  1. Not to put any undue comparisons on the kid, but he reminded me a lot of Tim Tebow. Big, physical runner. Where does he projet at the college level? QB? Slot? Clint Stoerner from Lee did pretty well for himself after only playing one year at the Varsity level as a QB. He also played WR his Jr year because of Jermaine Alfred. Tebow? Really? Yes. Really. That's why I prefaced it with "undue". I was referring to a big, physical, QB (6'1'', 200 plus lbs), who will run your butt over! Like for example, Tim Tebow. Alfred,Stoerner, Roberson, and Tate ---4 big D1 school QB's in a row---Lee was tough those years.
  2. DA BEARS! = DA BROOK!....not: gangster/hoodrat/chicken head/thug/punk/"G"/or anykind of other way shape or form is it intended/understood to be "GANSTA"... We Folks IN DA...."WEST SIDE!!"...IZ NOT GANSTAZ "G"... 8) Oookay!!! : ROFLMAO It is true ....It is true.... DA is not a word, but it do make for a good acronym for some posters. [move] D.A. ;D[/move] BTW--There also is no visible tributary close to the school--so perhaps we should just call it WEST ;D
  3. Great post! Put alot of thought into that one. I'm a Xbox Harrison hater also. NS will walk away with the district championship and WB will go down in the 2nd round.... SFA is one of the true Brook haters. I don't blame him based on recent history. This might be his year. In addition to being a Harrison hater, you must be rocket scientist to figure out that NS would win district....... How can this be his year---His little old school got annexed then axed. ( just like mine.)
  4. You betcha. "and now forming at the north end of Kyle Field, the nationally famous, Fightin Texas Aggie Band!!!!" WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!! I'll see you there--dont know who you are --but i am sure i'll see ya. I think I've become a T-shirt Aggie if there is such a thing. They have been accepting me money 8) Anyway--cant think of a more exciting place to be and i am just a couple of words short from knowing the entire "Spirit of Aggieland" As far as tomorrow night--Illl monitor the HS threads right here with my glass of ice and voice enhancing hydration fluids.
  5. Now that Friday is booked--you going anywhere special on Saturday AAW?
  6. Look what I found sliding down the page ---any body want to take a shot at this thread?

  10. Soulja wrote "(I know those so call true bruin fans that left with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter were kicking theirself in the butt ) LOL--That is so true. They missed the school song. ;D
  11. Best HS football game i have seen in many years. Definitely the Brook made it the game of the week. We came out of the field houset in the 1st quarter like we did not know what hit us. I thought it would be a long night. Da Brook recovered enough in the 2nd to get their focus back and gain a little momentum at the hALF AT 14-3. WB Offense became more explosive in the 2nd half and actually started wearing down the Ike defense. WB defense then decided that they could hang and started making some great plays with exception of one long run up the middle. I am going to leave the 4th qurter for the SGT Reye. He should have the floor on that quarter ---but Little Reye was awesome as he led the offense down the field several times with his running, execution of plays and passing. I am proud of this young team and saw them mature very much tonight. I am sorry time ran out.
  12. They lost to Katy in 2005--In Rice Stadium Cy falls must have been in 2006. BoBo--No thanks, I am secure enough with my own. Did not mean to stir up any paranoia. : And Ranger--thanks for letting us use your stadium in post season ---after ya'll were done with it. ;D
  13. But remember --Da Brook has also had success in the Houston area. In the play-offs, under the current leadership, they have gone three deep twice and two deep twice. We tend to only remember the last play off game each year. I keep telling 82AAAAA that his tank is half empty. Katy, Northshore, and Westfield have had our number and without emphasizing excuses, we have had our injury problems and depth problems when going against them. I sympathize with WOS fans because, this board tends to remember the one loss at the end of the season instead of all of the victories that gets them there. As for myself, with a son that played and another in the band, I recall going to games all the way until Thanksgiving. I would say that many teams in this and the Houston area cant say that.
  14. Just courious --what team do you support the most? Trying to get a read on where you are from.
  15. No, dont get his focus back on those issues. We are safer with him posting here. :
  16. i never said anything about players and coaches not wanting to win, so dont put words in my mouth, but it's HS football, if thats all the coach cares about then thats all the players will care about... and if thats what a school's football program is like then they are going backwards... Ask a HS coach what happens when he does not win. He'll probably tell you --we shake hands, say theres been some good games, and then they say GOOD BYE.
  17. idiot Based on this exchange and the response given---I would have to say the answer to the first question would be --- At Least 1
  18. IT IS CALL RESPECT! if you do not have enough respect for who you are playing to show enough class to tell the other team good game or atleast just shake their hands win OR lose, then you shouldn't be on the field... end of story... HS football isn't about winning or losing, i dont care what anyone says, it's about the life lessons they learn and the discipline they learn while playing the sport that helps them later on in life! I played high school football aloooooooooong time ago. When the game was over, usually both teams stayed on the field and sought out players that had impressed them during the game and then they chatted a bit. It was not necessary to line up the teams and mandate that they shake hands. It just came naturally to go tell somebody "Good Hit" when he had knocked your lights out in the second quarter. But back then things were much less complicated. Thats my point regarding sportsmanship. If up to the individual, then when exhibited it means something. When mandated, how can it be called sportsmanship---to me ---this actually camouflages the true act of good sportsmanship. Yes, it still can be taught by teachers, coaches, and the students who are real leaders. but the best sportsmanship teacher of all --is the way one exhibits it when unsolicited. And--- tigervoice, you are correct---we live in a complicated world today.
  19. I'm looking at your tag Weed and your statement and they seem to clash. The handshake is all about teaching good sportsmanship to the players and even fans. I remember the way LaMarque acted after we beat them in the playoffs two years ago, there were quite a few comments made about their lack of sportsmanship when even some of their coaches just headed to the field house. First of all -- it was a joke that must not have been very successful. But since you want to try and define sportsmanship as a simple handshake that is mandated by lining up and telling players they must do it, well I can't buy into that. I do not determine sportsmanship by seeing how well two teams walk the 50 yard line. If you check my tag --I see it as lifestyle exhibited and unsolicited by an individual (unsolicited is keyword here). It can be taught --but it cant be forced. Now take away the mandated line-up requiring everyone to shake hands, and you will see those who actually exhibit and practice sportsmanship. So in conclusion, sometimes you have to WEED (w/pun) the garden to see the cream of the crop. Now, thanks for checking and making sure I am... or am not... a hypocrite.
  20. Look at Texas, A&M, TCU,Texas Tech, and other college rosters and you will see lots of players out of the DFW area.
  21. Why not, I think it gives the kids that did not get in the game the opportunity to catch and spread the FLU. ;D
  22. SFA85 WATCHES BRUINS GET BACK INTO WIN COLUMN AGAINST A AAAAA SCHOOL. HE NOW OFFICIALLY HAS NO REAL TEAM TO ROOT FOR
  23. Kelly Basketball wrote " Kelly is and has been for the last ten years the best education in the town with only 450 students Kelly has had two perfect scores on the SAT, Ryan Sheffler and Blake Iceton, they have students attend MIT, Notre Dame, Duke, Texas, Princeton, Yale...your telling me parents dont want to send their kids to Kelly for that? While I am sure that Kelly provides a good education, this comment can be considered argumentive. The other schools in the Beaumont area also have sent many fine well educated students to these higher places in education. One thing that is not argumentive is that Kelly has the best looking parking lot when it is full of vehicles driven by the student body. ;D
