  1. I'll throw in my 2 cents worth because I have been to every PNG game this year and what I have noticed is that we don't run the same plays at all week to week. We ran 3 reverses last week to a kid that I haven't seen carry the ball all year long. Faricloth is a great playcaller plain and simple. It really shows when you look at Odessa Permian this year and they have 3 losses without him calling the plays. I think Lumberton is obviously a good team but not as good as the previous 2 years. The PNG defense has picked off passes and forced fumbles in every game this year and I don't believe that is just good luck anymore. I think Lum will score 2 touchdowns but there is no answer for the balanced attack of PNG. PNG 35 - LUM 14.
  2. What a game. It really wasn't very close. PNG defense was dominating yet again. I think we will get the respect from around the the district that we deserve. How many yards did Vidor even have? It has to be less that 200 total. I missed the Livingston game but this was the best on offensive, defense, and special teams that I have seen this year. What do you have to say now Shorttex ? Is it still easy to pick against PNG?
  3. Shorttex -- To answer your question PNG has won district 2 times that I know of this decade which was 2003 (outright 1st place) and 2007 (tied for 1st). Central came into the district in 2002 and has only won it 1 time 2005 when they only played 3 district games due to Hurricane Rita. We have beat Central more times this decade than they have beat us but I would agree that they may be the best team this year. I will pull for any 20-4 team that makes the playoffs.
  4. I was probably the biggest critic against the new PNG defense coming into the season but I don't see how you can pick against the Indians this week. Just look at all of the past years . We should have beat Vidor last year and this year we are much improved on both sides of the ball. No disrespect against Vidor. I like the pirates and hope they win the rest of their games but what this game comes down to is the PNG Defense vs the Vidor offense because the Vidor defense is weak and gives up tons of yardage against average teams. PNG has played against better competition than Vidor has with the exception of Central. Crosby beat Dayton and PNG creamed them and even early on in the Memorial scrimmage we moved the ball easily against a far more athletic team. PNG slows Vidor down enough to win the game and wins close 28 - 21. Don't forget about the PNG running game because their back is on pace to rush for 1500 yards this season which would be a school record. It's going to be next to impossible to come into the reservation and face the hottest team in SE Texas with by far the biggest fan support and win.
  5. First of all it definitely would not be an upset if LCM beats the Indians this week. The Indians have yet to beat a team that has a winning record. We have faced lesser opponents than either WOS or Cleveland and I think that LCM will be up for the game. However, I still don't think the Bears are good enough on offense to beat the Indians. PNG -21 LCM 14
  6. Good Luck to the Vidor Pirates !! You are way past due to have a good year !!
  7. Danaher is at the Resevation Today watching offseason. Confirmed!
  8. I have heard similar rumors but I am not sure Stump is the right man for the job. He has been successful at Westbrook but look at his talent pool. He is getting the best players in Beaumont and his spread offense does not fit the personnel of PNG. I believe that the Liberty Hill offense or one of a similar style would be successful at Port Neches. I know that the Liberty Hill coach has withdrawn his name ,but I still believe that you have to run the offense suited to your strengths which explains why Vidor was successful this year when they changed to a Wing T offense. When Stump went to West Brook he brought his best quarterback from Kelly which gave him a D1 2 year starter. Other talent soon followed from Ozen and Central. I my opinion Stump has done less with more talent and at Port Neches you have to do more with less talent.
