There should NOT be 'free agency' in HS basketball. SMH!
BLUEDOVE3 Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 If the UIL has not controlled the free agent market since UIL's inception way back in the 1930's, don't see any new rules forth coming to stop the situation in 2013-2014.
Kountzer Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 Up until maybe 15-20 years ago aau and summer league teams weren't allowed by the UIL. The argument was heard that now allowing aau stuff was hurting the overall basketball talent coming out of Texas. The rules were changed, aau, summer leagues were allowed. The end result is the recruiting and free agency stuff we have now.
