1. LCM (2-0) travels to Caney Creek (1-1) to play a triple option team that probably will end up resembling LCM's team from last year (Caney Creek went winless last year). For those of you who don't know, Caney Creek beat Cleveland 24-22 in Week 0, then lost to King 31-29 last week
 2. Kelly will be able to pass significantly better than BC's first two opponents. Not that it matters: BC 35 Kelly 17
 3. Not saying this matters, just food for thought: MaxPreps.com, who ranks every team in the country, has the standings looking like this after Week 1 (number in parenthesis is state wide rank).  Note - MaxPreps' system is a lot like the BCS computers, factoring in a bunch of stuff that humans (and common sense) could never understand  ;D 1. PNG (182) 2. Lumberton (192) 3. LCM (261) 4. Vidor (374) 5. Nederland (391) 6. Central (522) 7. Livingston (523) 8. Ozen (561)
 4. You know...LCM's WHOLE offense didn't do that bad either... ;D
The ENTIRE WB OFFENSE:           Beaumont West Brook Total yards 439 First downs 12 Rushes/Yds 27/294 Average rush 10.89 Comp/Atts 7/8/0 Pass yards 145 Comp pct 87.5 TD rushing          6 TD passing          2
5. Was this the one that went into overtime last year?
 6.
If Lumberton or LC-M opens with PA Memorial then West Brook, both those teams would also be 0 and 2. Central will be a better team for playing better competition.
But would they have lost by a combined score of 93-7?  Probably not.  From WHAT I'VE SEEN SO FAR, Central has not been very good. Last year WB beat them by 6, this year by 48.  It would stand to reason that they have not started out very well...
 7. I wouldn't call Nacogodoches bad, but there is definately no excuse for LCM's defense giving up 53 (although they did score 2x defensively).  LCM's defense is not nearly as well conditioned as they were last year, they weren't giving any effort in the second half. That being said, LCM-Lumberton in Week 3 should be a huge game. After 2: 1. PNG - Barely lost to one district champ, smashed another 2. Lumberton - Should get their first real test against Silsbee next week, then we'll see if I'm an idiot or not 3. Nederland - Sure WO-S killed them in week 0, but that didn't affect them the last two years. 4. Livingston - Not much to go on, Jasper obviously is struggling early 5. Ozen - West Brook is REALLY GOOD, and so far they are holding on against PAM 6. Vidor - Maybe Matt Menard is just that good 7. Central - I'm going on what I've seen, which is two massive butt whoopings.
 8. At the community pep rally yesterday, Coach Crouch called Nacogdoches one of the "best teams to play in Bear Stadium in a while" Not sure what he's means by that...
 9. Well it appears that rustedcutlass was kinda blindsided on this one, but since he's the setxsports expert, I'll go with him.  Plus I don't really understand the term "dock of the bay"
 10. You know Merka will be looking forward to avenging last year's beat down, should be a fun game.  Sure would be crazy if PNG started off 0-2, though...
 11.
Quarante, tinkle and simmons all had concussions. Will all b back for friday.
Whoa.  That lets you know when its time to buy new helmets...
 12.
LCM and Lumberton only 2 teams undefeated after week zero in 20-4A. Does anyone know if Livingston beat Nacogdoches?
Technically Livingston won, but it was a scrimmage
 13. BC should have fits stopping the Vidor running game, and Vidor should be incapable of stopping Matt Menard on the ground and through the air. After Vidor's scrimmages though, it is very tough to say whether last night was a fluke or if Vidor just didn't bring the A-game to the scrimmages.
 14. hm...the sources appear slightly biased... ;D If the stats are true, LCM will probably have problems with both the size of Nacogdoches' backfield and their front 3.  I am particularly afraid that Nac's defense will match up well against the Bears.
 15. WHAT!!!!!  Coach crouch is not going to be happy about this.  Caney Creek was supposed to be LCM's stat-booster...
 16. Yep.  They scrimmaged in Livingston tonight...
 17.

