  1. Whoever wins, what is really going to change in Southeast Texas. Does it really matter?
  2. For a long time Freshman were on an entirely different campus and did not play varsity sports. Little Brook for Life.
  3. Position by position I'm not sure that the Beaumont schools match up very well with the teams in their district. North Shore lines up defensive backfield D1 straight across (in general). Usually with one or two D1 lineman a major college defensive end and a superstar linebacker. It's just Satan's District, all it is.
  4. I will not pretend to understand how all this works, but can't the GOP use the same mail-in-voting apparatus? What do those numbers look like?
  5. If you were to combine you would have many more athletes leave the district for the surrounding schools. Around half of those currently participating would not be on the team and inevitably some of those that stayed would eventually leave because it is easier to make the team elsewhere.
  6. Off hand, would you remember if any of them played sports?
  7. Oh wow, so all you have to do is be able to get there?
  8. Truth. But I was referring to open enrollment in surrounding districts. For 1K you can go to HJ, HF, EC and maybe a few others. Now I don't think you can play varsity your 1st year but the next year I believe you can.
  9. The dedicated middle school deal is a good idea. But with some of those schools going Charter it muddies the waters a little bit. If they don't want to attend they can go elsewhere which may or may not put them into the zone for the other school then come 9th grade I have no idea what happens.
  10. Open enrollment in surrounding districts is hurting Beaumont football. I would be curious to know how many kids from Beaumont are playing at surrounding schools. If it is even 30 that is a big number to take from WB and United.
  11. The West End folks don't send their kids to BISD schools anyway.
  12. What if they were to add a school? They could all be 4A or 5A. Then they could stay local, and stop having to go to Houston for everything. Might even save some money on travel.
