  1. I have posted this before but this was Fred Hynson of Dayton last year against Waller.
  2. Junior DB is good-hands man for BH By Nick Cioci The Baytown Sun Published October 15, 2008 MONT BELVIEU — Barbers Hill’s football team is 2-1 in District 19-4A play and 2-3 overall on the year. Part of the Eagles turnaround has been because of Matthew Viverette and his play at cornerback since filling in for an injured teammate the past three games. “We had a young man go down against C.E. King (Sept. 30) and had to put him (Viverette) out there at cornerback,†Eagle head coach Don Price said. “He is still learning, but has a knack for catching the football.†Apparently. Viverette has five interceptions since moving into the lineup, three against Goose Creek Memorial on Oct. 9 in the Eagles’ 52-7 win. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound junior returned one of the interceptions for 63 yards and another one for 83 yards in the win. His other two interceptions came against Kingwood Park on Oct. 4. Price said Viverette played quarterback last year on the sophomore team and was being used as a wide receiver this year before the switch to cornerback. “I don’t know if there is a secret to him playing so well,†Price said. “He is a coachable kid and a decent athlete.†Viverette said he feels playing quarterback has helped him be a better cornerback. “Playing quarterback helped me last year,†Viverette said. “You have to read the field and that knowledge has helped me this year in some ways. “It’s just been instinctive and second-nature for me as well.†Price said he isn’t sure if teams have been picking on Viverette or not. “I’m not sure teams are targeting him,†Price said, “but he just has had an opportunity for interceptions. He has a good eye and breaks to the ball.†Viverette said he has real good hands. “I’m not sure why I can catch the ball so well,†he said. “I feel the spiritual part helps me. It gives me confidence knowing God is with me out there.†Viverette said the attitude of the team has changed since they have started winning. “Obviously when you are losing you are more negative and down in the dumps,†he said. “But when you are winning, your confidence goes up and your spirit goes up as well.†Viverette said the Eagles will have to mentally and physically prepared when they take on Dayton Friday. “I mentally prepare by praying,†he said, “but I also have to work a lot to be physically prepared as well. I have to watch receivers in film to see how to cover them and the quarterbacks as well to see what they do on certain routes.â€
  3. why??? it would just make you jealous of how good their QB and receivers are. ;D Plus, you couldn't reinjure our players we got back, or make us drop 12 balls. j/k, I'm sure they've watched it plenty. It's just that not many teams have a passing attack like friendswood. yeah Im sick and tired of ALL YOU DAYTON FANS talking about how good yall are. We will see in the playoffs how quick the broncos get knocked off. Maybe First round to Lumberton or Nederland ;D ;D ;D Why don't you add all the points Dayton scored while they were in 20-4A and all the points their opponents scored in the same games. Might be kind of lopsided. We all know that everyone in 20-4A is just wishing they could get paired up with Dayton in the first round. Especially Lumberton. 5. I agree, I can't wait... Forecast says 40% chance of rain and overnight low of 56, might not be much passing.
  6. That might be the case but, I hope we pull away early and stay way out in front. I agree with Coach Stewart, I would like to see BH win every game but this one.
  7. I think the secondary will be fine, this Friday they will get some more chances to see the ball in the air. NF didn't throw at all and Crosby didn't throw very much.
  8. GCM will win 2 district games, this one against Galena Park and against Kingwood Park.
  9. District 24-4A still Wide Open by Bronco1 10/12/2008 In 24-4A, the race for district championship is yet to have a front runner. Three games into district play there are five 2-1 teams, Friendswood, Pearland Dawson, Brazosport, Angleton and La Marque. Texas City and Manvel are sitting at 1-2 while Santa Fe is 0-3. It could be anyones championship this year in a district traditionally dominated by La Marque and Texas City. Friendswoods overwhelming defeat(42-21) of the then highly ranked Dayton Broncos put them high on the list as possible district front runners. Angleton changed that with their win(28-25) over the Mustangs back in week 4. Then Friday night Dawson surprised everyone with a 21-20 win in overtime against Angleton. Statistically speaking Friendswood has the edge with its district leading passer Jacob Karam, who has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. While the rushing stats district wide are pretty close Friendswood again has the edge, district leading receiver Andre Gautreaux with 508 yards and 6 touchdowns. His 508 yards are 320 yards ahead of anyone else in district 24-4A. It will be exciting to see how this district shapes up in the weeks to come. Next weeks 24-4A games: Dawson at Friendswood Angleton at Brazosport La Marque at Texas City Manvel at Santa Fe
  10. The defense, in my opinion is definately sharpening up. They have allowed 44 points in district play, thats 14.6 points a game. That average number needs to drop and most likely will as the defense gets more comfortable and confident. As far as team leaders go, the players and coaches only know. District defensive numbers thru 3 games: GCM passed for 45 yards and rushed for 7, total of 52 yards. NF passed for 0 yards but rushed for 263 yards. Crosby passed for 140 yards and rushed for 129 yards, total of 269 yards. Rush Yds allowed 399 Pass Yds allowed 185 PF 146 PA 44
  11. BH secondary is gonna have a tough game. Daytons defense is getting stingy and the secondary is starting to shape up.
