Strake had a good team and a great year, but there was teams with more talent and higher rated players that in UIL schools... Strake just happenned to play the best ball it could in the play-offs... Look at Duncanville, They had 4 kids in the National top 100 and one kid that is top 25 for this year and one kid that is top 25 for next year; all on last years team!!! They did not even make Austin. Strake isnt all that loaded just had good coaching and 1a well put together year!

Don't forget about the TASC for Texas schools... It is the placement test for Texas Colleges!

Well it was a practice so there is no winner or loser (just a beating) so it will not mean much. Brook will be fine and they will give the other teams in Beaumont some trouble in the bowl series. I predict WB will be ready by district time. I just wanted to mess with 85 because his comments were SO funny!

i thought they were a bit over-hyped a few weeks ago until i found out who they had coming back on offense. Lufkin can win state. No they cant, and they wont! There's too many other good teams out there that will beat them when it counts. They got lucky in this game. IMO, WB didn't play to their potential and Lufkin caught them on a bad day. They will look like another team against Ozen next week. Stump will have them motivated and in playing form. Granted, we are going to have some growing pains, and will have a few bumps in the road along the way, but Ozen is definitely no Lufkin. It should be a good game. 85... I know you are a fan but, "A BAD DAy!?' That was too funny... I died laughing when I read it... 21-10 bad day maybe, 14-0 bad day maybe, 30 - 14 bad day maybe, 46-0 is an a$$ kickin!!!! Their potential will not rectify a 46 point beatdown!!!

My team has its first scrimmage this week. But I still wouuld not put great value into a SCRIMMAGE!!!!!

last time they had a decent QB was in 07 london durham...but brook will most likely win this game not only because of the QB but because the lack of good athletes at ozen...i know its hard to believe seeing that it is ozen but they really dont have many athletes at ozen anymore its not the same ozen it used to be...ozen will struggle in football and basketball this season...rodney should really consider choosing better coaches if he plans to turn ozens football program around not saying that nelson is bad but i just think they need a real big name coach at ozen he needs to stop hiring around the area The statement in bold was the funniest statement on this board... WOS vs Vidor, scrimmage, and you guys are talking about winners and losers... Dayton vs. WOS and you guys are talking winners and losers.. OK the winners are the coaches who get a chance to see their kids practice against other first team talent. The winners are the young kids that get a chance to prove they belong before the season starts. The winners are the starters who get a chance to match-up with other players out there with plenty of talent. [/glow] Scrimmages will not equate to Ws or Ls on anyones record and in a couple of years will be forgtten, heck come playoff time if both teams perform well, those scores will be forgotten this year!!!!

Seen kenny last night and he has his game face on... Just hope it will be off week one, then he can ugo undefeated, I would not care then!!! I wish him the best, now is his chance to prove the haters wrong.... Or prove them right!

Newton Football or WOS football????

Just like they blew the last three BCS bowls!!

Yesterday a tornado tgouched down in Beaumont, TX. It blew off a couple of roofs, blew over a couple of cars, and blew debris all over ther place. This tornado has been named Oklahoma, [glow=red,2,300]confirming that OU blows as well[/glow]!

I went ten years because it is so hard to count life time... And I had the hardest trouble placing Newton... They have been pretty powerful at their level, but it was their level that influenced my pick... In all honesty they have had more overall success than WOS in the last ten years... But that would start an argument that I did not want to get into!The crazy thing is the Ozen equation... They have been in Big School competition with four state apperences, one championship, and 5 other regional finals in 2000's... That is a stat line to reckon with.

Central Track has been dominant in this area year in and year out for years but they don't get the publicity... So if you go by what we know and factor let's say ten years because Ozen wasn't open before then and Dayton had not yet become powerful.... Kountze Basketball is pretty powerful on its level and to me edges out HJ.. But Ozen is above it because Kountze would not have beat any of those Ozen teams head up... WOS football is king here and probably pushes out the most next level talent, but still has yet to dominate 3A since it dropped... Westbrook football is pushing blue chippers out the door but 5A competition is so stiff... This is an old message but I had to say something here... The Memorial Head Coach will not be defined by his first game!!! No head coach is. Lets give him a body of work of about two years before we judgew what kind of coach he will be.

How can a topic about Ozen last so long? Until somebody in the area consistantly beats this team, they will be the team to beat!

The man just got some nooky, he did not rob a bank, sell drugs, or make terroist threats!!! He got a little bit on a drunk night. Well Avery is listed at 6'3" and 175 lbs which is taller and bigger than AI, but like I said he is listed as a SG not a PG like Iverson was. We will probably not see Brown start until Bradely leaves. Both play the same position and both want the ball in their hands.Next Year Hamilto will be at SF if he stays in school. Lucas or Balbay will be the point and Avery the 2 guard untuil he leaves. Brow will still have to be out 6'6" Shawn Williams for the starting 2-Guard spot and that kid has the size and jump shot to be a future great! Honestly I think unless Texas has some kids that leave as freshman, Brown wont have the chance to start until he is a junior, and he will have to change his way of play because Rick Barnes likes guards with high defensive intensity!
