I have nothing against Vidor, I respect the kids and the program!!! Excuse me for putting facts on the board. Vidor has not been a winning program regardless. And to say that they are better than WB (AND I HATE THE BRUINS) is silly. And to bet he they are better than WOS after a scrimmage is ridiculous, and they still have not beat CHS ever regardless of some close games. Before I rank them higher the will have to St. Louis me (SHOW ME) like the L-Train has done!!!! Ask the Lumberton fans I was just as hard on them!!! I know the lines are big and really good and I think this will be a competitive Vidor season, maybe the best. But until I see it in the win column, I will be hard on my perception of them!!! Hate it or love it!!!

Oh!!! And don't forget that this is the same Dave Campbell that has yet to put the mighty Vidor Pirates in his top 25 poll!!!

Nobody hates Vidor for being a winner because they aren't winners. It is a certain amount of disdain for this elitist statis that Vidor has given itself because of a preseason ranking! Central was picked to miss the playoffs last year by that same Dave dude!!! I say he has been wrong before so don't put much stake into his reasoning!

You don't know who is D1 or D2 until the playoffs. The largest school in the district that MAKES the PLAYOFFS is D1.

Forest brook and smiley in recent times never had great football teams. Smiley played good basketball and that is where it stops. Put that together and they are still doormats

Well I am a Jaguar alumni so let me try this out!!! Offense - B+ The offense is much improved this year and has plenty of different looks and sets to attck opponents with. However, their is still a lack of execution in the passing game thaty hurts and some wrinkles that have not been ironed out!!! The line is great at run blocking but still needs help in the passing game. The two RB's are truely A+ which helps the socre alot. The recievers are big and fast but need to hold on to the ball. The talent is their at QB if we give him time, but he needs to let go of the ball just a tad bit earlier!!! Deffense - A This team is the hardest hitting Jag team in years!!! These boys believe in bringing that hat!!! There are sure tacklers here too, that wrap up and carry through on the tackle. The front seven is really strong though they don't blitz ever down like past teams. This is more of a contain defense. Last year was big risk / big reward. Though 80 % of the time the pinned back ears blitz defense did its job, it left Central open to big plays which hurt them at tgimes. This D is a containment D with situatrional blitz thatreally addresses the big play. However the dbs tend to fall asleep looking at the QB and not WR. This is correctable, though... Special teams - C There is big play potential with the speedsters on special teams. The punter is good with distance and height on his kicks... Truely a surprise. The feild goal kicker is at best average but the ball doesn't always get to him or the punter. We really need to sure up the deep snapper. His snaps could lose games for the Jags!!!

No one is saying that Vidor did not play football... But it is different when playing decent private schools and WOS, Memorial, WB, Central, etc....

David Suggs is at Nimitz and I expected a defensive team, however their opponents score often. And they can't stop the run which doesn't look like a positive against Memorial's 2-headed montsar!!! They have allowed 237 and 418 yrds on the ground in the first two games, which is over 600 yrds total on the ground in just 2 games... Memorial wins big 42 - 7!!!! Worthing was blanked by 3A powerhouse Needville ??? in there first game and barely beat the perinnial Houston door step North Forest!! I like Ozen's chances to get their first victory of the season. Ozen wins this one 28 - 14!!!

I am going to repost this remak after the Central/Vidor game, when Central stuffs the run!

Most years Brook would be too strong in our district... It is just what it is. Central and Ozen (to no avail) play over their heads against Brook because it is a cross town rivalry... I think on down years Brook may have a tough time in district but I don't think they any less that a top two team in 20-4A. Too bad Brook doesn't schedule like Vidor then every team in the area would have a crack at them! (HAD TO DO THIS JOKE) Honestly they have the coaching staff and the depth to tear 20-4A a new one!!! I believe there are years where Central is competitive enough to beat Brook, but I also think Central has the best athletes overall in district! Some teams are bigger, stronger, none are faster, but Central is the most complete talent wise! Coaching is the final part of the Jags formula… When coaching is good they are great, when bad they are competitive, when horrible, they are horrible.

In high school it really doesnt matter. The only thing it does is make it tougher to gauge who a team really is. Only district matters and then the playoffs... Their schedule does no one harm. The only negative is not being able to play a top tier opponent until district and then the playoffs come knocking. I think there are advantages to playing above your head If your squad knows it is good even after a loss. The negative is that fans sometimes get false aspirations after their team trumps a weakling!!!! And let's be honest, top teir teams are looking for better teams than Vidor to put on their schedule. No one is beating down that door! Not saying that this years team wont be GREAT but all coaches have is the past to guage whether to take their team on the road and spend money to play VIDOR!!!!

WB - This team is no push over... This is the real deal! Central - hometown pick but I think they could take WOS WOS - nuff said Lumberton - I am a believer Memorial - This team will be and is dynamic Vidor - You will have to show me like the Train did these past few years PNG - I think we may see a good season from you Dayton - I think this team is still potent but Friendswod is just that good Newton - just can flat out play Jasper - theyre back! Kirbyville - yep Nederland - I am shooting in the wind Silsbee - The bottom of this list is still powerful BH - yep agin Crosby - a step behind

Texas has only went all weak recently. Texas tried to find a marquee game for the last four years and no one has stepped up so they have settled. Please do your research.

WB has sure tacklers for sure. Our RB had plenty of open fields where one player made a great tackle. The first play of the game had TD on it for Central but it was stuffed # 15, I hope that kid is alright because he did not return after a third quarter collision! There were so many good plays by WB defense... There were so many big hits by the Jags... Reyes is fats but he got hit too hard too many times. Great tackle on the last long run for Central, coach needs to tell that kid you can't stiff arm a player behind you, you lose your balance!

Great game, defensive battle to the end!!!! Brook played a great game and trulely made our dbs look pedestrian. The drop at the end was a heart breaker though!!!! I do wonder how a team can go from 3 penalties one week and have 10 the following... Not blaming the refs but the penalties seemed to come when the Jags were threatening. Three scoring drives were stopped by penalties and miscues really put the nail in the coughin on two others. I do believe the kids for Brook flat out won the game and my hat is off to them... I like my crow marinaded in lime juice, rosemary, thyme, paprika, Olive oil, and cracked pepper. Please no skin and bake it! I am on a diet.

Great game but truely a muse Central lost on penalties and miscues Hats off to Brook they played really tough But now you know the Jags are no powder puff. But Congratulations, the Bruin will retain the trophy and now I know at Babe you can still buy the referee!!!!!
