  1. Thanks Diamond J. Does anyone know if the game is being broadcast on radio or the internet?
  2. I think they have a legit chance to take that game. Good luck!
  3. Overrated. Go BH win. That's what BH is hoping to prove! We'll find out Tuesday night!
  4. BH 10 VIDOR 1 BH wins the Bi-District Championship 2 games to 1! Barbers Hill would get a little bit of everything from a team that refused to bow out of the playoffs. We had outstanding poise, confidence, and composure on the mound, timely and clutch hitting from our lineup and a ton of heart from a player playing through some pain. Barbers Hill got an outstanding pitching performance from our starting SS Tony Carmona. Carmona would pitch a complete game 2 hitter, allowing only 1 run while striking out 8. Carmona was in command of the game from start to finish only allowing the runner that scored to reach 3rd base on the night. It looked like BH would take an early lead with both Padgett and Carmona leading off with bunt singles giving BH runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs. Colby Henscey would absolutely hammer a line drive that would have went to the fence scoring both runners but for the 2nd game in a row a runner would be doubled off at 2nd. The shortstop for Vidor would make a leaping grab of the line drive and would throw to 2nd to double off Padgett. After that the game would remain scoreless through the first 3 innings but things would change in a big way in the 4th. Colby Henscey would start the inning with a leadoff single. Burditt would push a bunt between the pitcher and first baseman for a hit moving Henscey to 2nd. Lyday would reach on an infield bloop hit that would land between the pitcher's mound and 2nd base to load the bases. Jake Ponder would come through with the big hit of the night, absolutely crushing a 1-0 fastball over the left center wall for the grand slam giving BH all the runs they would need. That was just the beginning of a huge inning for BH. Barbers Hill would score 10 runs on 10 hits in the inning. Rocha would follow Ponder's HR with a double down the right field line. Clifton would reach on an infield hit when nobody covered first on his bunt, leaving runners at 1st and 3rd and still no outs. Matt Peterson would come up and rip a 2-run double to the wall in left giving BH a 6-0 lead and still no outs. Padgett would reach on an error by the SS putting runners at 1st and 3rd. Carmona would single bringing in Peterson and putting runners at 1st and 2nd still with no outs making the lead 7-0. Colby Henscey would come up for the 2nd time in the inning and would come up with his 2nd hit in the inning ripping a 2-run double into the left field corner making the score 9-0. Burditt would get his 2nd infield hit of the inning, moving Henscey to 3rd base. Lyday would ground out to 3rd for the first out of the inning but Henscey would score on the play. Ponder would fly out to center and Rocha would ground out to 3rd to end the inning. Eleven consecutive hitters would reach base in the inning with 10 of them scoring before the 1st out was recorded. Needless to say that would be more than enough for Carmona to finish the game. Vidor would score their only run in the top of the 5th to make the final score 10-1. I was very impressed with the performance of this group of kids and the desire to compete and lay it on the line. This was a group of kids that were not only playing for themselves but they were playing for each other. Jake Ponder had the big hit of the night but I was more impressed with his gesture of appreciation for the performance of a teammate. Coach Stalbaum gave Ponder the game ball for his tremendous blast in the 4th inning but Jake felt that a teammate deserved that ball more than himself. Jake awarded the ball with a big hug to teammate Colby Henscey who played the entire game at SS for Carmona who was pitching. This was only the 2nd time that starting LF Henscey has played SS this year, but his performance was all the more impressive knowing that he played the entire game almost in tears from the excruciating pain he was experiencing from a migraine that started at the end of the first game. This wasn't something that would show up in the scorebook, but it is what being a team is all about. You have a player that lays it all on the line for his team and everyone on that team is aware of what he is doing and they show their appreciation both during and after the game. Great job boys and I can't wait to watch you guys against Brenham! PITCHING Carmona - 7 ip, 2 hits, 1 run, 3 bb, 8 Ks OFFENSE Ponder - 1 for 3, Grand Slam, 4 rbi, run Henscey - 2 for 4, 2b, 2 rbi, 2 runs Padgett - 3 for 4, run Carmona - 1 for 3, rbi, run Burditt - 2 for 4, run Peterson - 1 for 3, 2b, 2 rbi, run Lyday - 1 for 4, rbi, run Clifton - 1 for 3, run Rocha - 1 for 3, 2b
