  1. I was impressed by Vidor last year. It seems like ya'll should have done better last year.
  2. Dayton's JV is looking OK. A little rusty, but lots of potential mostly sophmores (90%). They beat Caney Creek last night 11-7. The bad part is CC only had 1 hit. So we looked pretty sloppy at the beginning of the game.
  3. Smesny is sophmore and this was his first Varsity outing. Great job Frank!
  4. Here is a link to Chevy Prep Ticket game review video. In it #14 obviously blocks the field goal. I had never seen this view before. By the way #14 was the All-State DB mentioned in Diamond-J post. Just scroll down to Dayton vs. Beaumont Central 10/30/2006 [Hidden Content]
  5. Easy big Fella, There were two players involved on that FG block. Ford Smesny #14 and John Gable #5 both of them made plays all night. It was a good game no reason to slight anybody, we just ended up making the play to win the game. Could have easily went the other way. You won't hear any Dayton people running down Central, we know they are for real.
  6. I know a little about this district, and I agree with you BH and Huffman will be in the top 3 teams in this district.
  7. Not to mention an entire Varsity season under their belt going into their junior year. I will utilize a quote from the infamous Heffe in Three Amigos: "Could it be, that once again you(play-ball!!) are mad at someone else and looking to take it out on me?" ;D
  8. Thats just wrong. : Actually, I thought Vidor was right on the verge last year. Lots of good athletes out there it just didn't seem to come together.
  9. You are right we didn't go far but, it was the second round when we lost to Texas City. As far as the play off experience for Sophomores is concerned, I would consider 2 playoff games for a Soph. some experience. Not many sophmores in this district got any playoff games under their belt. You with me on that?
  10. How many deer were taken on your lease? You know at the first sound of a rifle every deer in East Texas goes nocturnal.
  11. I believe we got canceled do to sloppy, muddy, crawfish farm type field conditions.
  12. What area are you hunting in?
  13. You can put a jalapeno and bacon on just about anything and make it edible. All joking aside there is a guy in Dayton who makes jerky out of duck and goose. I heard it was excellent, the guy that told me said he would never let another duck go bad in his freezer.
  14. Become a Hunter Education Instructor The Hunter Education Program's goals are to reduce hunting related accidents and violations; promote safe, responsible and knowledgeable hunting; and enhance hunting traditions and values. We now have more than 2,900 instructors, who include game wardens, volunteers and professional educators. These volunteer instructors certify an average of 30,000 students per year. The average volunteer only stays involved about 3 years. If you love the outdoors it is a good way to give back. Feel free to email or PM me if you have any questions. TPWD link: [Hidden Content]
  15. If a Snowgoose makes it past it's first hunting season it has an 80% likelyhood of living at least 7-8 years. We used to be able pick off the younger less wary birds but now they are out numbered by the old ones. Goose huntin is hard hunting at best.
  16. Tues. 2/13 Dayton @ Crosby 4:00 Fri. 2/16 Huffman @ Dayton 4:00
  17. I like it too. It is just hard to find time to sit and watch.
  18. Hey, he has played QB before. Really.
  19. This is a great website, you can watch full length episodes of several different hunting and fishing shows. Check it out. [Hidden Content]

  21. Yeah, snow in South Texas. You would have had a better chance at winning the lottery.
