  1. All of these comments DONT MATTER... The kid has effectively put his life and career in jeopardy. It is a a hole that he will be climbing out for life, whether its getting a scholarship, education, or a job. It was not an educated move and now he will suffer!
  2. Well they have beat some of ther best and have been only a step behind others... They only lose big to OU! I think they are inconsistant, but good they are...!
  3. Rick Barnes made a BIG change and he is going small, I wonder if he is going to stay with this line up... It is small and can be exposed by teams with bigs... But iit is athletic and it will help the team pik-up the pace. Balbay, Mason, Abrams, James, and Johnson leaves rick with no one over 6'7" starting. But there is a Bevy of Bigs to throw at teams off the bench!
  4. Give me a break... None of those kids are better than the freshman at central or the Boyd kid at Ozen... As of late the Boyd kid has been playing really big. Either one of these kids would be all world at Lumberton, LCM, PNG, Nederland, Vidor, or Livingston!
  5. Corner,James, Mason, Abrams were all hitting shots last year... But that was because they had a PG... ALL of their issues stem from the lack of a PG. Until Rick Barnes does what he did when When D.GIb was thye PG, he will have a hard time winning. All the offense should go inside out with players moving to get open... His bigs need to look for the kick and repost, and AJ should not be jacking up shots at will. They have been figured out... Stop AJ and you stop Texas! The Big Twelve has good coaches, you knew someone would figure it out soon... You can't depened on a 5'10" jump shooter to carry a college team!
  6. He will look like death. his was funny and wrong lol!!!! And Andrew Bugot has to make this list!
  7. They have already been checked, heck, three times in a row.... Now they need to respond!
  8. Wheatly might have it this year, but outside of that everyone else is beatable. If Breon is healthy he will be a hand full against Yates.
  9. 1.Decarlos Franks-Ozen (But he is getting suspect) 2.Willie Jefferson-Ozen (Athlete like no other in the district) 3.Jamar Gulley-Central (Jack of all trades, from the post to the guard) 4.Diontae Forney-Nederland (This big man is truely what makes NED good... If they would just get him the ball) 5.Breon Johnson-Ozen (This kid is the best in the area at getting to the basket) 6.Dustin Harris-Livingston (Another Athlete that can score) 7.Chris Hammond-Nederland (I like this kid, he does it all and has nice height, post game could be better) 8.Jared Williamson-Vidor (Vidor has one of these guys year-in and year-out!) 9.Hunter Gonzales - LCM (I have only seen him once but he was impressive) 10.Kristain Smith-Central (There are other kids that could go here because they are upper classmen, but this kid is right there with them)
  10. dont you think with him being half a foot taller than most big guys he guards that hes got a good enough head start? the fact is with his height he should (in my mind) be blocking ATLEAST 2.5-3 shots a game (your boy yao has 1.6). even if he cant beat the big guys...block the guards and their layups. the fact is hes not as dominant as people put him out to be. too slow for guards, all he does is alter shoots!

  12. Why should Yao be the number 1 shot blocker? Because he is tall? Shot blacking takes alot more than height. You must be a fast hopper to be a good shotblocker in this league... I think Yao is the best offensive center in the league... If he was more durable he would come close to eing the best period. I honestly believe that Yao gets more fouls called on him because of his body movement than actual fouls... I guess it is hard to move 7'6" 320 lbs. Offensively no center in todays game has more in his arsenal... and the free throw line is childs play for Yao. I think Howard is the best defensive center in the league... His offensive game is elementary, an he has trouble scoring against good interior defense. You can only choose one of hthe players by need.... If you have a scoring foward then Howard is your man... If you have a defensive forward then Yao is your man!
  13. Atchley is reminding me alot of James Thomas... He was the center when TJ ford was there... TJ made him look all world. He lost hi starting job his senior year once TJ left fro the pros. He looked pedestrian without his PG... It is crazy how a point guard can make a player look really good...
