  1. Why on earth would the magazine have Liberty Hill ranked #1 in their preseason rankings, yet subsequently predict that they will lose in the State Finals to #4 ranked La Vega? Dave Campbell is contradicting himself The rankings are Padilla poll and the predictions are Dave Campbell's bunch. They are going to contradict each other some. I hope the predictions are correct.

  5. Well lets face we are talking about teenagers and their interests can change on a dime. I believe a student athlete should participate in every sport or at least multiple sports. It will only help them in every sport in the long run.
  6. That's really the one that counts! Although, it's nice to see West Brook get a little more respect than in some of the other polls I've seen.....#12 is cool! 8) Even that one (Ap) is questionable alot of times. True....but what do rankings really mean in HS, anyway? Nothing. All that matters is how you do in the playoffs, IMO! Well said.

I say weak because the avg. per (leading)QB in district 21-4A last year was 752 passing yds. In 22-4A it was 1180 passing yds.
  9. I know that he definately stands out on the field. The boy can move and he is fast, the real deal for sure.
  10. I know that they usually air it several times on fox afterwards. Not sure about live TV.
  11. Champion Lake is now part of the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge, and just this year they took ownership of the previously private Pickets Bayou boat ramp as well as 1 mile of Pickets Bayou. Here are a couple of links for furthur info on both. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  12. They looked OK, I know this was just a spring game. You are trying to see who can do what but, looked like they will be counting on a lot of younger players to step up.
  13. It's gonna be a good race to the finish this year again. It will be close I think, Central-Nederland-PNG with the Raiders nipping at their heels maybe even surprising some.
  14. He is healthy, should be a force to be reckoned with this season.
  15. About a week away, football in June it is a good pacifier for football fanatics.
  16. I voted for Central, they have to much talent to be down for long. Watch out for the Raiders they found out what it feels like to win and they won't give that up easily.
  17. Well said... I am not sure how they make up the LA team but again the Texas team is mostly Greater Houston.
  18. Star Bronco QB heading to Iowa Gregory Charles, who led the Dayton Broncos this past fall all the way to the state semifinals, will be exchanging hot, muggy weather for the snow and ice of Des Moines, Iowa, as he’ll attend Grand View College on a football scholarship this fall. “I’m happy to be going,†said Charles. “I’m looking forward to establishing myself in a new environment and I already have a coat for the cold weather.†The former Bronco will become a Viking, exchanging his purple and white for red and black. “Greg Charles was the most successful quarterback in the history of Dayton High School,†said offensive coordinator Jeff Nations. The youngster arrived on campus as a sophomore after Hurricane Katrina ravaged his home.... See full article here: [Hidden Content]
  19. Not real sure what your point is, I know the Doze kid from Crosby is good, and of course Ford Smesny(Dayton) is on the roster. They typical do not pick many players from the Beaumont area if that is what you mean. It is more of a greater Houston team than SE Texas team.
  20. Dayton is not, and I haven't heard anything about anyone else in our district having spring practice.
