[/quote]I would place him on a team of top players over the last decade, but not over past 30+ years.

There was individual talented players at Nederland, but most of them played on teams that were not very good overall. That's one reason many of the players i chose are from more recent years. Most people (including myself) don't remember them so well bc they played on subpar teams. And trust me, we had our fair share of subpar teams! ;D

NHS 83LU87 may be able to provide a few more from the early 80's. I remember Greg Macon being a great shooter but can't remember his overall game/skills.

I'm an old school guy and I did not see Dexter Wallace for Silsbee. Wallace was an absolute beast.
I remember watching several classic battles with Randy Samuels from Hebert.

You guys got it all wrong!  The talent in the area has been way down for a long time now.  A lot of those teams from Mid-County weren't "sub-par" or "unremarkable", they just didn't make the playoffs.  The top teams were just that good back then.  Also, half the district didn't get in.  For example, I think the group Nederland had in Lincoln's last year was better than the Nederland group this year.  With that said, it seems like the talent is starting to come back to the area.  Port Arthur and the BMT schools should all be very good in the near future.
[/quote]Five of the people I put on my list never played in a playoff game while playing at Nederland. Weaver, English, and Hefner all played on good teams in the 80's when only one or two teams played in the post season. I grew up and played in the era when only one or two teams played in the post season, so I know what you are saying about good players not making the playoffs.

Three teams made the playoffs during the last year of Lincoln's existence, yet Nederland was not one of them.  Sorry, but that Bulldog team was NOT better than any of the Ned teams from this year or the past 4 seasons. ::)

Trey Jenkins was good but IMO he wasn't as good as cole or jarred. 4 guys on my list went on to play in the next level. The only one who didn't was danny and that was because of a senior year injury. Trey didn't make it. And okay abe in your opinion who should he replace?