  14. Where does Jai Lucas fit into the mix? And obviously J'Covan Brown didn't make it to UT this Spring. Next year for UT will be very peculiar. If James stays it will be even more to ponder on… Mason and Gary Johnson have put there stamp on being starters… Dexter may well be on that same track. They Say this 6’2†Avery kid can flat out score, and 6’7†Hamilton is a pure scoring SF, and 6’6†Williams from Duncanville is one of the best young shooters around. Then you have Jai who is a great ball handler and can shoot the bal just as well… That kid is a true PG. If James stays I think it unfolds like this. Pittman Johnson James … Barnes will allow him to stay here because he wants to do what’s best for his career. Mason Lucas Here Mason is the question, can one of these kids knock this senior out of his starting role… I don’t think Barnes will do that. So we have a bench of Freshman that will be high impact guys. Balbay will be the back-up PG and there is still a Bevy of Bigs on the bench. Barnes could go three guards though and allow Avery or Hamilton to crack the starting line-up and put Dexter on the bench… But this goes against the James as a SF development that Barnes initiated. If James leaves after this year then here come the Freshman. I think Jai will start regardless because Balbay is not ready. The way everyone is raving about Avery he could start over both of the big SF that are coming in. But that will make UT small with the three guard line-up and Gary at center… Don’t think Barnes wants that… Pittman Johnson Hamilton Mason/Avery Lucas
  15. This kind of puts the Thunder in a bind though. They were in position to move Green to PF and Start KD at the three... This has been working well for them. Now KD will need to go down to the two and Green will be the three... But add in Westbrook and a decent center and this team will be tall and dangerous. 6'10, 6'9", 6'9", 6'3, and a 6'10 or better center. However I suggest they get a nice 6'5" or taller shooting gaurd with three point shooting ability, move KD to the three and Lamar Odon (six man) Jeff Green. They are young but Durant is getting scarey good, Jeff Green just needs to find consistancy, and Blake ha the potential to be a star. With Westbrook steadily improving at the PG they could be more stacked than the current Laker and Celtic teams. It will take some time and it will take a coach that will teach these kids how to play good team D, and they may be scary. They have all the skill to be a great defensive team too!
  16. I must be psychic
  17. Again, I did not say he did not try... But there are coaches that have made it work... Lamarque, Yates, and Northshore have alot of those same kids... But somehow they make it work a little bit better.
  18. AJ you dont know basketball... In the NBA a 50-win season is a very successful season (65% win percentage)... Boston won 66 games last year and no won else won more than 59. Last years record would have been good enough for 7th seed in the tough West and was 3rd seed in the east behind only Boston and Detroit! Especially good with a young team with no real PF anad in the coaches first year with the team... Jameer Nelson actually is looking like a PG after impersonating one throughout his entire career. He is making a line up with two small forwards starting work. And he has got guys that were never known for their defense to actually play defense... And he has incorporated a one dimensional player like JJ Redick, who can only shoot the into the line-up successfully. Oh and did I mention that Pat Riley robbed him of a championship, he was just as good at Miami! He is on the list but you do have... Phil Jacson Greg Pop Jerry Sloan George Karl Byron Scott Rick Adelman Doc Rivers Mike D'Antoni Don Nelson To consider!
  19. The kid is actually a Texas native... He went to Heriatage Christian in Cleveland, back when they were busted for recruitng. The kid was a scout.com top 150 coming out of high school... He was a scorer with the green light but he looked a little stiff... Then he went to Florida State and had two great seasons with them... He was decent. Then someone advised him that the league was interested. He was a second round pick and has been on the NBA carasel for the last 3 years. It is all about being put in the right situation, like Daniel Gibson.
  20. Might want to leave him out of this one... Yeah he is ugly but he has got Candice Parker!!!! NUFF SAID... She is beautiful, which upgrades him!
  21. Tonight at Wake Forest!
  22. Great win... But the Horns can't close anyone out... They play too many close games... They will play Iowa State and Pitt and both games will be within 8 points...
  23. Getting to the Sweet 16 is one of the hardest things to do. So making it there with no McDonalds All Americans, No Point Guard, No Team Identity would be a feat. That is why they call it "SWEET"
  24. Hey, I understand that there will always be kids that fall through the cracks, I am just saying I would like to see ore that at least prepare better. I am not saying it is Stower's fault. I think he did a great job. It is truely all about preparation, it is difficult to pass a test when it is taken at the last minute. All these kids can take the SAT in 10th grade, waiting until the second half of your senior year just doesn't cut the mustard! I just want someone to take the extra step with these kids similar to the way Coach Dixon thook with us and our books... From the starter to the guy way down at the end of the bench.
  25. Well I know some administrators had their issues with Stowers but all in all he did a great job. 3 playoff appearances in 4 years and one regional final round trip. I can easily see a coach leaving BMT for a meal ticket in Houston or Dallas... The venues are just much more publicized. Why be in a town where your local news fails to cover your school's achievements? Game stats for the local games cannot be found? Also, where you have minimal parent evolvement, and you have low income kids that are not self motivating. I wonder what is he doing for the kids? Their has been 4 blue chip players in his 4 year tenure, Charles Thomas, Victor Spikes, Frog, and Brandon Williams. If charlie goes to school he will be the only one to make it further education. Ozen has been irrelevant in football but they have sent 3 kids to big time schools in the last 4 years. Personally I would rather these kids be on a losing team going on to further their education than to be on a winning team where they never leave Beaumont. It may not be his fault but I have seen athletes from Central go on to college or at least qualify to go on to college.
