Didnt say he wasnt a good coach but if you really beleive Herrera is the better choice at QB then you dont know anything about football. In a football game when its crunch time you put the ball in your best players hand. Payton touched the ball 10 times in the game and scored 3 of them. I have been to every game for the last 10 years and will always be a bronco fan and this was the worst decision i have seen. The past 2 years we got beat by the better team. This year I put it on Stewart. Sorry.
I bet if you drive to the school and find Coach Stewart he would be glad to discuss these issues with you. In fact I know he would be glad to address some of your concerns. But. I for one don't care hear anymore of your senseless rambling, If you've watched every game for the last ten years then you know you are wrong.
 2.
If payton shoulder was hurting why was he on kick of coverage he didnt look hurt when he ran down the field laying people out. Even if he never threw a pass he is the better QB. Look at the numbers for the game Herrera completed 5 passes.
Your screen name should be anything but, "bronco pride". Stewart is exactly the reason you can say that. The success Dayton has achieved is a direct result of what he has done for the program. Climb back under your rock and leave Bronco Football discussion to the real fans.
 3.
The Coaching at Dayton was awesome this year! The only think that I would have questioned was riding the Soph. QB that deep in the playoffs. He is a good QB ,but didn't seem to have the composure/vision that the starter had. Ploche (Sorry if I killed the spelling in the name)in my opinion should have been taking all of the snaps in this game. On the other hand though the Soph. QB should be battle tested and will be something to watch for the next two years.  It just seemed like Ploche talent was under utilized in such a big game.
Brenham this is in no way discrediting what you did Saturday, you deserve to keep playing. I am posting the this for the coaching nay sayers. Quote from TXHSA Magazine: For the many fans in the stands that disagreed with Coach Stewart about things that did or did not happen, it may be that things went on not everyone knew about. “Tony Hill got hurt in the first quarter, and we think he may have some ACL damage, so we couldn’t put him on defense anymore. That hurt us on the running game because Tony is pretty tough in the middle. Payton Ploch hurt the shoulder of his right arm and couldn’t throw much so we couldn’t put him at quarterback much. We tried massage and heating it up – the back of his shoulder blade. So, those things happen during a ball game and sometimes things just go bad.”

 5. You can get their stats at Chron.com. My son was on the Dayton 07' team, he had one of the few highlights for Dayton that game. He's the one that had the interception on Gilbert's only bad throw.  :D

 8.
just so everyone knows coach stewart and the broncos stole that from coach flannigan and the cougars
Just so everyone knows, BIGLEW66 has no idea whats he is talking about. Do you think Coach Stewart built that little video? No he built the program that has scored 386 points to 169 and won 10 of 12 games since 1998. It's not a rivalry anymore.
 9.
TASO's lawsuit will destroy the UIL...I'll say it here right now....TASO has decided that since they can't get what they want,  they'll just bring the UIL to it's knees and to heck with the kids of Texas.....THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THIS LAWSUIT IS ALLOWED TO GO ON....TASO hasn't looked at the unintended consequences of their actions....TASO is going to look very bad when this all pans out and that shyster lawyer they hired will laugh all the way to the bank.....
The only way this would bring the UIL "to it's knees" is if they find wrong doing in the investigation of this case. TASO only wants the UIL to recognize them as always. The UIL wants to collect fees, fees, and more fees. Like I said the only way this hurts the UIL is if this causes officials to look further into the financial records and find something wrong. P.S. Maybe you should go look for a Global Warming forum to spread your tales of gloom and doom.  ;)
 10.

It's a shame that TASO believes that they are more important than the kids of this state who are served and have been served excellently by the UIL since 1910....
Having met a lot more TASO officials than UIL ones, I can feel comfortable saying that I have more confidence in TASO being correct on this one than the UIL is.  Also, the UIL of 1910 is not the UIL of today.  I beleive that TASO will prevail in this lawsuit.
I'll agree with that.
 11. Did a little weather map survey. The Dakotas are frozen, South Nebraska's highs will be below freezing starting Sunday 12/6 through Thursday 12/10. South Kansas high's will below freezing starting Monday 12/7 through Wednesday 12/9. I predict a good opener for the second half.
 12. OK, here is the way it works: Defense - the louder the better. Offense - silence is golden. It isn't a cheer competition the other fans are trying to distract and confuse your offense when they cheer loud for their defense.
Ya, I think we might have to join in on the party this time....   ;)
Good, we would love to have Brenham's support heading into the next round.  ;D
 14.
anybody else not seeing that many ducks in the nome china area over the rice fields??? we had a real good teal season and opening weekend, but since then we have just been killn two r three everytime we go, and acutally had three trips in a row when we didnt fire a shot... talk to a few more people in that are and its been the same for them.. maybe the split will bring more big birds down to the fields
The split should help, I heard yesterday that a big migration of Green wings is still north of us. If that is true the big ducks are behind them, this little run of cold weather ought to get'em down here.
 15.
Its a great recruiting tool.  In team sports, if you do things right, you can win.  It doesn't take this good of a facility to get it done.  Newton being a good example in our own back yard.  But make no mistake, poeple want to be associated with winners so people with means will move there kids to a program like LT or Southlake so they can have that championship experience.
True, Very True.
 16.

I couldn't resist, the LT thread about their fancy facilities set me off. :)
Dayton is very good and talented, dont get me wrong.  But, How did a Lake Travis (State Campions) thread set you off?
I didn't mean set me off in a bad way. I have nothing but respect for Lake Travis, and I am proud for them to have such nice facilities. I was just trying to be funny. Sorry, I "set you off".  ;)
 17. You're closer than me, I'll give you some gas $ if you go.  ;D
 18. I couldn't resist, the LT thread about their fancy facilities set me off. :)
 19. Facilities are great but, its heart, talent, and coaching that makes a team Championship material.
 20. Daytons weight room: We are real serious about winning. [img][Hidden Content]] ;D ;D
 21.

Ok thanks...lol, good we won't have to see him next year, though i'm sure we'll have plenty of other things to deal with.
:D i believe so
No doubt, we have lots of sophomores getting experience this year. There are several kids who will be starting as sopomores next year as well. To be honest this year was my only concern because it goes up from here. The next 5-6 years are gonna be great.
 22.
Coach Price did a good job trying to stay on top of 2 jobs (AD/HC). It is time to step it up and have a coach who is up to speed and current on Football only and have an AD to watch over the budget, all sports and teams. What I noticed from watching our football teams versus the teams that beat us is that the other teams knew how to make adjustments (at halftime) toward what we did and we never did adjust for the them. Case in point, we went back to running the QB and throwing passes the whole PNG game and just 3 weeks before we were running Stubbs (McMillan hurt) and making good gains. We had the chance to run Stubbs and McMillan the 2nd half to ADJUST and we never saw them. To me, that is bad coaching. We would have been in the game if we had. That happened al year. Just My 2 cents.
Dayton's AD/HC doesn't seem to have any problems juggling both jobs. Price is a good coach, if BH wants change then change it. You don't have to villainize a good man to make it OK. It sounds like a done deal, thank him for what he has done for BH Athletics and move on.
