still a student I'd be there anyway. Thats what your supposed to do as students. I remember several trips in Conference Tournaments when I was a student. I actually don't think I missed any. Perhaps Ruckdad can help me since he was there. I made it to Little Rock, Lafayette, and Shreveport twice. Probably the best trips I can remember, its truly gets you in to March Madness, and God help everyone if you when a game or two in a conference tourney, then you start to "believe" you have a chance to crash the party, then eventually you do crash the party and celebrate on the floor with the team, student, and anyone that can put up with you. Sorry I'm flashing back to Shreveport and our last "trip" to the dance. ;D

Not saying I was against it because I was in Fort Worth when it was completed but there wasn't a vote to fund the facility to my knowledge. If that is true, bad move. I don't remember voting on anything involving Ford Park. We probably shouldn't bring that up on this board though. > ;D

They have a brand new arena that seats 8,000, maybe the conference wants to show it off. Corpus could be a fun place to spend a "March Madness" weekend.

Shouldn't it also be on Fox-SW? I also think you can watch the tournament on www.cstv.com through the "Southland Channel" I don't know if its free or not.

Just make sure to bounce back with a win tonight @ PV. That could be a trap game if you guys don't go ready to play. The PV baseball program has come a long way and has built up some respectability. I'll be keeping my eyes on that one. Best of luck.

That could be the makings of a fine SLC rivalry between the two. Another question comes to mind though....If Johnson wins another SLC title or two, would he be content to stay in Huntsville, or would he leave if a bigger program came calling? Just wondering a 'kat fans take since Johnson has been coaching forever and this may be a job he can retire in.

Very winnable game for the Bearkats. I actually like their chances and wouldn't be at all surprised with an "upset" if you want to call it that. That said, I'll stick with the Owls 6-3, but Sam is my choice to win the SLC this year.

That was a true thing of beauty last night. I was stuck watching on cstv.com instead of going. I hate the early 4:00pm games. UH had mulitple 6-run leads and the Owls fought back to win. Great game. I'm worried about their pitching and youth in the line-up, but they should be ok. Big weekend at Minute Maid. OU on Friday, Texas Saturday, and Tech on Sunday. The Rice/UT game is on FSN at 7 Saturday night.

This game scares me. I'm calling for the upset. TAMU-CC 76 LU 71. (I also picked NSU to win Saturday), so hopefully I am wrong again. Anytime the Cards go on the road I'm never very confident. I will say that from what I saw Saturday night and what I've been told all year long, this may not be the most talented group, but damn they play hard and keep at it for 40 minutes. I was really impressed Saturday night and hope the energy they had against NSU carries over.

Their top 2 starters from last year are gone and there are big questions about replacing them. They do have lots of expirence back in the line-up, so a run to a regional is pretty promising, however splitting with Northern Colorado to start the season is not what most people expected. I bet they lay it on McNeese tonight. i know, i was at the games this past weekend, and i agree splitting with UNC isnt very good but i still believe they'll come around and will be playing about the same time they did last year...hopefully longer Probably so...do me a favor...try and keep them away from Reckling Park this season. ;D

That actually goes in LU's favor right now. They are 11-1, while the 'Jacks are 10-2.

I can see them as a 15 or 16 if they win the tournament. I also think the play-in game is a long shot, especially with all the upsets that happen during tournament week. Does anyone think we have a realistic shot at an NIT bid? I would say SFA is a lock, but what about us?

That shouldn't be an issue once the BISD Stadium is complete. The last I heard the LU soccer team wasn't a big fan of sharing the stadium with Ozen anyway. What are the plans for Cardinal Stadium? Obvioiusly the press box will be re-done. Capacity should be fine for now I would think....field turf?? New work out facility? Anyone know what's supposed to happen?

I'll take SHSU to take the title. Former Aggie Coach Johnson should have the ground work set there this year, but hopefully the SLC can be a multiple bid league this year. The Cards lost a lot of firepower in the line-up, hopefully they can replace it.
