  1. The smallest would have to be Central....They have about 1400 students...Please keep in mind that Houston Yates has about 1000 kids in their school and in boys basketball, would beat Westbrook by 50 and they have well over 2500 students there....Understand that counsel Nos.....Enrollment a minor detail in this case, although somewhat relevent, still minor. 8) '97? Though I don't remember this loss and I was in school there at the time, I will say OK but would like proof. That was Coach Greens first year ther and he went with all Sophmores and Juniors starting and barely played the seniors. No excuse because I don't remember the loss! 98? I don't remember a wire game here either and I did not miss a game that season, except for the Dr. Pepper Tourny in Dallas! But if you say so!That was the year Central went to State... I don't remember any close game with a local except for Westbrook. I remember beating 4A Silsbee, Loincoln and Jefferson by a bunch. Lincoln went to State that year too! I think Kountze was there too... And yall played us close, huh? hold your horses there...coach greens first year team was 98 and we did not lose to HJ. ROSCOE AND TROY was on that team and we spanked them This is more like it... Green got there in 96-97.... The 97-98 team was one shot away from the regional tourny (lucky them Dickie V); then 98-99 team was ice water.
  2. Please DO TELL the WHOLE Story.....How is that situation different than yours? That was a valid example, was it not? What whole story are you speking of? I must interject here too counsel shortt...Central got lucky and went to Austin on a 60 foot shot, only to get the day lights beat out of them by Duncanville in 1999, not 1998.... :...please continue. 8) That shot was not all that Lucky... it was a tied game going into a third over time if he did not make that shot. Duncanville was a better team by far and they routed the championship game too! In fact they one basketball, football, and baseball that year... Man what a year.
  3. Judge... That is one point for the prosecution! I will make a call soon and check that one though!

  5. Look, this is getting brutal.. I would like to offer the prosecution a plea bargin... They can call the Ozen hiring a black eye on BISD, but they have to apologize for generalizing BISD as bad and irresponsible. A public forum apology will do. If you don not take this plea, I promise to counter sue.
  6. Tha is why I said percentage! And the number of schools should help HJ... All of there talent is in one school... The talent is spread out in Beaumont!
  7. I object, on the grounds of callin a scrimmage a "REAL GAME"
  8. I should not be punished for a typo... The "T" and the "Y" key are side by side!
  9. Dicky, Your Honor... I rest my case!!
  10. I would like to compare (the percentages to be fair) of low income single parent families in Beaumont compared to Hardin. Before you condemn maybe you should walk in those shoes. Fellas.. Fellas… I like you all and I like HJ... Maybe you should just concede futile argument... I would hate to continue this onslaught by this powerful team of one known as Shortexas1...
  11. Did we just go to scrimmages??? No don't say it out loud, say it aint so... Now that is what I call reaching! And I already mentioned the girsl teams losing! That improvement is only a recent one. I fact I remember a game back in 95-96 when HJ had a star player by the name of Kenton Spears. They were supposed to give that Jaguaer team the blues... The Jags had no stars that year but still had a really good team. They beat HJ by like 20.
  12. In fact the only 3A losses I have seen were in the 2000s. One was to Kountze in Basketball... At Kountze against a team that had two 6'5" players in Peters and Hall... With Hancack at the point! That was a heck of a team. This years lost to Silsbee was the other. And last WOS in football!
  13. Central has only been around since '87 and I don't remember a "L" ever from HJ! An I mean EVER!
  14. I don't think Central has a Golf or Tennis team... If they do it is a campus secret! lol... But Basketball I do not remember those loses and certainly you wont say football! That must have been in the 80s! But You probably can say soccer and maybe the old girls basketball teams! :-\ Yes I can be disappointed in you... Heck I still am... Useless propaganda that you speak appalls me. Admin and teachers handles every situation as best they can. Where do you suppose that BISD find new employees anyway... It is not like HJ where there are more people than job opportunities! I have seen stars and scrubs alike be snuffed off of varsity squads because of there attitudes but you don't hear about those stories... This one bad story about a kid and you run with it.
  15. Yeah... But this is a breakdown in America more than just one single kid. The lack of interest placed in education is one of the reasons that this country is so behind!
  16. Very dissapointed in you for this statement... You have not heard about this happenning in the past, but one bad apple (if it is true) defines BISD??? You guys are out of site... There is not much to deal with at HJ as BMT has... You cannot compare the kids of one demographic all going toone 3A school, to kids of different demographics at 3 different big schools. HJISD has no place comparing itself to BISD!
  17. The funniest part was Dickie being the Judge... The biggest antagonist on the site JUDGING? Priceless!
  18. I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread! HJ supporters make more people scatter than a stink bomb... They are responsible for more break-ups than Britney Spears! I could go on and on! Nos you mopped the floor with that guy!
  19. Dove, the real reason they are having difficulty with the hiring process is that all of the prospective candidates have found out what a force HF will be in the 2013-2015 season and they don't want to risk the chance of playing second fiddle. Bad news, me hear several of the players from this squad will transfer to other schools to play ball Doubt that will happen. And it wont help, all coaches in BMT on the same level now... Well except for that one in the West. All these guys will be young whipper snappers if Saveat comes back, all have someting to prove, and all are not yet GREAT!
  20. I should have known you would take offense to the HISD statement. :
  21. It isactive everywhere... It may hurt the mid-major to low programs but the Katys, Humbles, Desotos, Duncanvilles, Westlakes, and Odessas of the world will still thrive. Those schools need more competition at the top anyway! I get tired of watching blow-out championship games!
  22. Ask Henderson at Memorial how his first stint in Big school ball turned out. He won a State championship at Mexia, went to Lincoln and couldn't beg for a good season, and he had some talent. They ran him out of there quick and gamble took those same kids to State. Henderson needed time to prepare himself for Big school competition and Big community expectations. Joubert will have to deal with that too. I wish the best for both canidates, the admin, and the kids... I hope this turns out better than its has started!
  23. The school district as a whole is not all that bad... Actually it is a highly recognized district in Texas. My wife is in grad school and she say's when they show examples of well run districts, BISD is on the list everytime. When they show examples of poorly run districts, HISD and DISD come up. Of course you can only judge the one that you are around everyday, but know the facts. Even the 12 Tribes of Irael thought they had it bad whilei in the desert... But God's spirit was amoungst them, bread rained down from heaven daily, there cloths never got old, their feet never blistered, the reproduced, and went into a foriegn land and took over... They actually had it quite good...
  24. Like JayZ said on the on the Life and Times Album... "Politics as Usual!"
  25. Well... Dickie... I don't think the right to play UIL should be extended to all private schools. Some of them are just too small and will water down the competition more. But I do believe if a Private school has a good resume of competitive play, then the offer ought to be extended. I see no problem with that system, it has been alive and well on the East and West Coasts for decades. Only schools that opennly recruit should not be allowed to play, i.e. Oakhill. But giving a kid that EARNS a scholarship to a private school BY PERFORMANCE the oppotunity to play in UIL is NOT a bad thing. If the kid is already at the school and EARNS the scholarship by his play, I have no problem with that. Those kids would either play for the public school districts for FREE or Private school for FREE, absolutely no change.
