Honest Abe Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Maybe Yates should try to win the championship at the 2A or 1A level since 4A and 3A didn't work out so well! ;) ;D
ozensfinest Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 2nd year in a row yates press has killed them...but whats up with swift he doesn't play like a D-1 player

I realize that pressing is their 'game', but why not make adjustments and not press when your team is equally matched?
ST413 Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Yates just fell victim to another big city team who had just as many or more players than they did. A taste of what all us small town teams get.
KHSAlum400 Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Madison's coach pointed out something big about Yates' press. They give up easy buckets on the back-end which is what Madison exploited today. Get the ball past halfcourt and you give yourselft a chance against Yates.

All I ever see him doing is getting putbacks and layups/dunks off their press.
Big girl Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Yates couldve stayed in 4A and they wouldve gotten the same outcome. I guess the experiment failed. :)

Big girl Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 A lot of teams that were on the bubble opted to stay in the higher classification.
PrettyBoi10 Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Maybe Region 3 isn't as strong as we Think it is the Champ hasn't came of our Region since 07 when HJ wonThe probably Yates had was Lewis not playing that's 12 points easily missing they also made no adjustment they only adjust in the Prime Prep game an Silsbee game but the difference was Silsbee aloud Yate to slow down on Offense Madison Press an ran the whole game an it helps to have 2 6'7 also
PrettyBoi10 Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013
score on the Yates game?
Madison 85 Yates 72
My point wasn't the size of the school but on the size of the city. Thus enabling a lot more athletes to attend the school and not really have to move. May not happen as much at Madison as we all see at Yates. I don't know.

Depends. However we don't have the luxury to be a magnet school and recruit amongst 3 million kids within HISD and/or decide which classification we play. 8)Since you could not defend them, nice job on changing the subject matter. ;)Yates is nothing more than an AAU team playing in public school competition. U still convinced that's the way it should be-Lol! ::)
BADSANTA Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Madison has some good kids coming back too!

The only one I saw that's returning that played significant minutes was the Sophomore#3. Everyone else was Seniors. Yates returns virtually everyone with the exception of #23 Martin.
Kountzer Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 what came around came back around. Congrats D Madison.
stevenash Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 I am confident that Yates will re-evaluate its player acquisition program and get everything corrected for next season

Not only do they play by the rules, but they also play by the spirit/intent of the rules.
Big girl Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Ha, ha ha ha ha. Steve nash is hiliarious :)
