Silsbee @ BC - 3/19

Team records don'treally show who they played or who they lost too.  They did play earlier in the season in the LCM tourney with BC run ruling them with their #3-4 pitcher. I know the Tigers have good bats but Guidry is kinda good himself  ;D  So with Guidry on the bump I am going with BC......

Top to bottom Silsbee swings the bat as well or better than any team I've seen so far this season, they can flat out hit. Their record proves they are a quality team. The Tigers played a much more difficult pre-season schedule this year than in the past and have done well.

BC will have to get a great effort from Guidry and some much better defense than they have shown thus far. BC's pre-season schedule has not been an easy one either, they have played some outstanding teams as well.

I have no doubt this one goes to the team that stays away from giving up a big inning and has the least errors. A win by either of these teams should not shock or surprise anyone who looks at the game objectively.

Silsbee does have the luxury of throwing the whole staff if needed since this will be their only game this week. "All hands on deck." Looks like a matchup between Guidry (BC) and probably Powell (Silsbee). Both quality arms and both are coming off of good performances in their last outings.

It's gonna be a good one, or at least I hope it is. Everyone wants to see this one played clean and error free so it can be settled on the field.

Good luck to my friends in Silsbee. Hoping for the Cardinals to pull this one out.

Critter, you just have to type and remove all doubt as to how little you know or how little you remember!  BC did play Silsbee earlier and when the "#3-4" pitcher was pulled Silsbee was only down 4-3. That pitcher also had closed the game before so his pitch count was up.  All the remaining 9 runs were scored on guys that are not even considered pitchers.

This will be a good game.  I am sure the Tigers respect BC and Guidry but they are not worried.

BC and Silsbee both have some comparable opponents on their pre-season schedule, that would be another way to compare them thus far. Livingston, Lumberton, Huntsville, Woodville, Huntington, Buna and LCM come to mind. Silsbee has a better record against common opponents even if it's in tourney situations, that's hard to ignore. BC does own the head to head comparison this season so far regardless of who pitched, but there is still a bunch of baseball to be played. Whoever wins this game still has plenty of work to do in order to secure a district title this season, it will still be far from over.

[/quote]To me tourn. Play is hard to assess teams as to how they perform under a ful out game . And in Tourn. situation BC did beat Silsbee. But also Silsbee has beaten teams in the tournaments that have beaten BC . But on heads up games the only team to asses is Buna and woodville head up games. Silsbee beat both of those teams Run rule by 5th 11-0 on both games. Bc beat Buna 5-1  7th and woodville 9-5 7th.  But whats realy going to tell is tomorrow thats when it counts. I dont know who will win . but i believe it will be a good game. and as a homer pick I am still going with Silsbee. Good luck to both teams.

With all due respect to Rounder17, I don't know if that idea works either? BC's bullpen may be slightly deeper but that's almost a coin toss. Each staff goes several players deep in the pen and they can all get the job done. Silsbee does have 1 advantage with pitching for this game and that is they don't have to think about a pitcher for Friday since they don't have a game.

IMO you can't go by teams played against unless you get the same pitcher.  I know that BC got both of these teams #1 pitcher.... I know that Buna's #1 pitched Tuesday against BC and not so sure about Woodville's but I believe he was their #1 also and that Woodville kid is flat out legit!!!!  .... It should be fun tomorrow night and I hope it is a error free game for both squads to get the real evaluation of these teams.

Absolutely!!!!  Playing a tough preseason always makes for a good District.  Excited and Can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!!
