AggiesAreWe Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 Jared Ainsworth @JaredAinsworth 1mFormer North Crowley, Willowridge & Houston Westbury coach Keeath Magee has been approved as Ozen's next football coach, per @dBerrySports
AggiesAreWe Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 According to my sources, Coach Magee was the front runner the whole way.
AggiesAreWe Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 A little background on Coach Magee:http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/huddle/2013/03/21/ozen-has-a-new-football-coach/
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Im shocked. I will say i believe he has a son thats a good DB, played Varsity if im not mistaken last year for North Crowley. He'll be a Soph next yr. Im shocked cause he (coach) didnt do much at North Crowley.
bobbymcgee Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 He did have success at Westbuy and Willowridge. Spread guy so I don't think too much will change at Ozen. Is kind of interesting that for the second year in a row Rodney has brought in a coach that somebody else didn't want. Crosby's Flanigan and now North Crowley's Magee.
409Fan Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Wonder if he's gonna bring in his own people and do away witt the current ones? Anybody have an idea?
panther blue Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Some times change is good, sure hope that the new coach can bring two or three new assistance coaches with him. Let him bring in some of his staff, and put his program in place. go panthers !!
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Be careful what yall ask for. ;)

ozensfinest Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 SMH never Rodney just gives us any coach
JRidge Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 This is an interesting hire at best! I'm curious to see how the community and present coaches respond to a coach with recently 3yrs. of a loosing record? It seems as though it may be difficult to convince people that you can win if you haven't done it in a while! I'm not saying he won't or can't but I would have thought that they would have sought after someone who has currently demonstrated success! Makes you wonder about the people who are doing the decision making and their experience dealing with athletics? Hmm! Hopefully he can take the football program to a higher level so let's give him a chance to prove himself and see. Let's be OPTIMISTIC!
GoKnights Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 I know nothing about Magee personally. But I can tell you comparing Ozen to North Crowley is definitely apples to oranges. I know Ozen has history and the ghosts of Hebert still stand proud in the orchard, but BISD is very much like FWISD? Not many "winning" coaches are beating down the doors to get in there. There is not a team down there that can play with 80% of the teams on NC schedule. Closest might be PAM. He is a good choice for Ozen and will right the ship.
JRidge Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Yes you have a point there, the teams he played against are very good and loaded with talent! Noone knows the obstacles he faced in trying to bring that NC program around but if he can duplicate some of his years before NC he should do just fine! Once again OPTIMISTIC!
BADSANTA Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 8-28 record over the last 3 Years gets u the Ozen job?
BLUEDOVE3 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Maybe developing young men comes b4 wins and losses. Just trying to help ;)
