  1. i agree soulja dayton had better concentrate on the game at hand and quit worring bout who they play in round 1 . lats beat kingwood park the worry bout next week :o No see that's the thing...it absolutely doesn't matter what happens in our game as we've already clinched the district and we're playing an 0-9 team that got their head beat in every game in their first year of existence. Hence, we're all looking forward to the first round of the playoffs as that is the next meaningful game. Coaches and players will be concentrating on this game...doesn't mean the fans are. Exactly, the team is preparing for Kingwood Park and the fans are preparing for round 1. A victory over Kingwood Park is necessary to complete an undefeated District Championship. I am sure they would love to upset the Broncos, they will play hard you can bet on that. That said, our backups will get some much needed playing time the second half, to get them ready for playoffs.
  2. I don't like the idea of taking anyone lightly...especially in the playoffs. Lumberton will try to grind it out and if they can come out fired up and take control of the ball, then they could turn it into an ugly game. I don't think that will be the case but I just wish Dayton would take the ball for once when they win the coin toss and jump out to an early lead. Making a running team play catch-up usually amounts to a W. That being said, they looked unstoppable against King but Green's inconsistency bothers me for a deep playoff run. Put that Lake Travis QB on this team and I'd bet they would end up 16-0. That kid was the best passer I've ever seen in a high school game. Didn't hurt when his receivers also made 3 one-handed catches. He is inconsistant at about a 65% completion rate, one of the highest in the SE Texas.
  3. Lumbertons defense will be tough enough, L-Town by 1 td.
  4. Great point, they are running a business that caters to their supporters/community. On another note, we need to stay under the radar anyway. More media coverage doesn't make us a better team. Of course we would all like to see our kids get recognition but if we keep winning they will get it.
  5. A Dayton player will get the offensive MVP, most likely Green. As far as defense, come on fellas y'all are being a little one-sided. If it was team MVP for defense it would be Jordan Baxter he is leading in tackles. District wide defensive stats are not as readily available as offensive so who knows who the coaches will see as MVP. Chad Stapleton has been a great and much needed addition to the defense but, the fact that he hasn't played all year will be a factor. Chads stats have suffered and he will most likely not be in the running since the award is based on regular season stats.
  6. Current District Standings: Lumberton (4-1) Beaumont Central (4-1) Livingston (4-1) Vidor (3-2) Nederland (3-2) Port Neches-Groves (1-4) Beaumont Ozen (1-4) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (0-5) This week 10/31 Lumberton over LCM Beaumont Central over Livingston Vidor over Nderland Beaumont Ozen over PNG That will make: Lumberton (5-1) Beaumont Central (5-1) Livingston (4-2) Vidor (4-2) Nederland (3-3) Port Neches-Groves (1-5) Beaumont Ozen (2-4) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (0-6) Next week 11/7 Lumberton over Nederland Beaumont Central over PNG Vidor over Livingston Beaumont Ozen over LCM That will make: Lumberton (6-1) Beaumont Central (6-1) Vidor (5-2) Livingston (4-3) Nederland (3-4) Beaumont Ozen (3-4) Port Neches-Groves (1-6) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (0-7) Lumberton will win out, and get their piece of the Championship again. I will admit I didn't think they would but, they will. So welcome to the playoffs for 2 years straight.
  7. Freshman Dayton 16 King 6 JV Dayton 22 (I think, I know they won) King 0
  8. Well its game day, it won't be long now and all the talk is by the wayside.
  9. Man lots of scenarios still left, after Friday it should be a little clearer.
  10. I doubt it, but haven't heard yet.
  11. No one is slighting King, they have lots of speed and are doing well this season. I remember that game in 2005, but I don't remember your run. This will be a good game but I hope Dayton wins, the teams seem to match up well. Dayton has to slow Alexander down and play heads up defense to win. The same goes for King if their secondary is not ready it will be a long night. All in all, it is for the Championship and both teams will be ready, really looking forward to this one.
  12. Looks like Dayton and King are pretty evenly matched, statistically speaking.
  13. #50 is Jordan Baxter he is a junior and a very hard nosed salty kid. I think that he and the Stapleton kid complement each other very well. I think the whole defense is doing better but this week will be our first real test since Friendswood. Stapleton is definitely a much needed boost to our defense. Baxter, Edwards, Hines, and a lot of others have played solid all year . The addition of some players that where out during the Friendswood game means that King will be facing a much different defense then they did. Dayton needs this win late in district play to help build momentum going into the playoffs.
  14. Looks like a pretty good mix of talent for area teams so far no districts are dominating .
  15. Thanks and I agree BH players never did quit. They played hard till the end, some of their hardest hits were late in the game.
  16. Galena Park has struggled this season, Broncos should maintain their 47.75 points per district game average. I predict the defense will have a big week, I say 2 defensive td's. The Broncos are still making adjustments and putting players in the right spots. Hopefully we can build a good head of steam going into the playoffs.
  17. No surprises and every team will have their standout players. It is hard to keep up with defensive stats other than what they hold an opponents offense to each week. Right now Dayton has outscored their opponents in district 191 - 57, the defense has allowed 14 pts. per game on average in district play. This not as good as the last 2 years so far, that said we are improving weekly.
