Just the smugness/arrogance of the majority of their fans.
How in the world can this perception change?  Everyone has their fair share of arrogant fans.  The majority of fans at PNG are in no way smug or arrogant.  Maybe we come across that way, but PNG supports their kids like no other, no matter what the event is.
Good question.  Answer:  It starts with you.  Yeah thats right, you can make a difference.   BTW-- the word "hater" when used to call a group of people out, tends to be offensive.  Therefore it tends to generate a defensive response.  That too would be another thing to consider when one might be trying to change anothers perception.
The context in which I used it was not calling a group out.  It is understood on this site that there are a lot of PNG haters out there.  As there are a lot of haters out there for other schools.  Ned had their fair share.  WOS has their fair share.  As does WB and Central.  I would say success is not something to gloat about (which happens a lot).  Rather, it is something to be proud of.  Success is not something to be thrown in another's face, but it should be used as an example for others to strive to attain. Whether one thinks PNG fans are arrogant is not for me to decide.  But I ask you guys not to mistake a support of our kids in all sports, academics, and all other extracurricular activities as arrogant.  I think an unwaivering support at such a high rate is not something that should be criticized.  It is something that should be strived for by all.
All is well---most importantly is that you guys bring SETX a big victory tonight and that CHEROKEE gets played a whole lot.  Good luck.

You get the point...we can discuss anything that follows the thread....If you feel you will cheer better by locking your self up in a closet and watching footage of Hurricane IKE, or videos from last year...that's all u my man... It's two days til game day and 9 days til WB makes a life long memory for BMT and Katy! :o :o
LUTHER (Eddie Murphy in 48 hrs voice) are you angry with me?  :-\
I guess because I'm for TJ, I keep hearing this to the tune of Cherokee: Poor little Indian boys Jackets gonna sting them Indian boys ;D   ;D   ;D   :o
LOL NDN just because you were put on a reservation does not mean you have to stay there.  I suggest you expand your horizons.  Get out a little more.  Take a vacation.

 7. [Hidden Content] PAW Power is an arrangement taken from Alfred Reeds Russian Christmas Music which was amazingly written upon very short assignment.  Russian Christmas Music Alfred Reed was a 23 year old staff arranger for the 529th Army Air Corps Band when he was called upon to create what has become a masterpiece of the wind literature. It was in 1944, when optimism was running high with the successful invasion of France and Belgium by the Allied forces. A holiday band concert was planned by the city of Denver to further promote Russian-American unity with premiers of new works from both countries. Roy Harris was placed in charge and planned the second movement of his Sixth Symphony (the “Abraham Lincoln Symphony”) to be the American work. The Russian work was to have been Prokofiev’s March, Op. 99, but Harris discovered that it had already been performed in the United States (by Reed’s own organization). With just 16 days until the concert, Harris assigned Reed, already working for Harris as an aid, to compose a new Russian work for the concert. Scouring the Corp’s music library, Reed found an authentic 16th-century Russian Christmas Song “Carol of the Little Russian Children” to use for an introductory theme. Drawing on his investigations of Eastern Orthodox liturgical music for other thematic ideas, he completed the score of Russian Christmas Music in 11 days; copyists took another two days to prepare parts for rehearsal. The music was first performed on December 12, 1944, on a nationwide NBC broadcast. A concert performance was given in Denver two days later. In later years, Reed made minor changes to the instrumentation to suit a large ensemble, but tonight’s version is essentially the same as the original. The liturgical music of the Eastern Orthodox Church is entirely vocal, admitting no instrumental music into the services. Alfred Reed has captured the sonorities, rhythmic inflections, clarity, and flowing phrases of the human voice in his composition. Although the work is in the form of a single movement, four distinct sections can be recognized. The opening “Carol” sets a restrained and gentle mood. The chant from the trombones and trumpets climaxes into the “Antiphonal Chant” carried by the woodwinds. The rhythm picks up for the “Village Song,” which is presented in two bar phrases that rise and fall with the liturgy. The church bells herald the final “Cathedral Chorus” that builds in a steady crescendo, pausing for a soft and sonorous chorale, before continuing with the introduction of additional instruments until all of the colors and intensity of the celebration fill the hall. And now SETX you know THE  REST  OF  THE  STORY
Brook should be focused on Ike....reading this board and 5A football board, you would think the Katy vs West Brook games was this weekend. Katy is off this week, they can talk about the WB game....WB has a game with a team that beat them last season this weekend.
I agree---just like Channelview three years ago---Da Brook has a score to settle with IKE.  They need to pick up where they left off last year when they shoved it down Ikes throat in the 4th quarter only to run out of time in the red zone.  Da Brook needs to take no prisoners.  Lay them down on the field, leave them for the buzzards then get back on the bus and worry about Katy.  One week at a time.

