sounds to me like we just need to meet after the game and go have a beer and talk about were both team's went wrong no matter who win's. both teams with if they give it all they have no matter what the score shows. good luck to both teams

shhhhh....didnt you get the memo...Lumberton is the only team that is not allowed to make predictions, and talk smack. Apparently when your first loss of the season is with the hardest team in the district, and the raiders of the past (who share only the same name and stadium) have a loosing record. we dont have any right to be optimistic or predict a win.

When WO-S played at Nederland in the mid-90s, WO-S already had a big lead when the QB hit a completely uncovered receiver 25 yards upfield between the hash marks. As the WR streaked to the end zone, the whistle blew. They called it an "inadvertent whistle," which negated the TD. Ned fans still cry about the 2000 "lateral" call, but it was understandable as the ball BARELY moved forward and Neumann later admitted on one of the "Chalk Talk" TV segments that it was a trick play designed to look like an incomplete pass. The fact that it moved forward had been a mistake on the QB's part. He said, "It can work big for you, but we've learned that it can also really come back to bite you."

The reason we flop at times is that Nederland MUST play with a very high level of intensity... they don't have dominant athletes... they must execute and they must play with tremendous energy. They had neither Friday in Vidor. Nederland can't just walk out there and win because they're Nederland, they've got to play with a chip on their shoulder at ALL times... guess what, Vidor and all this talk, just put a HUGE FREAKIN chip on their shoulder, and you better believe Larry Neumann is going to use this to his utmost advantage. Look for an inspired effort this Friday, Homecoming, Playoff streak in the balance, Central has OWNED Nederland over the past 5 years... any good football fan will want to see this one.

jsmity, Good Lord man cry me a freakin river. West Brook gets the same coverage as any team in the area. Hell in the 80's they were the talk of the town but thats back when the district was 22-5A and there was more than 1 local team in it with them. They may not be talked about as much on this or other boards because of the district they play in now. All their games are against teams from cities in the Humble, Kingwood, and Baytown areas. Besides Port Arthur who does the Brook play around here in district??? The reason 22-4A gets more talking and pub throughout the season is because EVERY team is within 45 mins of each other. Youll see the West Brook chatter heat up the week they play Memorial I assure you, just like when they play Central and Ozen predistrict. the fact remains besides West Brook and Memorial fans noone from around here cares about the Baytown Lee Ganders or Humble Kingwood Mustangs. Why should we?

earlier someone had mentioned the run thru's. Lumberton just got one this year. The reason was because the old Coach thought they were cheesy so instead we ran thru paper...true PeeWee style. What do you think? Are they worth the money? Who has the best one? Talk Amungst ya selves...

This week I noticed that Dayton had a really nice field. I loved the Turf. Of course the visitor side stands werent big enough but no ones ever are. I think Lumberton is one of the few teams where the visitor side used to be the home side so it is very adequate. It is a pretty field, but is turf really worth the money? I know there are cons to it. Are there any benifits other than looks and maintenance?

That was due to the fact that since we had a 50 to 6 lead at the half, we played our JV defense the ENTIRE SECOND HALF, and our JV offense for most of it. You won't have to worry about THAT happening again when we play you. You'll get the starters the entire game. Then we'll see if you want to come on and talk smack.

Already changed your mind? Funny how a little smack talk can do that. BC has the win hands down.

Yes... Vidor won a tight hard fought game against Nederland. That being said if they were to play again Nederland would still be favored, just not by as much. I am from Vidor and will back the Pirates till the very end, it is not a nock on Vidor at all. Nederland has been playing the kind of football that Vidor did on Friday night for years. Vidor will not have to worry about where they are on any poll, just play like they did Friday and the rest will take care of itself. Not only that we are from Vidor and like being the underdog. Let's not talk about jumping to the top just yet.

OK, let me set the record straight for you K'ville fans(not all, but some). I sure hope that all the "we got this and we got that and #15 is gonna do this" talk is just having fun. We here at WOS, dont really get all worked up on all the trash gibberish teams say to us week in and week out. Just ask all the teams who do that, they have a loss on their record due to us. I also hope that you, K'ville balla, are in highschool. I say that because maybe you have no clue who we are. You couldnt, there is no way someone would talk that trash with a straight face. It is entertaining though. :wink: I will not say that there will be a blowout this Friday, but I will say yall havent and probably will not see another team like this in a long time. As this happens every year being an Astros fan the seaon never ends on a happy note. But my happy note is a World Series Trophy at Minute Maid Park. I have to admit I loved the grit and determination the team showed in the stretch run. It just makes you wonder what will come in 2007? Im going to try and keep the stros talk still going all offseason long in this forum so you hard core fans bring it! Here's what I think we need too look forward to in the offseason. A big bat (maybe a 100 rbi hitter) so we can help Big Puma out. Andy Pettitite is he coming back?? Do we sign Aubrey Huff? I have a feeling 2007 will be a special season at the Juice Box. I mostly looking forward to seeing Craig Biggio get that 3,000th hit and do it in an Astros Uniform. Thats all I got for now so let the Offseason Begin!!

Big Red there is no need to talk so negative about Deweyville Pirates. Can't u just say you're for EC without talking negative about the Pirates? The players didn't make the schedule. Let old dogs lie. I think this will be a close game. It can go either way, depending on penalties and injuries. Even though we are the smallest school in our district, we have young men that play with alot of heart and determination, as do alot of the teams do on Friday night. That's what it's all about. Go out and play your heart out and leave everything you got on the field and hopefully it will be enough to end up with a win. But true fans support their team no matter what. I am Lumberton fan but I can say this. the refs called a good game for both sides and Dayton was the better team by far. If you take away the 2 early turnovers maybe its a closer game but thats a maybe. bottem line is Dayton was the better team. I wish the Lumberton people who talk all the time on here would chill out because it makes everyone else look bad. This really is a great group of kids and the coach is a class act and things are getting better in Lumberton under his control but the fans are gonna have to give him alittle time. This team is extremely young with only 5 seniors that play. But I dont blame other people for not believing that because there is no proof of that yet. Lumberton must talk with their helmets and not there mouths.
