Probably more money, but not much more. He's going to need that extra money to buy a ticket to watch the playoffs because that's the only way he'll see them this year.
He must be getting alot more money... since this years score will be GCM 28 - BH 7.
This is Crosby's last year to win district and Dayton's not "on the rise."
The above statement means tha BH is gonna have a few tough years ahead of them. If Dayton isn't on the Rise, then BH is in trouble, pound for pound, player for player, Dayton will just be to much for the Hill from now till at least 2014.
Comparing CE King to Ike is a little like comparing Rice to Texas. Refresh my memory on this CE King D-1 running back? Ike has 10-15 D1 players on their team in any one year. It's a whole different animal. Dayton will not be as big, fast or athletic as Ike. That doesn't matter though as we have already established that big, quick and fast do not necessarily always prevail.
Alvester Alexander 166/1348 yds and 19 TD's.

TFM ranks West Brook, Dayton high in preseason By Dave Rogers The Baytown Sun Published June 18, 2010 [Hidden Content]] The road from District 21-5A to the high school football playoffs is always tough for someone not named North Shore High, but this fall, it could be tougher than ever. And Crosby’s road to a District 19-4A title repeat is predicted to include a traditional roadblock. That’s according to Texas Football Magazine, in its just released annual preview of high school, college and pro football in the Lone Star State. TFM has picked not only North Shore but Beaumont West Brook as well to its preseason Top 10 in Class 5A. And Dayton is a No. 13 pick in Class 4A, the only 19-4A team in the magazine’s preseason Top 25. For the record, 21-5A’s top two teams check in at No. 9 for North Shore, one of its lower predictions in a while, and No. 10 for West Brook. That’s a lofty ranking for the Beaumont school, but perhaps one that’s late in coming. The Bruins, in their five years under coach Craig Stump, have been one of the more successful teams in the state in the playoffs, having played in 13 post-season games and never failed to reach the second round. North Shore is the only school in the district with a player — offensive lineman Sedrick Flowers, a University of Texas commit — on its Super Team (first-team). But West Brook offensive lineman Justin Brock is the district’s lone pick on TFM’s preseason all-state team. Go figure. And both the preseason picks for 21-5A offensive MVP — quarterback Bruce Reyes — and defensive MVP — linebacker Collin Garrett — are West Brook players. Worst news for Baytown Sterling in the magazine’s predictions is the fact the Rangers are not among the four teams picked to make this fall’s playoffs. The predicted order of finish by the TFM editors is North Shore first, West Brook second, Port Arthur Memorial third and move-in La Porte fourth. Sterling and Channelview follow. The magazine’s predicted order of finish in 19-4A has both Goose Creek Memorial and Barbers Hill making the playoffs with former 21-5A member Lee on the outside looking in. There’s Dayton No. 1, Crosby No. 2, GCM No. 3 and Barbers Hill No. 4, followed by Lee, Galena Park, C.E. King and North Forest in that order. Crosby is listed as a “dark horse,†in the magazine’s Class 4A preview, meaning a second-straight win over Dayton, or a long playoff run for the Cougars wouldn’t be a surprise. Dayton defensive lineman Darrian Wright is on the magazine’s preseason all-state team. The preseason 19-4A MVP picks are Crosby quarterback Dominic Merka and Wright. Newton, which returns 1,700-yard rusher Kelvin Bennett, is ranked No. 2 in Class 3A by TFM. That’s bad news for Anahuac, which is in the same District 10-2A Division I with the Eagles. The magazine’s predicted order of finish in 10-2A II is Newton No. 1, East Chambers No. 2 and Anahuac No. 3, as the playoff qualifiers; followed by Buna, Woodville, Hardin, Kountze and Warren in that order. Both East Chambers and Anahuac make the five-team list of Class 2A “dark horses,†so it figures 10-2A II should be one of the state’s top districts. East Chambers quarterback Hank Jones is the Offensive MVP pick with Newton defensive lineman Krishon Seastrunk the Defensive MVP. East Chambers offensive lineman Kylor Weisse is a preseason all-state pick by TFM. The magazine also annually lists Texas’ top 300 college recruiting prospects and three local players earn “best of the rest†honors at their positions. At wide receiver, that’s a nod to Sterling’s Chance Nelson. Barbers Hill’s Jeremy Neff is on the offensive lineman list and Wright makes the defensive lineman list for Dayton. The top three picks for Class 5A are Euless Trinity No. 1, Abilene No. 2 and Katy No. 3. For 4A, it’s Lake Travis at No. 1 picked to four-peat, Aledo at No. 2 and Brenham at No. 3. In Class 3A, Lovejoy is No. 1, Brownwood No. 2 and Celina No. 3. Classes 2A and A were divided into big school (I) and small school (II) divisions by the UIL this season, also by TFM. In 2A Division I, top picks are Daingerfield No. 1, Newton No. 2, Littlefield No. 3; in 2A-II it’s Refugio at No. 1, West Rusk No. 2, and Arp No. 3. Class A has Goldthwaite No. 1, Mart No. 2 and Stratford No. 3 in Division I, with Tenaha No. 1, Falls City No. 2 and Springlake-Earth No. 3 in Division II.

