  1. I talk more about Arkansas sports as a whole on another site. Yo @AggiesAreWe you can lock this up please. Thx. And the Kentucky basketball thread too.
  2. The recession talk is total nonsense and simply driven by the TDS crowd.
  3. I understand. And the reason I said what I said is that the basketball team makes it to state all the time. Their odds will greatly increase to go back next year if the Bryants show up, but they have a shot regardless almost year in and year out. Conversely, if you take a football team that has never won state, but has gone 34-6 and won 7 playoff games over the last 3 seasons, and bring in a QB who some talk about as being the best dual-threat qb IN THE COUNTRY for his class... I just tend to think the football team might benefit even more than the basketball team.
  4. From a football standpoint adding Kavian Bryant and his brother to an already strong Silsbee squad immediatley makes them a state contender....from a basketball standpoint it puts them in the conversation depending on if they go D1/D2....definitely puts them in the D2 talk
  5. This goes along with Reagan’s “art of the deal”. If you really want to know about someone, talk to someone who has worked side-by-side with them.
  6. I have a window handy. Please read the news as to who is coming to the table to talk tariffs. Don’t let hate rule your life. It shortens it.
  7. Go to the DCTF YouTube at noon today for some offseason TXHSFB talk!
  8. The more I think about it the more bizarre it becomes. Donald Trump spent his first term claiming any attempts to hold him or his peeps accountable were illegal. His Presidential administration has had more criminal indictments and convictions by far than any other in history. To claim that all of the people (deep state bogeyman) were coming after him is loser talk. He hasn’t the courage to face the charges because he knows he’s a chiseler and a coward. This is the easiest one to argue I’ve come across yet if you consider the facts, which isn’t too prevalent on this blog.
  9. From the article: "This weekend, the US and Iran will hold their first semi-direct talks in years, despite the previous insistence of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in barring such talks. What changed? First, the Iranian security situation has degraded rapidly over the last few months, thanks to their stupidity in attacking Israel directly as well as indirectly through their proxies. That has left the mullahs more exposed than ever before in their 46-year run as theocratic tyrants in Iran. That's not the only reason, the New York Times reports today. The Iranians may have finally realized that Donald Trump returned to office with the goal of settling scores -- and that a squadron of B-2 Stealth bombers in Diego Garcia aren't waiting around just for show. The government pressured Khamenei to end the ban and allow them to try to talk their way out of destruction:" [Hidden Content]
  10. You have been seething to post this all morning. It took WWII to end the great depression. Nothing else had an effect. Roosevelt’s New Deal had very little effect. The tariffs didn’t cause the depression, they just couldn’t save it. You should talk to anyone who survived this terrible ordeal. You might even learn something real, not just headlines. Of course, you would probably thumb your nose at them since you disrespect the elderly so much.
  11. I know little/nothing about Woodville, but what they accomplished last year was amazing. Its incredibly sad we can't just all support one another and refrain from taking shots. Too many people here are not here to talk football, all they really want to do is tear someone else down.
  12. Sensing your sarcasm, but there are lots of coaches with pedigree looking for their shot at a team with potential to make a long run. Neece in Anahuac has quite the pedigree, I am certain there are coordinators from championship programs that would jump all over this one. Woodville has an opportunity to go out and hire a guy they might not have had the chance to even talk to 5 years ago, or 5 years from now. Let's just hope they don't screw it up. And let's hope the rumor about the QB leaving isn't true.
  13. Anyone who will talk for 19 hours really doesn’t have much to say, and consider few to none listened for 19 hours.
  14. Enough of the talk about the game with Gunter. Hearing a local 3A coach is in the running for this opening.
  15. “Just messin’ with ya”? Bull. You said what you feel and what a LOT of folks on The Hill feel and say all the time, not just amongst themselves but what they say on social media and right to the faces of the poor folks down here. I’ll bet you just reread your prior post, saw how bad it sounds when you type it out like that for everyone to read so now you come back with “I didn’t really mean it, I was only foolin’, actually it’s Y’ALL who are the haters!” At least be honest and own it. You said what you said, feel the way you feel, so own it. Don’t talk big and then try to walk it back later. You think you’re so much better than everyone else? Well then at least be honest about it, but you can’t because of what you are, what BH is. Just a bunch of haters and bullies who get a kick out of picking on cripples just to make themselves feel bigger and better. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t envy y’all, I pity y’all.