  5. No doubt about it. Thanks.
  6. Looking forward to it!
  7. BH 1 VIDOR 6 Bi-District series tied 1-1 BH got in a hole early and never could recover. Padgett would lead the game off with a hard single to left and would end up at 2nd with a misplay from the left fielder. BH would be unable to advance the runner after a pop-up in the infield, a fly ball to center, and a strikeout. Alex Rocha would get the start for BH on the mound, and he would run into trouble immediately. The leadoff hitter would rip a double into the left field corner, the next hitter would single him home. Rocha would get a 6-3 groundout from the next hitter but would give up consecutive rbi singles after that to give Vidor the early 3-0 lead with 1 out and a runner on 1st. Matt Peterson would come on in relief. He would hit the first 2 batters he faced to load the bases. Vidor would get a sac fly from the next hitter driving in the 4th run of the inning. Peterson would get a pop up to SS to end the inning with BH trailing 4-0. Lyday would reach on an error to start the 2nd, but would be left at 1st base after a strikeout, flyball to left, and a groundout to 1st. Vidor would add 1 run to their lead in the 2nd when Peterson would again hit the first batter he faced. A sac bunt and single would move the runner to 3rd, and a sac fly would bring him home giving Vidor a 5-0 lead after 2 innings. BH would again leave a runner stranded in scoring position in the 4th inning with a bit of bad luck. Colby Henscey would lead off the inning by ripping a double into the right center power alley. Jay Burditt would rip a line drive just to the right of 2nd base that normally would have been an rbi single at worst, but ended up being a double play because of the 2nd baseman being at the base holding Henscey on. He would catch the line drive and step on 2nd base for the double play. Daniel Mitchell would come on to pitch the final 3 innings for BH allowing one run. BH would again threaten in the 6th inning with their best opportunity of the game. Colby Henscey would once again lead off the inning by ripping a double into the left field corner. Henscey would move to 3rd on a groundout from Burditt. Lyday would score Henscey with an RBI single. Ponder would come through by ripping a double of his own into the left field corner giving BH runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Both runners would be stranded there after a Rocha strikeout, and a 4-3 groundout from Clifton. Vidor would get the run back in the bottom of the 6th after a walk, a hit batter, and an rbi double to make the final score 6-1. PITCHING Rocha - 1/3 ip, 4 hits, 4 runs Peterson - 2 2/3 ip, 1 hit, 1 run, 2 bb, 3 hbp Mitchell - 3 ip, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 bb, 2 k, 1 hbp OFFENSE Henscey - 2 for 4, 2 doubles, run Lyday - 2 for 3, rbi Ponder - 1 for 3, double Peterson - 1 for 2
  8. BH 13 VIDOR 3 BH leads series 1-0 This was a great start to the playoffs for BH. Jay Burditt would get the start on the mound and would give BH a solid 6 innings of work only allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits and striking out 6. Vidor would put up 2 runs in the 1st inning on 2 hits and a walk. BH would come right back in the bottom of the 1st. Padgett led off with a walk and stole 2nd. Carmona followed that with an infield single to move Padgett to 3rd. Henscey would plate Padgett with a sac. fly to left field. Burditt would walk moving Carmona to 2nd and Lyday would follow that with an RBI single scoring Carmona. BH would end up leaving the bases loaded making the score 2-2 after 1 inning. The score would remain that way until the 5th inning. Vidor would start the inning with the leadoff reaching 2nd courtesy of an error on a fly ball to right. A groundout would move the runner to 3rd, and a single would give Vidor a 3-2 lead after Burditt would end the rally with a bases loaded strikeout. BH would unload on Vidor in the btm. of the 5th bringing 10 hitters to the plate. Henscey would start things off with a single and Burditt would move him to 2nd with a sac. bunt. Lyday would single to left scoring Henscey with the tying run. Lyday would go to 2nd on the throw to home from the left fielder. Jake Ponder would give BH the lead for good on the next pitch with a towering blast to left field for a 2-run HR. That would only be the beginning of what would become a hit parade. Rocha with a triple, Clifton walked, and then Matt Peterson would unload with a 3-run blast of his own over the left center field wall to give BH an 8-3 lead after the 5th. Vidor would go down in order in the 6th and BH would tack on 5 more runs on 5 hits to end the game with a 10 run win. The big hit again would come from Ponder with a 2-run HR, his 2nd of the game. A huge night at the plate from BH with 13 runs on 15 hits with 3 of those hits being HRs. BH will play in Vidor Friday night at 5 pm hoping to close the series out and move on to the area round of the playoffs. PITCHING Burditt - 6 ip, 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, 3 bb, 6 Ks OFFENSE Ponder - 2 for 4, 2 HRs, 5 rbi, 2 runs Lyday - 3 for 3, 2 rbi, 2 runs Carmona - 3 for 5, 2b, run, rbi Peterson - 2 for 3, HR, 4 rbi, run Rocha - 2 for 3, 2b, 3b, 2 runs Burditt - 1 for 2 Henscey - 1 for 3, rbi, run Padgett - 1 for 4, 2b, run, sb
  9. Weird arrangement with the bathrooms and concession, but it is a very nice field.
  10. You 20-4A guy's might want to look out for Crosby and Kingwood Park. Either one of them could win their respective series. 19-4A was pretty solid this year. Good pitching and some excellent hitters from top to bottom. You may be right, but a combined 25-4 score for three games last night does not help your argument...20-4A laid a licking on 19-4A last night 1. Not too surprised by the King/Ned score. Ned is head and shoulders over King. 2. Thought Crosby would do a little more on the offensive side, however, Shane Waddel is an outstanding pitcher. The tide may have turned to LCM's favor in this one. 3. K Park is not good enough to play without one of their better players. If Salters (I assume he is the player that was injured in football) can not make a "go" of it, PNG will win in 2. 4. Barbers Hill should handle Vidor. Come on 19-4A, REPRESENT! I agree. I would expect Crosby to battle and make a series of it but King is overmatched and K Park will struggle without Salters, PNG's sticks are way to good to go without your best. I expect BH to take the series against Vidor.
  11. Yes it is. Field is right behind the school.
  12. If that's true, they should be ashamed! Found out it is true and your right, they should be ashamed!
  13. coogs just making to many errors Listened to it on KOGT and it sounded like LCM hit the ball very good ,did not hear about to many errors. Congrats to LCM on the win. There were only 2 errors for Crosby but they were big. LCM scored their first 3 runs as a result of those 2 errors. You have to give LCM the credit though, they did take advantage of those errors and got some big hits. That's what the good teams do!
  14. That sucks! You would think with the team being in the playoffs he would have been excused from the football drills. I wish him the best and good luck to you guys.
  15. I heard that KP's #1 pitcher received a concusion in football drills on Tuesday. Unable to play. Could someone from KP verify this?
  16. Not sure, but I heard that KP's #1 pitcher received a concusion yesterday in football drills. Unable to play. ??? ???
  17. Crosby errors are killing them. 2 errors lead to all 3 runs.
