If WOS looks at the score of this game and compairs it to the Orangefield game......I don't know. HF is in sad shape right now. I dint think anyone can gage themselves against HF. Sad but true. WOS is going to win big. I just wouldn't let any football team, in any town, feel good about a convincing win over HF........Man I feel bad for them.

Orangefield has a bunch of kids going both ways. On a dry field they could get tired late in the game. Orangefield by 14. On a wet field their Offense will run all over HJ. That Offense is perfect for wet fields. Quick hitting and straight up the field. Orangefield by 30.

I was looking down at a five year old on the sideline one rainy day. He looked around to see if anyone was watching, spread out his arms and dove into a mud puddle. Silsbee D is a true Team Defense. If a players job is to stuff a lead blocker they do it. Up the middle or out on the edge it doesn't matter. They do it so that someone else can get the tackle.....Team Defense. Each game Silsbee has a leading tackler, but it changes game to game. That fact is good for Silsbee.

Coop...ya know the truth. No one really knows how this game is going to end. Both teams want the win. But......deep down you are thinking, "Boy, I hope WOS wins." You are not saying, "I know WOS will win.". Friday can't come soon enough.

No one from Silsbee has said that Jasper didn't win the game. Jasper wanted it, had the talent, had the time, had the plays, had the heart and stole something that was rightfully theirs. This year, how many times have a few WOS fans rang up a topic on their teams game play? 10-15? This is the 1st for Silsbee and we would prefer to have no more.

Over the top and jump ball are two different things. A jump ball, trusting the athlete to go get it, works 50% of the time. Jasper was due on that play. But hey...It was what it was. They are who we thought they are. You cant change it now. A HOLE NEW SEASON STARTS ON FRI. Internal charactor is built from the ground up. You can chose to lay down on the ground level or fight to get to the penthouse. Win Rocky Win! ;D

The one with the fewest turnovers will win. I would like the Tigers to win this one....... please.

Gotta question for the Silsbee Football parents. What do you tell your young men after the losses they have had? People say...."Its just a game." - It isn't just a game to my son. He has been taught to give 100% effort, 100% of the time. He does just that and I believe it shows. Shoot...a bunch of them boys do. Ive told him we can only control ourselves, and to look into a mirror if things are not going your way. Ask yourself what could you have done to change the outcome? If you know, change your actions and move on. I don't know. I'm at a loss for words. Its hard for a young man to keep motivated when he goes through stuff like this. Jasper...Good game. You pulled it out. Congratulations. Silsbee...The young men played hard tonight. I am proud of each and everyone of them. Sorry about the score.

This district will be more competitive this year. I don't believe that any of the teams are guaranteed 1st place. WOS has been the top dog a long time but the other teams are coming along just fine. WOS will always have a great Defense but the Offense has struggled this year. If a team plays great D against them and doesn't turn the ball over....WOS can be handed a loss. Silsbee looks a lot like WOS this year. After being jumped on by Dibal, Silsbees D has steped up. The Offense hasn't found its grove yet....but they usually come around the 5th or 6th week. If a team plays great Defense against them and doesn't turn the ball over....Silsbee can lose. Orangefield has a new attitude with fine coaching. They are opposites of WOS and Silsbee- great Offense with a Defense that hasn't found a grove. I have a feeling when district play starts the other teams are going to say..... "What just happend to us?" I don't know very much about the others but I feel these are the top three.

If it has playoff implications - it better be played.

Its Game day! The last two games Silsbee's D has shown up to play a little ball. This game they are facing an Offense that has big boys on the line. Silsbee is small up front so the D is going to have to do very well in the first half....Big boys normally win the battles up front later in the game. Five games into the season is when Silsbee's Offense normally starts to click....Hopefully that trend continues tonight. If the Offense plays up to the talent level they have, Jasper's great D will have their hands full. Silsbee early-Jasper late.......close game, good game.

Newton won the game but Orangefield is for real. The young men from Orangefield run onto the field, run off the field...no walking. When a coach calls a time out they take a knee look up, and listen... Not one of them look around talk or mess around. They play hard for four quarters...They don't relax for one single play. The town of Orangefield should be proud of their new coach and young men. When you looked at the players at the beginning of the game you would have thought Newton was playing a JV team due to Orangefields size. It didn't matter, Orangefield will take it to you...why.... the coach told them to. Love it. WOS and Silsbee better take notice. They both have athletes. Orangefield has football players.
