Nice season. I guess I should be pleased overall but this loss is a tough pill to swallow. All we had to do was beat McNeese and we are in the NIT but nope...we lay an egg their. And then we lay an egg in the first round of the tournament. The early season was a big failure...the mid season was absolutely fantastic...and the post season was a HUGE FAILURE. I'm sick....and you look at who we are using and the lack of any decent recruits and I'm even more sick. It's time for Roc to step up and show why he is supposedly such a good recruiter. Lamar Sanders, Hopkins, Currye, and Dawkins were all good recruits. The 3 early signees look like subpar recruits (even for the SLC). LU/Roc/Skelton HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO between now and next season. I do think there are some potentially bright spots with Nabors and Worrell and possibly even Brown but Worrell and Brown still have to make a huge improvement next year. I guess I just have too high of expectations. I consider us the North Carolna of the Southland...you know they expect to win the ACC title every year...I expect us to win the SLC title every year. Maybe we are just the Virginia or Florida State of the ACC. Cant be NC... They expect to but they do at least some times.... We won once since basketball came back in '96

Traditionally Lamar doesn't recruit home town players.... Home town players don't traditionally go to Lamar.. So it is a no win situation!!!!!!!!!!

Forest Brook I believe it was Forest Park, which is currently Westbrook, that was in existence until the 82-83 school year. Yeah I know... Just made a mistake!

And Central has had a decent futball team for a couple of years.. I know what I am talking about but they dont dominate... The Majority of the kids from both schools live in the area of the school... There are far more kids giving fake addresses to go to WB than u know... Br0ok is th rue MAGNET!!!!

I disagree Aggies.....I thought the same thing at first after watching Silsbee play them (even though I believe Silsbee did not play well against them) but, after watching how Burkburnett's press hurt Kennedale (same press we run) I felt like we would have matched up well with any of the teams there. It's all about match-ups at that point and I think we matched up pretty well with all four teams there. While rankings ultimately mean very little I am confused as to how teams from the two toughest regions in the state (that made it to the regional tournaments and finals) could be ranked below teams who got beat in the second and third rounds. Oh well..... Match-ups are everything... That is real talk!

Team first Vidor has a couple of good years so we do something to compete????? Please!!!! :-\ If you believe that you are foolish... The whole magnet school thing is about academics not athletics!!!!! : If that were the case we would dominate in football, basketball, track (oops we do), baseball, soccer, and tennis.... Nobody is loading up on talent we have always beat on Vidor... Vidor has a few years of good luck but that doesn't explain the decades of defeats Vidor has taken from Beamont schools!!!!!!! When it was Central and Westbrook just in the '90s we completely embarrassed Vidor EVER YEAR!!!!!! So EXPLAIN THAT with magnet crap talk!!!!!!!!! At one time Beaumont had 5 highschools and it was ZONED and we still were competitive in sports... It is traditional!!! We had Southpark, Forest Brook, French, Hebert, and Charlton-Pollard!!!! Hebert was still winning state. CP was competitive, French was a power... On and ON... Teamfirst being good is in the blood of people in Beaumont!!!! Even in our bad years all will awe at our talent... Even without coaching the TALENT will shine...

You what what teamfirst.... Take a walk in Beaumont and find out where all the kids are going... Ozen has the lowest numbers in the city and central is just slightly better... All the kids are actually going to WB none-Magnet High School.... You are so ignorant of what is going on that yu are just speaking out of the side of your neck.... The Magnet portion of the schools are a PROGRAMS that only a PERCENTAGE of students with the APPROPIATE GPA are enrolled in. The majority of the students are average everyday kid just going to school for an eucation. So give up the BULL BOY!