 21. A good experienced coach would send the young assistant to this dirty work also if he felt it necessary. He can then back him up when the crap hits the fan from the administration. Even so that does not always mean its a bad thing to do.  Sometimes coaches behave in a way to motivate players---ie Bobby Knight.  Dont underestimate what type of stuff/strategy  happens behind the scenes.  The price of a ticket only allows you to see what goes on between the hash marks and goal post.    There is much more than that  ;D
 22.
Yes, Weedbegone, I am a true football fan.  I like to watch High School and College football, even Middle School when I get a chance.  Several of my friends and myself had a tradition, once the playoffs started, to go and watch 3 & 4 games in the Astrodome.  We would go in around 10:00 a.m. and most of the time would not leave until after 10:00 p.m.  We would eat nachos, chili cheese dogs, and rolaids or tums for some (LOL!!!).  I graduated from Lincoln, my wife graduated from West Brook, my daughter attends Ozen, and my sister-in-law graduated from Central.  We have Bmt and Port Arthur covered.
Good for you---should be able to celebrate a couple of wins each week.  I think PAM has finally arrived, Ozen is due, and WB is full of talent.  I agree that Central needs go back to the chayulk board and study there X's and O's.  They did draw two tough teams to start things off.  Dont rule them out yet---they do have speed and talent.
 23. Week 2 ---- and the challenge to smack without racism is still on. BTW-- I observed a thread almost get hijacked off the topic because of a post about a schools diverse ethnicticity. Several follow up post were defensively taken offensivly if you know what I mean.  Over all, the recovery was ok.  We still have work to do.  Remember---attack the post yet not the poster.  They are just another you with a little different look.  ;)
 24.
I attended both games at the BISD Stadium this weekend.  WB vs Central and Ozen vs Memorial. I am from PA, and I am a Titan fan.  However, I am a WB, Ozen, and Central fan when they are not playing the Titans. SFA85 you are correct, Central needs to line up in the I and pound it out.  That's how they scored their 1 touchdown.  They have a nice size O-line.  The QB for Central just needs some experience.  Westbrook took them out of the game early and they were out-played and out-coached in every phase of the game.  Central could not handle the pooch kick.  I thought that Stump should have pulled his starters earlier in the game, especially Reyes, but it worked out. I think that the Titans let up a little bit, and put it on cruise.  On the first Ozen interception, the DB made a great break on the ball. On the second interception, Singleton under threw the reciever badly, who was at least 5 to 10 yards behind the defender, for an easy touchdown.  I liked his pocket presence.  The Titans should be fine. I liked the effort that Ozen displayed to keep fighting the entire game.  I thought that they should have not tried the pooch kick after the first two.  I told my wife that he is going to break one if they continue to try it, and the next 1, he broke for a touchdown.  Also, the Titans ended up with great field position after each pooch kick.  You can't give a team with that type of explosive offense good field position and expect good results.  It puts too much pressure on your defense. 2 of Ozen's scores came on good drives, I believe the first and the last.  One came on a blown assignment, and the other on a busted play, and I have to give credit to the Ozen QB for using is athleticism to buy time for his receiver to slip free.  He scrambled to the right, reversed and turned back to the left, reversed and turned back to the right, and threw to the open receiver.  Green and Nelson will be a good combination and cause problems for the teams in 20-4A. All in all, I like what I saw from PAM, WB, and Ozen.  I think that Central needs to go back to the drawing board offensively, and run more plays out of the I and setup the play action pass.  Good luck to the Titans and all of the Bmt schools.  I hope that all of them make the playoffs.
I just had to applaud your post.  You must be a true football fan.
