I'm sorry if Ben's parents, realitives, or friends are on this site. Austin police are biting down on these UT players and it is evident. This kid cannot destroy his career or education like this. So many of these kids want to fit in instead of having their own minds.... One hand get a free education and possibly make millions in the pros (UT safeties recently have all gone to the league), or on the other hand get high today... That shows no ability to reason or no aptitude to understand. I hate saying this word but dumb and ignorant comes to mind. If he doesn't make it to the league he still might not pass a background check to get a good job... Companies are background checking everyone now-a-days, even upper level Walmart employees (store managers). Come on Ben, grow up, you are no longer a child, these things can effect your future. You can wind up a bright young star that futures shows a thirty year old unemployeed man. I grew up in the North, a block from the Gardens... I had those friends and I done those things as a child that could have destroyed my future. I was blessed and it did not, but as a man (from my senior year til today) you can't pay me to hang with my friends who are do those things. I still care for them but won't mess up my life for anyone. I hope you read this Ben.... Grow up and be somebody! I'm off my soap box!!!

And that BMT paper does release weekly stat leaders or player of the week awards? Aere we really in Teaxs? This is a football state and our paper can sometimes careless. And lets not talk about bias... I remember one year Central won state in the 4X4 track relay (the fastest time in the nation that year) and there was not even an article in the local paper... What a joke!! I had to go to the Austin Statesmen to read a big article about it!!!! Our paper did not even acknowlegde it!

Still on point Soulja... The Beaumont Meaningless is horrible... The real question is why doesn't our 22-4A officials and coaches not report stats to the chron... They never can involve us in the stats, assesments, and we are always ranked ridiculously. The chron is a hot bed for recruiting the HOUSTON AREA talent and we don't put our kids great deeds in it! This goes for basketball too.

That '95 team was so mean and nasty... Coach D invited the freshman team from Lil' Central to the field house at the big school to work out on MLK day (Can we all just get along)... We thought we were special, then looked all we heard was them singing "Jaguars Root Root Root" they rushed us a beat us real good. Initiation baby!!!!

Central '95 team was mean... Big Roc Hill, Stew, Aaron, Jamal, Lester Holts, Mean Charels Grean... They were all big, what a defensive front! with Gary Thomas and Nick Jones at the safetys. That was a Hard hitting Defense

He hasn't seen thw scoreboard at the school where Central played BH last year in the play-offs.... I is one of the best in Houston and certainly topps LCMs... LCM should pass the score board to a team that will actually make the play off!

Also, the classification count has grown... in the 60s - 70s the high class was 4A... Now 5A is here and you have big and samll school brackets. The world has grown up around little Fruit City, but those guys will be gamers in ant division!

Newman needs to go nowhere but Central!

The district is strong and I see no dominant team... Which we had a state potential team but for now we dont... Hopefully they can improve over the season! Close race in district and dont be surprised if some faces sneak into that race!

But then again it would be hard to get a spot on that roster!

It depeneds on coaching... The talent would be there... but coaching would tell the tale. It would be similar to PAM team that boasted Calvin Jackson, James Johnson, and Danny Gorrer... but that team had no coaching... Albeit there are more great atheletes in Beaumont because of nothing but sure size... PAM has no more students than WB... A Beaumont school would have 5400 students.... man!!! Imagine Albert Williams and Christian Micheals in the bacfield, with Hall and Spikes at the recievers, the Ozen QB, with the best lineman from each school.... Way tooo strong....

I fo admit Beaumont football has not been elite in while. There has been alot of good football played here that has not transferred to play-off performance. In the last 10 years beaumont football programs have only went three or more rounds deep in the playoff 4 times. (Central 1 & WB 3). Alot of the football woes for this area have been because of the shift in zoning and schools in the past 20 or so years. There has been seven or so school changes and re-zoning, therefore there is no stability. Ozen was created at a time when WB and Central were both finding new identities, with the hype of Ozen both schools lost key players. Until some stability is reached, look for there to be struggles to be elite programs in Beaumont. Alot of the schools metioned in westensds blog have 40 + year traditions (PNG & Ned included). All have had up and down years and all have been great over that span too. There are two schools in this city that have somewhat of a tradition Central 21 yrs and WB 25 yrs. These schools have not had the opportunity to build tradition because of the district carrousel of zoning and school additions and subtractions. And there is talk of a third Highschool instead of building on the ones we have. With a little stability great tradition can come out of Beaumont, the atheletes are here.

Good post besbolbenbedy... I was going to say the same thing.... Those records against WOS were when they were 5A and 4A powers. Check your history west end... Only two loses to WOS 3A was Central when it was 4A. It was also during two of the programs most down years and at the begining of the year during which Central had coaching changes.

Soulja!! How do we (Central) look in comparison to Ozen?

Gotta put my coin in.... Centrals Head coach is fine, I like the guy, but his Offensive Coordinater (OC) is confused. I have never scene a more confused OC in my life. The lack luster Oline has really exposed him this year. In the past good qb's and rb's could do alot behind a decent Oline. This year the Oline is pitiful... I apologize to the parents of the kids on the Oline but the effort to be a good line isn't there. The OC is trash slop. For the past years I have scene Central waste TO because they can't get the play off in time. It is even more evident this year. The guy doesnt have a playbook and he doesnt watch the play clock. Find a new OC and Central will be decent. The defense allowed some big plays... I thought they played well against bigger and stronger kids. The Brook wasn't methotical on there drives.... there points came from the big play!!!! Now the Brook will have a great year. Need to find a way to get the two headed monstars the ball even more. They can forget the spread and run the pro-style and feature both backs... I think the D is good and will be strong this year. the corners can be exploited, they were playing baseball against our recievers. NOTE: OC didnt notice that either. I would have ran short stunts and curls till WB corners played tighter then went to the air deep. OOPs my bad the central O-line wouldn't have blocked anyone to get that pass off! Westbrook I want to say great job... I would rather eat chicken but you have got me eating crow! Central... kids good luck... the talent is there but the coachin staff especially OC will have to get it out there and let you use it. Defense you held us in the game as long as you could have... good job. Offense... tighten up line and act like you want to play...

Records and talent are out of the window in a rilvary.... It is time for the kids and the coaches to show who is the better program THIS year. The kids at Central have something to prove so I am rooting for my Jags.... But a WB win won't surprise me!!! Jaguar for life J..... A..... G....... UARS!! s :Ding the anthem!!!

Central over WB

Sorry guys Chip graduated in 98'.... 95'-96' was his sophmore year... He started at qb all 3 years.... They won that game and stopped us from coming in second in district to Lee.... They actually beat the Gary Thomas Central Team and Northshore back to back which were the two and three teams in district... WB did not make the play-offs that year.

Actually the Spike kid started at corner last year... He was kind of victomized often since he was only a soph.... But the kid has grown leaps and bounds physically... The potential was there all along.
