I hope this report is wrong, but these are my feelings. If not I apologize to coach Stowers. What is going through your mind SETXFan? No dedication to the team? What are 2-a-days doing that track had not done all summer... This kid stayed in shape and probably doesn't even need 2-a-days.. These practices are built not to learn or run plays but solely to get kids that have not been real active all summer back in shape... If this kid has ran track all summer he is already in shape. I can see if it was not something constructive and not to the benefit of the kid, then I would call Stowers right... But let's be fair... He has not put the kid in a place to succeed in football... The kid has put the team first and played everywhere the coach put him, the ultimate sacrifice of himself. He started him at corner as a sophomore and instead of allowing him to perfect that position he moved him the next year. Then receiver as a junior, and he did not have a QB that could get him the ball (the kid was frustrated every game, wide open and no ball). Now he is at QB? Which he could have started last year and would have been more polished by this year. This kid has had no chance to show college scouts his true ability, and he is an awesome athlete. Stowers is not showing this kid dedication, he is throwing him where he needs him and not letting him perfect any position. And then he gets mad at him for running? It doesn't sound like the coach is the team player....

These coaches that try to make a kid choose a sport is crazy... These kids open opportunities for themselves by being versitile... They should have that right... As a coach you have a right not to play them, but not the right to tell them to quit some other sports... And if you are smart you play the BEST athletes that are not disciplinary issues... Stowers and all you other coaaches like that arew wrong... And that's how you loose players... I think Spikes will need a UIL Excemption to play at another school this year!!! Is that correct?

Dude... This is a sports blog for people to chat and state their opinion... KEYWORD... OPINION... this is not in anyway a direct indictment of you or Central's Coach... Think about the Brook team in '99... They arguably had more talent than the Central Team especially at the guards...... And check on those playoff rounds during Greens tenure... His first team at Central he did not start one senior and they lost in the first round... regional semi the next year when Kensley Barret hit threes at the end of two games in a row to clinch and missed that same shot in the last game, the second round and lost in double overtime to Eisenhower, and his final year they lost in the second round with Third and Andrews... However that was 5A... They had three team in there district in the top 15 two of those years... 4A was not tougher than 5A in the late 90s early 2000s and stil is not. No I don't expect Central at State.. I just like competitive basketball.The immediate impact I am referring to in English is that NED became a challenge and more competitive. Are you really sayin that NED or Vidor has had as much talent as Central? And as a fan I can be critical or positive of Central Jaguars, UT Longhorhs, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Rockets, and the Astros... I reserve that right... Freedom of speech... Ever heard of it... My paycheck justifies my sports affiliation... Vertically challenged little ol' me decided to make six figures using my mind... For one I gave the coaches and the team props... Last year was no the first time we played Lumberton Undefeated... They were the first game in district a few year sback and they went undefeated in the first three games... What I am saying is the truth... NO ONE EXPECTED LUMBERTON THO ACTUALLY BE GOOD.... Central took lumps all year long.. Theyt were not a good enough TEAM to beat anyone... Yeah that had Talent but no team work... What I am saying is that Lumberton is marked this year... Teams are not use to losing to them... That makes players and coaches very upset... Take away what was in the past a gimme game for almost every team in district (u have to understand that statement has been reality) Teams will come ready to play all year...

central never takes lumberton as a real threat.. last year woke them up.. the district woke up... the ltrain won't sneak up in anyone this year. I would be suprised if they make the top four...

preach dickie preach.... just like english made an immediate nederland, coaching can ingluence a program. Central did not have the best talent n beaumont but they went to state in 99... and stayed in regionals during the Green era. westbrook had way more talent and could not get into the late rounds.. if Boutte was there Brook would have been a perrinial power. Boutte had help early because of the allure of the new school. but their enrollment is less than Centrals now... Central can win with what they have now... can they be coached out of the first round?

I think spirit is a great thing... Those guys have that... But they also are pompous, and that irritates me! You know there is an old saying... If big brother whips up on lil brother long enough eventually lil brother will STEAL a win!!!! This is how we do Lumberton... That one lump you left will never compare to the years of abuse we have put on the L-Yugo!

Lumberton, congrats on a good season in 2007, I wish you the best. The only thing that gets me is perrinnial powers like Ned, PNG, Central, WOS, etc. don't get on here talking all world talk and these teams have had numerous good years... You guys get one good year and now you all talk like Lumberton is all world... You all need to just be thankful for having a good year and press for future success, NOT come on a thread and claim greatness.... Proof is in performance not talk!!!!!!!

With this Dorsey pick it looks as if they are going to try to play Landry at some three... He is athletic enough, but we need to check his handle and passing abilities. Is this the end of Chuck Hayes? He is difficult to shop because we paid and undersized forward very well!
