  1. Thats stinks for him and the Bulldogs but it looks like he will be ready for regular season. Get well quick and Godspeed.
  2. In that case no it doesn't matter, my point is the first half at least come this sat. will be about as real as it gets without it counting on your record. We will all know who the better team is Dayton or Lumberton in 2008 after the first half Sat. As a fan I want to know and so does everyone else. I can reasonably agree with that comment. But, it has no bearing on who was the better team when these two teams met last year in a real game. I agree, no bearing on last year but thats what rematches are for, a little satisfaction hopefully.

  4. Controlled scrimmage and game type scrimmage are two different things. If you would have seen the scrimmage between WOS and Dayton at every level(Freshman thru Varsity) last week, you would have seen a game. No, the score doesn't go on your record but there was a winner and a loser. The effort that both teams put out wasn't simply to try out new schemes or formations. Those boys were playing to win, it has nothing to do with records and everything to do with pride.
  5. Anybody got West Hardin scrimmage Info? Is it Thursday?
  6. Ahh, OK, I am sure thats all it is, L- town floating high above. I know how intense L-Town fans are and this a game type scrimmage. Call it what you want, scrimmage or practice warm up. Both teams have something to prove Lumberton wants to prove last year wasn't a fluke and Dayton wants to prove it was.
  7. Lets face it, this is more than scrimmage to Dayton and Lumberton, I don't care what anybody says.
  8. your right about that. I think the 2003 Liberty team would have proably beaten Dayton that year. 2003, 2004, and 2005 all put together would get stomped oh please that 2004 team got stomped by Nederland in the first round of the playoffs What do you mean, "oh please" they would have not even let Liberty on to the field. If Nederland stomped us then ya'll might have been able to beat their drill team, maybe. :
  9. where are they playing, Lumberton or Dayton, and at what time? In Lumberton, Friday evening. Not sure of exact time.
  10. I think the game type scrimmage was a great warm up for Dayton last Sat. I believe the Lumberton/Dayton scrimmage is the same format is so its about as close to a rematch that we are gonna get for a while, at least the first half anyway. Only the kicking and punt game is slow motion other than that full speed, a turnover is turnover. Lets here some predictions.
  11. After 3 Series Freshman 4-5 WOS Final JV 4-2 Final WOS
  12. After 2 series Dayton vs WOS Freshman 3-2 Dayton JV 3-2 WOS
  13. after 1 series each off/def Dayton vs WOS Freshman 1-1 JV 1-1
  14. Both of these coaches see this as an opportunity to basically get in another game. that's why its a 4 qtr game scrimmage. The more games you can play the better. The only difference between tomorrow and a real game is that they will not go full speed in the kicking game. It is a game scrimmage with the intentions of doing several things. Get the returning players warmed up and the youngster some game experience. I think this situation is great for both teams. You get see how you measure up against another very good team and again see your new players go against a real opponent. But, neither of these coaches is OK with losing scrimmage or not. It will be a good "game" to watch I am sure.
  15. what is smiley's name, I am trying to build a stat sheet for this season. To post each week.
  16. I know, a win is a win. 55-7 or 8-7 doesn't matter, in recent history we stand at 1-1.
  17. Dude, you can't be serious....You say well if PNG beat Lumberton and Dayton beat PNG then that means Dayton is better and bla bla bla...That's your way of figuring this whole thing out huh? How about head to head score last year, since you are talking about last year. Some of you Dayton fans just need to let it go. You are talking about last year. This is 2008, get over it for the last time. We know you are bitter, but come on man! At the end of the day all that matters for last year is 8-7! Stop being the HATERS that you are. This doesn't go for all Dayton fans as I do know there are some nice ones that do come on here. Give me a break, Lumberton has no room to talk when it comes to the type of fans on this forum. Anyway, we lost last year that is that, I don't like it but it is a done deal. Dayton and Lumberton are 1-1 over the last 2 years and the combined scores are Lumberton 15 - Dayton 62. ;D
  18. Exactly, it will look a little different a few weeks into the season and through the season.