Word of warning to bh89-2.... If you are enjoying a hot dog during the Eagles first district game (probably topped off with Grey Poupon) I hope you have a large amount of Pepcid AC, because I sense a serious dose of heart burn as reality once again hits the Hill. Need I remind you of Barbers Hill record against Dayton since moving up to 4A.... As for Crosby, when they play Dayton it will be a war.... Only time will tell who the winner of that game will be, if Dayton gets through their pre-district schedule healthy, it won't be good news for any team in 19-4A.
That hot dog, heart burn or not, is going to taste great knowing someone from Dayton had to buy it. ;) ;) I swear, you Dayton folks are reminding me more and more of West Orange Stark. All they got to talk about is historical issues. What is most impressive is how everytime another team beats them they praise the other team as if they have accomplished something great and are a very tough team, al of a sudden. Until after Crosby spanked you, they sucked by most Dayton fans account. Same way WOS bashed Kirbyville for so many years, until Kirbyville beat them. BH should have spanked you, had it not been for very poor coaching. When are you going to learn I am never wrong? Bet your bank account or gamble your pig: Crosby BH Dayton GCM/Lee By the way, Barbers Hill has a new auction site where they sell outdated or surplus items. Pass it along to your football team they can pick up a laptop for about $60 or so. Hate for someone to get in trouble over laptops again. ;D ;D Got to love a little pre-season smack!
You're right, you should've spanked us and our first-game-to-ever-start-quarterback. ::) But instead you got a taste of things to come (this year) in that third quarter and hate when PURPLE 4EVER brings it up. Coaching is part of the game just like officiating is, which coincidentally made a very close call taking a TD away in the corner of the endzone which I believe would have gave us a 14 or 21 pt lead and this wouldn't even be a conversation. As far as historical issues go talking about a state title run in '86 and deep runs the past 3 years (semis, finals, quarters) is hardly the same thing. Okay, I'm ready.... tell me how good BH is in all the other sports.
Oh No, "other sports" don't matter now. Tell all those people in purple to put their goats away and get off that stump. BH and Crosby are coming to put a whippin on ya.... ;D ;D
I hear you bh89-2, its great to see BH has a positive attitude. I have ran my lines, fed the sheep (sheep are more tame than goats), sold the axels off of my pre-manufactured home, brushed my tooth, put on my Sunday go to meet'n overalls, and kissed my wife/cousin good night. Now I have the time to tell ya'll that Crosby will go back to where they belong and BH doesn't have a chance to beat either team.

Crosby is King of the Hill till someone knocks them off! They won the district and braggin rights until they lose them. I am sure the Broncos are eager to meet them and see if they deserve to stay there.

AD doesn't have the final say, I am pretty sure the Adminstration and School Board have alot of say on hiring and firing.
The point was that 4A is easier than 5A, much the same point I made a few months ago. I don't care to talk trash to any team specifically, as I am a Gander fan, and am in no position to talk trash to anyone. Lee has been down for a few years. The only point that I have made is that 5A is tougher than 4A, which was just re-emphasized for me in the fact that this appears like a tough schedule to a 4A team. To a 5A team, that is just a middle of the road schedule of teams to play.
All I am saying is that it is a tough schedule for a 4A team, not appears to be. We all know 5A on average is better than 4A, afterall they are 5A. Pearland Dawson is 4A and they have done well against their pre-district 5A opponents. I understand your point but I am not sure you see mine.

Don't want to belabor the point, as I realize that Lee is not a world beater, but that is a run of the mill schedule for a 5a team. If you're a 5a team, and you schedule Angleton, Ike and Elkins, then no one would blink an eye. It would be on par with what everyone else is playing. The fact that a 4a team is playing those teams, it makes it seem like a difficult schedule. This is why it is obviously a little more of an even playing field for a 5a team that comes down to 4a. That rigorous pre-district schedule for Dayton would essentially carry on at that difficulty level for 7 more games for a 10 game season if you were in 5a.
You make somewhat of a point ,but you understate some key issues. Its hardly par if a small D-2 4a school plays a much larger 5a school and thats what were talking about 4a not 5a vs 5a. And it doesn't seem more difficult it is more difficult. I do agree that moving down to 4a ought to be to Lee's advantage, but I think your going to find 19-4a is going to be very competitive to say the least.
Let me see if I got the point of all this, I assume you are saying on average 5A teams are better than 4A teams. The science behind that is the fact that 5A schools typically have a larger talent pool than 4A. So for a 5A school to play a 4A school means 1 of 2 things for the 5A school, either they want to whip up on a smaller school or they think the smaller school is worthy competition. The benefit for a 4A scholl is the fact that by default 5A schools are better than 4A schools, which gives the 4A school stiff competition early on. Anyway 5A schedules are supposed to be harder, they are 5A. The fact is the only school in Lee's pre-district schedule that would give Dayton trouble is LaPorte. If you want to talk smack to Dayton let it rip. Don't beat around the bush. ;D
