  1. My God??!!! I think Dove is a bigger Aggie than AAW... His TAMU history lessons are grade A!!! Take good notes AAW!!!
  2. Aggies and DV are both correct. The Camps are a big deal AAU games don't show scouts much but the AAU teams have certain interest grroups. Kids that play for the Houston Hoops, etc. have shoe contracts and contacts that allow their kids a little more exposure. I am not totally sure why Franks stock has dropped, but when I look at ESPN and Scouts.com Franks name is no where to be found. There is a thread on here from his sophmore year that I posted omn the site that had his name on the ESPN's top 100. Now he is like a ghost.
  3. Pirate ship washed ashore in Beaumont. Crew missing, only living thing found is a pack of Jaguars! The Brook wishes Ike had hit THIS YEAR, because Katy sure did! Memorial gets the upset, Kenny Harrison is legally allow to drop "XBOX" as a middle name. I did not know Eagles hunt Bobcats too! Nederland continues their downhill fall; right into the mouth of a Panther. Indian Chief get new name after being scene around town in a bear skinned robe!!! Big Chief Beat-A-BEAR!!!!
  4. This game will not come fast enough for me, even though I don't want to rush an minute of my life. The anticipation is so high. Trust me the Jags will come to play. This is a hard hitting team and I love the way they attack th eball carrier. It was amazing that for the first quater and a half of the Ball game they played horrible and then shut ytghem out for 2 and a half quaters. Tied it up by half time!!!! These kids are mmotivated for district play and they wont come out slow, they will perform!! Us as adults expect the kids to play on a high level every game and its a possibility that wont happen with teenagers. But these kids look really good and motivated. Good luck Vidor, Jags let's go get this win!!!
  5. The sophomore? Yes... The Junior this year! Yes
  6. where do they sell this sauce??? is it good on brisket??? and what does it smell like??? It smells like the tip of a Jaguar's toe after it has been taken out of a Pirates ship!
  7. Vidor you are a spirited bunch of fans and I know you guys love your school!!! As for the kids they have made great strides and look to be very competitive and hard working. I know the lineman wont quit on the blocks and the defense will leave their hearts on the field. Thank you for being you!!! We look forward to a mighty clash Friday. Remember that this game is at our home... This will be no easy place to play. The offense that put up 21 points last year was not a scoring offense, it was a possession offense. This years offense is a scoring offense and 21 is way too low of a number. The defense is really tough and the line backers are ruthless... We have seen a two headed monstar at PA Memorial that is probably the best running back crop in the area. We can play the run best!!!! So bring your stregnth and we will bring ours!!!!! [move][glow=red,2,300]PROVE ME WRONG[/glow][/move] Jags 28 - Vidor 17 is the best you guys can hope for!!!!
  8. Who is Cleveland??? Exactly....
  9. I haven't seen any young kids in BMT that has next level in their future anytime soon. Maybe Franks but his stock has been hit hard. From ESPN top 100 to a nobody on the recruiting scene in three years!!! The guard from Central could play next level too. After that the picking order is slim in BMT. Else where will have a hard time getting scouts to stick their noses in schools 3A and smaller!!! EXCEPT KOUNTZE! Everyone in Kountze should thank the Hancocks for that!
  10. There was one bad year in the mid 2000s like this one, and Boutte Panthers still made the regional tourny... But there was little talent here
  11. 1. Lumberton (they have owned Central for the past two years; Jags have to earn the top spot, they aren't just given it) They have owned Central in Lumberton... TWO YEARS IN A ROW AT LUMBERTON!!!! Hey Red Raiders... Welcome back to the Bsbe... Sorry but we are horrible host and usually the guest leave P.O.'ed!!!!
  12. This post will be hated. But Lumberton barely beat a 3A team that Barely lost to a 2A team last night. Sorry, i just don't think that Newton is one of the best teams in 20-4A, Lumberton is not either. Newton, I know you are good so don't get me wrong. Central Vidor PNG NED Lumberton LCM Ozen Livingston Back to the old order of the District with Vidor being the wild card, taking NED's spot!
  13. Ok... Ltes clear this up.... No way Vidor wins by a score of more than one touchdow. Vidor cannot and will not blowout Central. In fact, I really can't see Vidor beating this Jag team. It will have to be through the air because even with the allstar line, our linebckers have a nose for the ball. Becareful of the Jags in the second half, they play lights out after halftime. Vidor could try an punch the middle but the outside is out of the question... Central will win and score 28 points. A strong first half will give Vidor 17!!!! 3 in the second half.
  14. Tell you what>>> It will be a RUDE awakening!
  15. This goes to prove that their is a difference between 4A and 5A ball.. You guys need to except it! Lufkin has already lost to anither 5A team ranked 13th in the class.
  16. I have seen Duncanville fall to teams with less talent for two years in a row. Duncanville had more D-1 signees than STrake, and they all signed Big League, Teaxs, OK State, etc. The STrake guys outside of the one Marquette kid signed with Ivy League schools. These guys were as much student as Athletes. They had three D1 signees all seniors. Duncanville had 7 with only two being underclassmen. strake had one kid ranked in the overall top 100 by SCOUT.COM. Dville had 6 ranked overall in the top 100 in their respective classes by Scout.com. Truth is that in 54A and 4A ball the Big City Schools are the most successful, Metroplex, SA, & Houston. These are also the easiest cities for kids to get to the schools of thier choice. ONLY SMALL TOWN BASKETBALL HAS KIDS THAT PLAY TOGETRHER FROM LITTLE DRIBBLERS WHICH GROOMS PLAYERS TO PERFORM WELL TOGETHER. That is why the small school brackets have a dirth of big time competition from the smaller towns. Actually any good coach could attract a kid to come play for their program without recruiting. Rep means alot. That is why Wise put thogether a POWERHOUSE at Yates. The kids know he is a winner. Personal knowledge tells me that NY and Cali have been inter-mingling private and public school athletics for years. Yes they have created som private powerhouses. But there has been and will always be public powerhouses. At the high school level the game is about coaching, understanding, executing, decent talent, and believing. That is why the team with the best players don't always win in high school. The 2007-2008 Smiley team was way better than Wheatly and Yates with talent, but they could not put that together. Milby was ranked #1 in the nation with one Big Time D1 kid and One Southland D1 kid. That was over the private schools that are actually allowed to recruit. And they beat one of those 6 D1 signee schhols.!!!
  17. For every Strke there are ten Legacys.
  18. Just like Strake they can lose too. I doubt that private schools will take over in football or basketball. But they will add some competitive teams. Most team will be worse off in UIL.
  19. Dove this is a high school forum.
  20. If it is legacy hasn't taking advantage of it. There are more P.S. With bad athletics than with good. Just a many disadvantages as advatntages.
  21. Only privates like Oakhill really have an advantage. Kids still have to be able to afford private school. Not just tuitions bit transportation, etc.
  22. Just like Ivan McFarlin went to Fort Bend to play with Willowridge and so did Lanny Smith and those kids. Families move to put their kids in a better position. True it happens more in the Bigger Cities.... Most small towns don't experience this; but it doesn't mean it does not happen. DV has a name in the Houston area, kids want to play for him, they have the grades to perform in private school, and their parents want something better than their kids being taught TAKS 24-7 in some public school! As far as DVs topic I think it was a bad move on the coaches part, both in not believing in his kids and for being an inconvenience. I do understand his thinking but I don't condone his actions.