Still think GCM holds Dayton under 20?  :o :P ;)
Don't bet on that.  LCM was very bad and GCM so so much worse they made LCM look good.  UGLY UGLY game.  Man, GCMPats that was terrible.  What happened to GCM?
Shut up. You have to be the most vicious, maniacal poster I have ever seen.  Really, I try to avoid reading any post with that baby smoking a cigarette because you're just out there to piss off everybody.  You act like Barber's Hill is this big, bad-A team that crushes everybody, and last time I checked they went 0-3 vs. teams from the triangle last year.  Really, you are coming down hard on HIGH SCHOOL kids, and you're coming down hard on a team that just doubled their opponents' yards.  An opponent that-by the way-donkey stomped Barber's Hill last year and returns 9 defensive starters.  And not to make excuses, but both of their tds were off LCM fumbles in close to red zone, and LCM had a td called back because of another stupid block in the back.  But really, no hard feelings to GCM or Barber's Hill in general
 18.
Saw this scrimmage last night and was impressed by the quickness from Silsbee. LCM looked out of sync and unable to finish drives in the red zone. Could not run ball to help open up the passing game. Seemed to be pressing a little bit after Silsbee scored a few times. They are probably a better team than they showed.
Hey, Silsbee got embarrassed by Kirbyville last week, while LCM outplayed 5A powerhouse Brazoswood.  In high school football, if one team plays flying around, mean, and focused, and the other's team head is so far up their own... You get the point, very disappointed in LCM.  Guess they thought that since they outscored Silsbee in last year's scrimmage that they didn't have to show up to play.  But they did play better in the third, after Coach Crouch obviously hurt some feelings at half-time.  While embarrassing, this is probably a good wake up call for an LCM team not used to being the team picked to win.  That being said, LCM had one touchdown called back for a penalty 10 yards behind the play, and a very questionable incomplete call on fourth down; so it wasn't as bad as the score indicated.
 19. Ok prickadickle let me be thorough.  Both teams first had 12 plays each starting at the 30 yard line.  If they couldn't move 10 yards in 3 plays or if they had a turnover they had to start back at the 30.  In the 24 plays that the first stringers had, LCM won 3 touchdowns to 1 touchdown.  Then they did some kicking game, followed by a game situation (sans special teams).  However, it was not just a first-string thing, and both teams were swapping subs in and out.  Brazoswood scored 1 touchdown and nailed about a 40 yard field goal.  I believe all of LCM's fans at the game were disappointed in the shape the Bears were in, as they had definately wore out by the end of the game. Besides that they looked pretty good.
 20.

Hey, good poll!  You hould be very happy as well!  Barber's Ant Mound got 11 votes!
Well, we lots of farmers and tons of Ortho too!  You probably missed the farm land while admiring our majestic mountain range.  ;D
See if you can even make a joke about a mountain range then you're not actually from Southeast Texas... ;D
 21.
I agree that Silsbee will be different.
They have like 14-16 returning starters.  When you say they "will be different" I think you really mean "without Jeremy Johnson" ;D
 22.
Go to receivers are going to be Turk and Lane for silsbee. Lcm secondary better watch out for them.
I figured Lane would have moved to QB.  Will he be doing any wildcat?
 23. Haha, this is back when they thought Moody was the real deal...man, I remember going to this game.  It was classic.  Game wasn't over until the final blow.  Great game.  But I think its funny how LCM volleyball kept saying that Nederland was going to score no more than 14, and they got 15...
 24. Game tomorrow night at Silsbee. This is not a "who-ya-got" thing, I just want to know what fans will be looking for, and expecting/hoping to see from both teams. It will be good to see how LCM handles Silsbee defense, especially considering that Silsbee and GCM run identical defenses.  Also, for once I would like to see the Bears establish a running game, although they will be without their will-be all-district OL/DL Hayden Reed. Defensively just good to see if the pass defense is as good as I've been hyping them up to be, because you really couldn't tell anything from the Brazoswood scrimmage, considering Brazoswood really couldn't pass on anybody last year.  But the Bears should match up well with Silsbee, so we will see.
