Rivalry games are always heavily attended. Winning teams are heavily attended... And everyone else has very minimal crouds at football games... Well we say that this area is a football area but the success has been strong in basketball lately... We have not seen the level of succes in football that we have seen in basketball... SO the kids may think differently than you old folk.... Kountze, HJ, Silsbee, Ozen, Central, Brookland, East Chambers, TJ, and Lincoln (now memorial) have had great basketball success in the last decade, i.e. numerous State appearances and even more regional semi final and finals apperences... Football? NOT SO!!! Thereofore, I feel that the kids have made this a basketball area.

March Madness is pure excitement NFL playoff is indulgence World Series is all about America NBA playoffs watered down! BUT FUN! BUT Texas high school football and basketball playoffs run right there with the World Series.

Down on college there's a place we call "The Plex" look forward to him putting up big stats there next year. MAN! This was a low blow, but I think he would play at a spot down on 9th Street called "The Y" First... He is not a BMT kid. This kid is one year removed from high school so his career is not over yet. He will need to work hard and adjust his attitude. Sometimes these life situations force you into maturity. I have seen alot of kids take the hard road and come out OK. He has chosen that route, now lets see how he comes out. Time will tell!

He made the best choice... He only has one recruitment class that is 100% his... He inhereted bad talent and getting them out the way! He has a really good Freshman classes coming in with one five Star (#3 rated center, #12 rated overall) and two 4 star recruits. He has a young talented team now. Billy has a couple of more years left before they run him out of town... I would not be surprise if he won the SEC next year... Definately the right move!

Central! 4 returning starters. One of the best players in the area and the best freshman in the area. Also, they had a one of the tallest kids in the area but he never developed. First round exit! Subpar season.

Hey guys... It is all good... Go HJ... But now I see why Dickie picks on yall... This pretty fun. Any comment contrary to your opinion gets you guys panties all bunched up. It is quite hilarious. If I were an antagonist I would prey on you all as well!

Highschool classification between 4A and 5A at the top are very close.... So miss me with that analogy. An entire conference schedule where you see the same quality of player day in and day out is much tougher. NO WAY their record would look this good.. I could go to Austin with my team of old men and win too!

Being a Southeast Texan I agree on one thing... You guy should be giddy when any local team performs as well as HJ has performed in recent years. You should be ecstatic at what Silsbee does year in and year out... Cleveland and Jaspers' success is a big deal too.... Even all the way to Newton and Brookland... It is all about pride for your area... But don't be mad when an outsider doesn’t show your same enthusiasm. I love Central and I have been around in years that they were successful. I will defend them regardless of what anyone says... But you guys must admit that you take it a little far with the 3A programs... Sometimes you close your eyes to the truth.... All I have seen Dickie say is that they would not be as successful as the bigger schools, they don't compare, and they will not be considered amongst the greats in the State because of their classification... Sorry guys but that is just true.... Only 3A and this area celebrates and respects the great Kountze Teams (In my opinion have a better resume than HJ)! But when the best programs in the State are mentioned most folks will talk about the 4A and 5A programs only, 3A and lower programs are after thoughts... Sorry if that upsets you but it is just the way it is. The Only exception has been WOS football and that is because they have played on the bigger levels and have been successful. The funny thing is if you pay attention, since it has moved to 3A the buzz is slowly going away.

I am glad Memphis did not get it.,.. It is undeserved... They would have had a tough time in the not so good leagues like the Big 12 and the Pac 10!!!! Of course their record looks good in Conference USA!

I know many of you will give me the blues about this, but so! This is ridiculous.... Of course Dickie is arrogant about his passion and profession. Any of you on here that have went to college and studied your craft... Any of you that have interned while in college and got a job at that profession... Any of you that has spent ten years in that profession at many different levels from the bottom to the top position, and gotten plenty of experience... Any of you that have become a recruiter at your job and have reasonability to hire the correct individuals to perform the job at a high level... I know you would be arrogant about your job too. I am willing to bet that you would not be receptive to me if I approached any of you trying to persuade you on things that you do at work, when I am not even in your field of work. For you Smart folk that is like a bank manager telling a chemical engineer how distillation works. For you not so smart folks that is like a market basket bagger telling an Edward Jones broker how to set-up an investment portfolio. Dickie V is one of the few professional opinions we have on this board and we try to shut him up? Why? THINK ABOUT IT!

How can Yates recruit? Trust me they would not recruit all guards who wouldn't play on any college team... They are a City of Houston low-to-moderate income school in a area (3rd Ward) with a HIGH crime rate... Low test scoring (academically) and a program is always tough but that has never got over the hump to win state in football or basketball. They have nothing attractive that will allow them to recruit. Get over it.... It is just a bunch of tough kids who have played their hearts out! GOOD season Yates... Proud of you guys... Now I hope that you all get into someones school for higher education!

Iwatched this kid in High School... Good to see him balling so hard!

We may can ride Pittman to a good Tourny. But we need to stop the turnovers. KState took 20 more shots than UT because of turnovers.

Thank goodness L-town isn't a 'burb of Boremont, now if we could just shake that red headed step child image we'd have it made. ;D L-Town is made up of Beaumonts Westend... I think he just dropped the ball on L-Town... They a suburb too!

In My Day Central and WB would pack any gym... And Central and Lincoln would pack every gym.... But alas this to must pass... Wheatly and Yates will never pass though! 3rd Ward verses the nichol!
