  1. I did not say Silsbee could not beat WB and/or Memorial... But I think WB would win and maybe Memorial right now... Both teams are playing well now and Brook is playing way better since getting the football boys. Again, Silsbee has a great team this year but that doesn't change the fact that the talent gap is enormous between 3A and 5A... Like I have said before, Silsbee will not play against any McDonalds All Americans or any of the top 100 kids in the nation in 3A... But those kids are there in the 5A and 4A programs!
  2. And I don't believe Stowers is all the committed to Central... He will leave soon I beleive!
  3. Thsi banquet would just start fights! lol
  4. Mike Thomas? Dubbie Garrett? Head coaches of a big time program before the age of thirty??? Are you kidding me? You could not be serious, I know! You were just playing, trying to arouse the crowd! Now that will NEVER happen... They will b good assistance for 5 to 8 more years, though! well you can think its funny but mike thomas played for boutte and is the freshman coach at ozen now.he knows all of boutte's stuff and knows the kids well. and ed garriet has been on the college ranks coaching at mcneese for two years and is now at the high school in louisiana coaching now. why is it so hilarious for them to become head coaches under the age of 30. boutte got his first head job when he was 23. i think one of those two or josh hancock will be a good fit. we need to bring some our young guys back Get off the gas...
  5. I like Silsbee. They have always had good talent, especially when they played in 4A. I think they are so well coached (by the assistant) and the various athletes make them very togh to beat. I believe a Boutte coached Ozen team will beat Silsbee every time reguardless of a close score. I am not quite sure, but I believe Westbrook will not lose to Silsbee. Central should be better than they play, but that is another subject. Memorial is decent and I think they would play well and maybe beat Silsbee. With that being said outside of WB(maybe) and Ozen(maybe with the loss of Boutte), none of these teams will make it out of the first round or second round of the 4A and 5A playoffs. Because 4A and 5A are just that good. The Talent gap is not closing because for every Silsbee there are 10 Orangefields, Pecos, Sangers, etc.. Silsbee could not beat the 5A programs in the top 50 in the State. Locally, I am happy that Silsbee is competing... They are lucky the Beaumont schools have mediocre coaching especially now with Boutte gone. And the other 4A programs in the area are not basketball schools, so they tend to make Silsbee look GREAT! No disrespect!
  7. Isnt the State championship game today? Why are we STILL arguing about Friendswood... Neither team ffinished the job on the field... One point difference so either deserved to go... Friendswood won... The Jags had a great season... Story over!
  8. No other coach n bmt will get that job... they have a very short list
  9. Small fish at Brook? In four years he turned around a program that won two games and turned it into a top ten regular season team... Now amost every kid wants to be at Brook because of the exposure and the fact that he is sending more kids to college. At PNG... He will lose on athletes and he has a HARDER chance to win state... The big 4A schools are starting to get 5A talent now and PNG though the kids are great it is not there...... And you are talking about leaving an established program to go to a school that has had one successful season in four years??? I love the PNG tradition but come on! Ok let's look at it... Pay... Step behind Talent... 9 Steps behind Venue... Step up but not by much (especially with the new BISD stadium still in the making and the 5A playing stage) Program... Step Behind Media exposure... 9 Steps behind Available talent crop... 9 Steps behind (Almost all of BMT; vs. PN, G, and a few PA kids)
  10. In High School Skip and Doubie were better than Albert and Mike hands down. The carried a team of defensive stoppers, no other stars... Riley was just big in high school and he did not play many minutes until the playoffs when we played against BIG men... Ronnie was good on D, Shane was a back-up plan that never worked, Rodrick was the corner trigger man with stopper ability... Ozen had 2 D1 players and a NBA player above 6'6" to play with Mike and Albert... Ronnie was the only player above 6'6" on that started on central's team and nobody that started went D1 except skip and doubie... Did Mike and Albert go D1... NO! Now to the next issue... Paris graduated in '06, skip and doubie never played against him... so you are wrong there... And that Brook team would have gave that central team fits, they had guards and bigs that year!!! Sweet and Ron... Luke and Foreman were sweet and probably desearves that top spot too.. Paris and Clyde were top ten, and Mike and Albert are somewhere down the list of top 20!!!! And that is because of the ring! Truth be told Ozen could not have won (dickie will have something to say about this statement) a ring against that Duncanville team that went tri-fecta with Championships in football, basketball, and baseball that year! Central's State run they played the #1 Milby (undefeated), #2 Duncanville (1 loss), #5 Humble (2 loss), #10 Dulles (6 loss), teams in the state 5A back-to-back for 4 games straight! Ozen's run wasn't that difficult... But the best back court in beaumont was a three headed monstar... Golden Corner (should have been D1 but was a head case), Trey McDowel (D1), and Jeremy Long (D1)... Their only misfortune is that they did not have a coach... Based on pure talent! Ask any body who played against them and they know...
  11. May not have many players afetr all the investigations!
  12. I don't know... The Jags may lose Stowers to a big school over the summer... It has been no secret that he has looked for the next BIG gig..
  13. A lot of teams have had thier worst offensive game of the season against this defense. like i said before we had to move the ball in the second half and we did not. i could not make the game but i know it wasnt the refs that took the game from central. this is unfamiliar territory for us and we did not know to go out there and take this game. at this point in the season teams must take games because nothing is a given. good luck fw. great season jags
  14. even without the football boys? I am worried.
  15. That was a good find BMT HS FOOTBALL FAN and I think only Derrick Hall is gone off of that team. Speed does not scare Central at all, that is what we have ALWAYS been known for. Teams don't beat us by out running us, you have to out execute us. If you have a suspect defense we will run wild and score some points but I don't think it will be more than 28. Outside of WB the games we lost this year were both lost in the forth quarter and basically were due to turnovers. I think we will be OK against this team.
  16. Sorry guys I may be a little behind, but what happenned to Justin Nabors? He is supposed to be a beast yet I haven't seen him in any games this year... Is he injured? Off the Team? Redshirted?
  17. OK who would you choose? Southland or ACC? I bet the ACC pust more players into trhe pros!!!
  18. Angleton looks to me like they run out of the spread. Their QB leads the charge with a 1300 yard season on the ground and 400 + passing. Their starting Tailback just aboove 900 yrds on the season. The Jags are the epitome of team ball with 5 backs with all over 200 yrd rushing on the season. Looking at Angleton's games, it looks as if the defense is along the order of Nederland. The only common foe we have is Lamarque and that was a scrimmage for us. Dickinson and Brook played within a point of one another - :-\Brook should have won by 14 :-\ Dickinson blew Angelton out at about the same clip Brook whipped us, and both teams were competitive until the half. But I don't think they have seen "Organized Chaos" and Angleton will be in touble because teams have run well on them. Butr after that We have both Friendswood and Lake Travis on our side of the bracket... Bad News for the Jags!
