That was a Hall of Fame joke from a Hall of Famer. I don't care what you guys say Barkley knows the game, he has great insight, and he adds humor to the broadcast. I can handle the grammar & attitude, just keep him around. Also, he is the only commentator outside of Boston that gives Perk props for what he does!

Great game rockets... Wednesday we will be playing and angry LA team... This would be the upset of the ages if the Rockets can pull it off... I think it will be very hard to win this series... Only if Artest can play BIG every game. Looks like Vujacic nullifies one of our greatest bench threats, that is going to be a problem. I think Chuck Hayes will need to play big minutes in this series too.

I wouldn't argue with you theere Dickie... Brook had some loaded teams... Absoluytely loaded... When I think back on how those teams underachieved it is almost a travesty... The '99 WB team was probably more stacked the the Central team that went to State. The '98 team was way loaded, and that '91-'96 was unreal. GBrook was getting D-1 signees when no one in the area was even getting looks!

Dickie, so now you're back in the middle of battling to gain the influence from your players versus his AAU coach. I see it now, one of your well known players has to make a decision and his AAU coach has all the pull, or does he? I never believed in allowing AAU coaches to have ANY influence or pull...The way that the NCAA has it set up now, D-I coaches are no longer allowed to attend AAU events until July...They CAN however visit a kid in a non-organized workout or pick up game at his or her respective HIGH SCHOOL...So, with that said, who do YOU think has the influence once again? THE HIGH SCHOOL COACH and THE PARENTS! Thats where it SHOULD be!! Which bring up another question now. I had some parents bring to my attention (yesterday)that Ozen players don't get basketballl scholarships, even though it's a very successful program. If this is true, how much is the coach's responsibility to get this kid a scholarship? In my opinion this is a credit to the coach... The coach is taking good players and going to State with them... The exposure was there, from National games to national rankings. To me the scout recognized the players were not as good as this arrea thought they were. The coaching got Ozen there. Those same kids have been at Central and Westbrook for years and the coaching could not get them over the hump to becoming GREAT TEAMS... In fact Central and Brook have had arguably better talent (outside of Perkins) in the 90's than any of the Ozen State teams and could not even get to regionals. Am I lying Dickie?

But were those kids as good as 4A and 5A kids? Could they have been big time D1's? Could you have gotten as far in 4A or 5A? NO! Not with that school and that attendance! But that doesn't mean you couldn't be the best 3A team in Dallas! I know it hurts when you think about not playing in the Cambell of Katy Athletic Center!?

The Rockets do not have enough quality bench players to contrend with the Lakers. I believe they will win on maybe two home games (long shot). The rockets need a quality back-up center and a back-up Small forward to even compete in this series. If they can fill those gaps this summer they will be a better team. If they could find an allstar at the point or two, they could be a pretty hard team to contend with. They will have issues unloading T-Macs contract and will be in a bind for a few years... Unless the match-ups work out I see them being a second round and done team this year and next year!

Yes he was.. He is kind of a tweener and has a little weight issue. He should be able to sign with someone though... The kid has a heck of a basketball player within.... He just needs a coach to pull it out!

That guy is Kenny Smith Youngster.... I can see you are a little tender. Charles is the best and he holds no punches. You need a guy like that announcing. Too many guys spend too much time being poliytically correct.

Perk was an animal last night... True definition of a beast... Those stats are eye-popping.. He plays with an edge that most can't handle... I am glad he is getting a chance to assert himself. Barkley has been giviing him props all post season!

Even Jackie Car? 5 State appearances and three Championships in an 8 yrs span. Or James Gamble with 4 State Championships in 7 years a too many appearances to count... Or Fred Williams who had three State Championship in 3 yrs and was cut a little short by the Beaumont integration! Yeah.. Yeah.. Yeah... I know Boutte was on those teams!

I saw my boy Dickie call Boutte the 2nd best coach ever in SETX, to only Gamble... So I started looking at the best coaches in Texas history.... I came up with Robert Hughs, Fred Williams, James Gamble, and Jackie Carr... I like Boutte but I have a tough tim putting him over Robert Hughs, Fred Williams (tie), James Gamble, and Jackie Carr... What do you all say?