  16. If you are jonesing for some TXHSFB talk, go to the DCTF facebook page of youtube at noon we'll do this month's TepAndStepp podcast for free.....
  17. Still haven't had explained to me why they get more money to spend at a private school than their child earns a district when they attend public. And you can talk about "speculation", but there's literally no way that private schools are going to take in at-risk kids unless they have something exceptional to offer in athletics. Some of them won't drag down scores. Some of them absolutely will. And most of the schools won't take the risk. Taxpayers aren't going to be applying their money for better opportunities in 95% of the cases. In fact what will be happening is RICH taxpayers will get a nice rebate on the private tuition bill they already can afford to pay. The wealthiest Texans are certainly in favor of school vouchers. Why anyone else is is beyond me.
  18. And this is the bs I talk about , this is why no one actually likes or even listens to you . You have zero credibility when it comes to actually knowing and understanding the pulse of these kids or coaches . Save them congratulations NO SQUARES IN OUR CIRCLE 🤡 !!!!
  19. Now we can put this #badhire talk to rest !!!!! Shoutout to my guy Mike T and staff and a hugeeeee shoutout to those kids who believed in the vision . Championship mentality!!!
  20. I’m personally tired of his back and forth tariff talk.
  21. Guys, let's take this talk somewhere else please. This thread is for coaching changes and hires.
  22. Congrats Lions and Coach Joubert on a remarkable season. I think Mr Sells will be one we talk about for years to come. On a side note, @AggiesAreWe, @BBfan061 wanted me to ask you if you were rooting on Kountze or Paradise today?
  23. What killed the Consolidation idea years ago was that GCCISD went about the whole thing the wrong way. They had District employees hopping onto Social Media accounts and being extremely dismissive and downright nasty to anyone who was unsure of the idea. All that did was galvanize the opposition and drive all the fence-sitters right into the opposition’s open arms. Before they even begin to talk about Consolidation, they’ve got to build the new Senior High School where RSS now sits. They need to pass a Bond to do that and have failed in their last 2 attempts. After that, they go to the public and say “We’re broke, and we have to Consolidate the High Schools to stay afloat.” Don’t create a “maybe” situation, and for damn sure keep your employees from hopping online in their off-time to gloat about REL’s demise and end up riling up opposition to it. If they do it that way, and I think that’s their plan, they’ll probably have it done in the next 5-10 years. I love REL too. My whole family went there. My wife’s whole family went there. I met my wife there. Our kids will go there. With all that said, Consolidation makes sense, will eventually happen, and most folks realize this. Until then, though, REL is still Old Baytown’s school and we’re proud of it!
  24. REL still holds their own, Finn’s 37-33 in his time there so far. Folks don’t seem to realize that. GCCISD will end up consolidating the High Schools, but we’re still years away from it. First off, they have to get a Bond passed to rebuild RSS. After that, and after the rebuild, then they’ll pitch the consolidation as a cost-saving measure. It’s probably 5-10 years away. Thats the only way it’ll ever get done. The Board telling voters that there’s no choice left but to consolidate due to budget woes. GCCISD is headed into year 3 of budget cuts for 25-26 and are already saying that 26-27 will be a 4th year of cuts with no relief on the horizon. Until then there’s not much for the 3 football programs in Baytown to do but play the cards they’re dealt. REL does pretty well considering. With a former REL OC running the show at GCM maybe they’ll find a way to get 2-3 wins next season or maybe not but we’ll see. RSS has a good possible interim HFC in Coach Launius, hopefully they can find a way to at least tread water this season. After that, UIL redraws Districts again and 9-5A-1 might get a little easier for them. One more thing. When folks talk about too many folks wanting to keep REL, I think they mistake why that is. I think folks assume things about other folks without walking a mile in their shoes. REL over the last few years has been the High School with the highest test scores and lowest number of fights. 6 of the Seniors on the football team made Academic All-State Honorable Mention this school year. None from RSS or GCM. Folks in Old Baytown, (and I actually live there so I know), don’t want to send our kids to RSS where the foundation of the building is crumbling or all the way out to GCM where it’s extremely overcrowded and a total mess as a result. REL is where we prefer to send our kids.
