Our defense is doing good but it is a different defense than 06'-08'. It's hard to make comparisons from year to year and I know everyone is excited but this is not our best defense in the last 5 years. Statistics for District Play: Year      PF       PA 2006     269      49 2007     252      28 2008     319      71 2009     284      101 2010     353      47 This years defense is good but, when you consider the quality of the opponents in 06'-07' defenses would have held Livingston 2010 to little or nothing.
Stats or whatever may say it's not....I just happen to think it is personally.  2007 was a great defense no doubt about it, statistically the best in the state if I'm not mistaken.  I still believe the defense from '03 or '04 (whichever year we lost to Bay City) was the best one Stewart's had.
I was simply disputing the claim that this was the best defense in the last 5 years in a previous post.
 2. Next year we'll just use the BCS computer, that'll remove all the human error as well as common sense.
 3.
"'07 - that D was really good. Hated to go out like we did but LT was on a different planet once they grabbed the momentum." No doubt. A great defense and an offense that was really clicking. Definitely got beat by the best in the state that year.
Remember this  ;D my favorite highlight of that game. [img][Hidden Content]]
True what Bronco 1 said however 06-07-08-09 teams never ever played 3 tuffer pre-dist teams than this years group. But in comparison looking down the playoff road ahead I don't see any Garret Gilbert's/Tyrik (the freak) Rollinson's either standing in our way ;)
There is no doubt with the way the first round worked out our chances are much greater for a deep run.
 5. No doubt, the last two years may have been a lot different with everyone healthy.
 6.
In 08 they (livingston) had two big backs that had a big night rushing the ball the big back did nothing the little fast backs and QB did it mostly with trick plays I still say this D is better.
That was exactly my point we weren't well suited in 08' for Livingstons offense but we held them in check. We didn't have an issue with speed in 08' we had very fast secondary it was the size that we struggled with. Don't get me wrong I believe this years defense is good, but if you asked a player who played on that team in 08' and is still playing I would imagine he would agree with me.

 8. He's back now BH89-2 his to honor the bet. ;D
And Dayton is on a 7 game winning streak while the Brook is coming off of a loss.  The voters (WHICH I CHOSE) know plenty about football. And you wonder why you are getting smited?
I don't care about the smites.  7 game winning streak against who?  Who have the beat this year, and likewise, who have they lost to?    Compare anything you want, it can't be justified.     Anyone who voted that way  would still line up to bet on Brook giving 10 if they played.  You know it and I know it.     Whatever man.  I promise I will never comment on one of your polls again.
What is your top ten, just curious? I would like to compare the poll and your opinion of the top ten. I agree Westbrook is the team to beat in SETX, but these are rankings not results. Kirbyville deserves some credit for the season they just put together, I think they'll win state. Any comment I make concerning Dayton will be perceived as biased so I won't bother.
 10.
Well, when they play next year it could be anyone's game.  Dayton has to get past the BH re-match this year..... ;D ;D
I like our chances in that match up , BH still doesn't have an offense.
 11.

Does Rip have more left in the tank when playing linebacker or when playing DE and TE/T on offense.  Less running is involved with the offensive and defensive line line scenario, but he is really good at LB.  What do you guys think? I REALLY like the Defensive line when Rip, Wright, and Toussant are playing.  Don't forget that Booth can play a little Defensive End as well.  Can you imagine how nasty the combo of those four players would be subbing in and out on the Defensive line?
I know what you mean Dude. I like the looks of those big three on the line, but I think it will depend on the type of offense we're facing. Playing LB will give him freedom to rome to whichever gap he's needed. I would think LB against Livingston would the best spot for him, but who knows. The other LB's are playing tough now also. Duff, Bugsby, and #35 (forget name) are pretty stout in their own right. I'm gonna trust the coaches on this one, but if they call me to ask my opinion, I'll be ready. ;D
#35 is Jake Choate
 12. As bad as I hate to say it, Crosby will win this one. Nederland is one and done.
 13.
Well the safety they have now will do the same. Xavier Baldwin
Xavier started as a sophomore back there with Dylan, X can get it done, the only problem is their Rb's might not get that far back on this years linebackers. They wouldn't have in 08' if Fred Hynson and Moises Herrera would have been back there at LB.
A friend said Stallworth Baytown Time ???
Thats literally a home game for GP!
It won't matter how close it is to GP, Central will have more fans there. All 120 GP fans will be cheering wildly. ;D ;)
 15. If Livingston really is as good as 08' it'll be tough but, I find it hard to believe they'll be stronger than that 08' bunch.
Our safety had 19 tackles that game, 12 solos and 7 assists.
He was a good one alright! How's he doing anyway? Is he still playing ball in Louisiana? wow... that kid must've been good.  ;D
I thought he was pretty dang good.  ;D

He (Dylan Bethea) went to Abilene Christian, broke his hand, currently attending San Jac, tranferring in the Spring to play ball, hopefully. Ford Smesny is who you must be thinking of that went to McNeese, he graduated in 07'. He is still their, starting Buck Safety.

 19.
This poll is so biased I would be ashamed if I was a voter.
Post your top ten in each group, I am sure someone will find your picks biased as well. I vote and I am not ashamed, its harder than you would think.
Not surprised that a Bronco would want to get this thread back on its intended topic.  LOL
Dude, are you serious? I am sick of every thread turning into a Dayton vs BH diarrhea of the mouth shootout, I don't know who's worse but I am leaning toward Dayton.
