I think that you better get to the game around 5:30 at the latest to get a seat. Not a big stadium
-
That game was a spanking. Our JV is a better test than Central Jags
-
To "Brenham Baseball" which is an oxymoron in itself: We don't live 20 or 30 minutes from NW Houston where we played yall last year. I was a 1:45 minute drive for us and a closer drive for you. We had a chance to win that game last year with half as much talent as your team had and it looks like you have another good team this year. My prediction is that Friendswood is the team to beat this year after they demolished Angleton already.

I like how we have Brenham critics on our board since they don't have any fans of their own. I guess if we play them this year I will just get to the game at kickoff and sit on the 50 yrd line instead of getting to the stands at 4:30 for a 7:30 game so I could get a seat. Where are all the Brenham fans --- Eating ice cream ?

West Brook vs. Central Predictions?
tc35 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think Brook is a little overrated on their ranking as a top 10 team in 5A but the QB is a great player and they have some weapons on offense. After Central got spanked I dont see how you can pick them to win. How long has it been since they beat WB ? Brook wins 28 - 14 -
Thanks aikfan you see right through my picks ! I hope PNG wins but the reason that I believe that Brenham is a clear favorite is because of the caliber of teams that they have played against vs the teams that we have played against. Montgomery is a very good team as well as Huntsville. I think Huntsville's qb is committed to Oklahoma state. Montgomery's back rushed for over 300 yrds last week and could not move the ball against Brenham. We have won all our games yes but I can think of 3 that could have gone either way... Little Cypress, Barbers Hill 1, and Central. Throw the stats out the window. I watched the Brenham films of Houston Lamar, Huntsville, and Montgomery. All very good teams. All the sportswriters in the Houston area are picking Brenham also.

I would have to say after researching both teams that PNG is the clear underdog in this game. I also saw that Brenham's kicker is was all district last year which could hurt us becuse we cannot make a field goal longer that about 30 yrds. We are going to have to beat teams with more talent than us from this point on if you want to advance. I have seen PNG do it before and I think our kids will give 110% as they always do. I look for us to run about 10 reverses again like we did last week and more reverse passes. I'm sure Faircloth will be ready to face Brenham's speedy Defense. Good Luck Indians !!

I'm soo tired of hearing about Friendswood. First of all they were not that good this year and why are you even on this message board. There are only about 3 or 4 schools in the state of Texas that have the kind of fan support that PNG has and you are not one of them. I was at the game in 99 where we sold out our side of the dome and played in front of 40,000 fans. I played in 89 in the state quarterfinals in front of 35,000 fans. I remember in 99 when they had to open the second deck of Kyle field and RC Slocum said that he had never seen a crowd like that at a high school game. If we can somehow make it past this round then the true PNG masses will show up. Friendswood is part of my territory and everyone that I have met from there seems really nice and not full of themselves like you are. Speaking of when was the last time that Friendswood has made it to the State Finals. I think never is the answer!

I'm sure no one would agree with me and I hope that I'm wrong but... PNG has not played the same quality of competiton that Brenham has and as a matter of fact we have only played against 3 teams with winning records. Brenham defense is very fast and that has given us problems because we lack overall team speed on both sides of the ball. That being said if we can throw the ball effectively then the game could be close but will be low scoring.. My pick -- Brenham 21 -- PNG 14.

coach of the year goes to who this year
tc35 replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Obviously you have to give PNG' Faircloth the nod for coach of the year for going 10 and 0 for the first time in 32 years. I think coach Newman from Ned should get a close second from taking a team from a down year and making the playoffs with the 4th string QB. Give him props for accomplishing that feat !! -
I hated to see a team lose after watching that game. Central had the game in hand and did not even need to make the extra point to win. Actually if the kicker would not have missed the previous extra point then the last one would not have mattered because they would have been up by 3pts instead of 2. For PNG to win with 5 turnovers really shows that you can never give up no matter how bad things seem to be going. Central by far was the fastest team I have seen all year. #44 needs to be in the backfield also. He has the speed that the other backs have but he is twice their size. You could say that if Central had a kicking game then they would have won but you could also say that if PNG would not have turned the ball over 5 times then the game would not have been as close. My father has been a high school coach for 35 years and he has never seen a team run back a 2pt conversion in high school ever. That was an ESPN highlight. By far the best high school game that I have seen since we beat WOS in 1992 on a 2pt conversion. GOOD LUCK CENTRAL in the playoffs. You are the most talented team by far in the district and you record is not representative of the caliber of players and coaches that are in the program. Good luck to both teams !!!!!!

I wish central was undefeated.

Soulja --- Is there any place to eat within walking distance to park and eat by the Babe. My dad coached at BMT High before it was Central and he wants to get there early and see who all he knows there. -
Oh really ? We are going to give up 42 pts to Central. We haven't given up 20 pts to any team this year. You really need to stay on the Vidor message boards and try to figure out why your team under achieves every year. This was supposed to be Vidor's year they had everyone back. They couldn't even get a first down against PNG much less score. You absolutely can compare playing against the same opponents! Central has more speed but PNG's defense has shut everyone down this year. We don't have to score 50 pts to win. (Or lose in Vidor's case)
-
I was mainly referring to the Defensive linemen not the offensive linemen. The D-line looks small compared to previous years. I just hope the game is a competitive game with no injuries. I was wrong about the brackets. Central will not play Dayton. Barbers Hill and Dayton will most likely represent the small 4A division and Central will be the top seed big school. Could play Crosby.
-
Soulja -- What is the deal with the back situation with Central. You started out the year with 3 guys carrying the ball. The guy that killed Nederland broke his collarbone so he is out. It looks like one of the other backs is not 100% and has not been effective. So you are just going to run it 75% of the time and give it to O'Neal every time. It's going to take more than speed to beat us. PNG has not given up more than 20 pts in a game. Final score PNG 35 Undersized Central Jags 14.
-
This game is purely for pride. The placements are set. Our coaches have already been talking to Barbers Hill about where the first round game will be. Probably will be at Stallworth Stadium. Central will most likely play Dayton and have an easier round the second and third round than PNG because PNG would have to go through Brenham second round and then Angleton 3rd round. Both teams are the district champs from their respective districts. That's just the way the brackets work out.

Bmt my windshield was smashed the last time i went to the babe. i should have said that first. i am not scared of going there. I played on that field many times myself. I enjoy the atmosphere at central. png and central have the best fan support at home. Can you tell me which players from central were on the 4 x 100 relay team last year. I remember watching them at the district meet and i thought all of them were football players

I apologize Bmt for the comment !!

#15 Central @ Livingston Predictions
tc35 replied to BigWolf10's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I'm ready to hear the excuses bmtsoul, shorttex Let me guess, You lost because of the poor field conditions that PNG also faced and put 35 on the Lions, Or was it the bad calls from the refs --- Indians are the District Champs in 2009. You can only tie for it now. Nice Choke. -
Central vs. Livingston/Livingston wins 10-6
tc35 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Could someone from the Central game explain what happened. Why was Central held to only 6 points? Were there turnovers or poor field conditions? -
WOW !! Central Fans your throats must be hurting because I have never seen anyone CHOKE so hard !! Central will score 2 times against PNG -- on there B team like Ozen did. Final score PNG 28 - Central 14. Could easily be over after the 3rd quarter. Central's defense will have no answer for PNG.
-
Shorttex how would you know what a district champ looks like. You have never been one. Go Panthers!
