  1. BH 12 DAYTON 1 BH finishes district at least tied for 1st with a 10-4 record This was a great finish to the district schedule for BH. This would be a repeat of the pitching match up that was rained out a couple of weeks ago with Burditt for BH and Smesny for Dayton on the mound. Burditt pitched 5 strong innings for the win, giving up only 4 hits and Peterson pitched 2 strong innings in relief. BH would score 12 runs on 13 hits. BH took an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on a 2-out rbi single from Lyday to score Carmona who was hit by a pitch. The big inning would come in the top of the 3rd. After a pop up to shortstop, Colby Henscey would get things started with a mammoth solo HR that would clear the lights above the 355 ft. sign in left center (This would be Henscey's 4th HR in the last 5 games). Burditt would follow that by reaching on an error and after a fly ball out to center, Ponder would come through with a 2 out ground rule double to left putting runners at 2nd and 3rd. Alex Rocha would come up with the big hit, clearing the bases with a 2-out 3-run HR to left field giving BH an insurmountable 5-0 lead. BH would tack on 4 runs in the 5th. Lyday and Ponder walked, Rocha would come through again with a 2-run double to left. Clifton would reach on a single. Rocha and Clifton would both end up scoring on wild pitches to make the score 9-0 after the 5th. Both Smesny and Burditt would be pulled from the game after the 5th inning. BH would add a run in the 6th with a Carmona single followed by an rbi double down the left field line by Henscey. Dayton would score it's lone run in the 6th off of 2 errors and 1 hit but the threat would end with a nice 6-4-3 double play from Carmona and Clifton. BH would score it's final 2 runs in the 7th after a walk to Rocha, an rbi single from Clifton, and an rbi double down the left field line from Peterson. PITCHING Burditt - 5 ip, 4 hits, 0 runs, 5 bb, 6 Ks Peterson - 2 ip, 2 hits, 1 unearned run, 0 bb, 3 Ks OFFENSE Rocha - 2 for 3, HR, 2B, BB, 5 RBIs, 3 runs Henscey - 2 for 5, HR, 2B, 2 RBIs, 1 run Peterson - 2 for 3, 2B, RBI Clifton - 2 for 4, RBI, 2 runs
  2. BH and KP finish in a tie for 1st with a KP win over North Forest. BH beats Dayton 12-1 to finish 10-4. BH and KP will have 1 game playoff on Monday. Time and place unknown. Crosby finishes in 3rd. C.E. King takes the 4th spot with the win over G.C.
  3. Smesny threw the first 5 innings. Colby Henscey with a mammoth solo HR over the lights above the 355 ft. sign and Rocha with a 3-run HR to left for the big 4 run 3rd inning.
  4. I don't know who pitched yet, but I heard that Dayton had a 2-0 lead late in the game and pulled their starting pitcher. (Possibly to save him for today?) ???
  5. 19-4A Standings going into Saturday: 9-4 Barbers Hill (Plays Dayton) 9-4 Kingwood Park (Plays North Forest) 8-5 Crosby (Plays North Forest) 7-6 C.E. King (Plays GC Memorial) 6-6 Dayton (Playing BH and GP Saturday) 6-7 Galena Park (Play Dayton) 6-7 GC Memorial (Plays C.E. King) 0-12 North Forest (Plays Crosby and KP) Way too many scenarios to even discuss. Everyone is still in it except for North Forest.
  6. I believe you had to be nominated by your high school coach to be considered.
  7. I would be real surprised if Galena Park goes 2-1. Nothing would surprise me in this district with what's already happened this year!
  8. BH 16 NF 1 BH now 9-4 in district. BH pitched 5 pitchers an inning each tonight giving up only 2 hits and 1 run. 17. BH having an intrasquad game Tuesday evening at 6 pm. Looking forward to a little baseball action! ;D ;D
  18. Sounds like a great idea. Hopefully BH will do a little of this next week. I've never heard of BH ever having an intrasquad game. It would definitely give everyone something to do during the down time and give the players a little bit of game like conditions to keep them sharp. I especially could see the positives of hitting off of live pitching from the mound. That's something that can't be simulated from the shorter BP distances.
  19. What happens now with the remaining district games? ??? ???
  20. This was an earlier post and I believe is accurate: BH 8-4 Has Dayton and NF left KP 8-4 Has NF and GCM Left Cros 7-5 Has NF and GP left Day 6-5 Has BH, CEK and GP left No idea who will win. Lets see who takes care of business Yeah I saw this. I was just wondering if anyone had the game dates and times yet. Can Dayton for example play tonight or Thursday or will they have to play into next week? BH vs Dayton Thursday night BH vs. NF Friday night I'm assuming game times are back to 7pm. Not sure about the other teams.

  22. I agree. Too inconsistent! But it could get very exciting in the playoffs if a couple of these teams would start playing to their potential. They could definitely make some noise when playing at their best.
  23. They've got 3 tough games ahead of them and without a doubt they've got to win 2 of them to have a chance.
  24. Don't forget Carmona also at the plate. BH definitely will need a few more kids to step up at the plate and on the mound. I'd look for Carmona to see more time on the mound.