  12. That is probably the most sensible statement you have ever made on here. I was about to write you off as just another wacko. ;D I know that I thought Livingston would not win a game, except for this one, boy was I wrong. The may have a playoff spot in this district after all.
  13. Yall just think that Dayton can smash on Barbers Hill i do not like Coach Price . but i think big Price will bring his a Game just like 2 years ago when Barbers Hill played Galena Park and they were key word WERE undefeated and barbers hill beat them . Also Dayton lost to friendswood and 1. who has beaten friendswood Barbers Hill i believe BH has beaten friendswood almost every time they have played excuse me if i may be wrong on that but Barbers Hill i know for a fact is practice is gonna be hard for barbers hill and Green and A.J Dugat for one 2. Cody Green is not all that great and 3. A.J Dugat Can be shut down ive played with him and sure he does hit hard and lowers his shoulders but who cares People can take his hits and i know for a fact on both sides can darn near keep up with him if they can play P-NG and almost beat them yeah im not gonna bring up PN-G and Dayton last year who cares dayton was a much better team last year . and if i may say its gonna be either a dog fight till the end or what cause i know for a fact Stewarts pretty scared of BH's Big Dogs and stewart wants to play his big dogs the whole game yall will see for a fact that BH has pretty good guys not just Carmona there line is pretty big about the size and speed of dayton the only thing is yall dont realize who BH has for recievers so watch the game and see how this plays out . i still say Dayton -38 B.H - 42 All I can say is WOW! Too much coffee. ;D We know BH will be up for this game and will be a good one, but dude you made some pretty silly statments in that post. But like you said we will have to see Friday night. 1. Here is your Friendswood vs BH History: Friendswood and Barber Hills have played 6 time since 1930. Year W/L BH - FRWD 1966 W 21 - 0 1967 L 6 - 18 1968 L 12 - 30 1969 L 7 - 14 1970 L 12 - 23 1971 W 23 - 9 2-4 overall against Friendswood, last game was in 1971 and I would venture to say Friendswood is a little better team thatn back then. 2. Cody Green is faster, stronger, and more accurate than any QB in this district for sure. Not to mention he is leading this district with over 1100 yards passing and 14 TD passes and 7 rushing TDs. 3. Well as far as A.J. goes we will see Friday night.
  14. Disclaimer: All stats taken from Chron.com please post any corrections. Week 6 Leaders: Passing - Cody Green - Dayton Rushing - DeMartie Allen -GC Memorial Receiving - A.J. Chance Casey - Crosby - 621 yds/8 TD 3. Micheal Sigers - North Forest - 596 yds/3 TD Receiving 1. A.J. Dugat - Dayton - 558 yds/6 TD 2. Patrick Wood - GC Memorial - 314 yds/3 TD 3. Payton Ploch - Dayton - 244 yds/7 TD
  15. Yeah it reminds me of some other fans on this forum. ;D BH has beat the 2 weakest teams in this district.
  16. This game will most likely have the intensity of a rivalry game, despite the fact that they haven't played in years. I know alot of players Dayton and BH are looking forward to this game. Carmona has been throwing the ball well but probably the most impressive is his ability to run. Daytons defense might have a little to say about both of those stats next week. But first we have Crosby tonight lets not get ahead of ourselves.
  17. 9th Crosby 14 Dayton 12 JV Dayton 26 Crosby 6
  18. Yeah the barnicle is usually a little off. If you add the box scores they don't always match overall totals. But at least they keep stats.
