I am very frustrated with Lamar's leadership. If Lamar screw this up, I am done. All Lamar former conference mates and equals like La Tech, ULL, UL-MONROE, and Ark st are signing home and home games with Baylor, Boise st, SMU, and TCU. While Lamar bring in Langston and Panhandle st. Even Texas st played Texas Tech at home. I am so sick of the small minds infesting Lamar leadership positions.

As an LU supporter, I am extremely disappointed Lamar wasn't mentioned! We were looking forward to going FBS but what happened? We have one of the best facilities in the Southland Conference and FCS! To me, that is a devastating to recruiting and to the local economy! What needs to be done to resolve this?

Tougher opponents need to be on the schedule! This is one of the reasons why Lamar never got invited to the Sun Belt! Drop the Division II/III/NAIA schools like mentioned in past posts! I am so sick of seeing them on the schedule! It's getting them nowhere! This is probably why Lamar football had been losing money back in the late 80's resulting in its elimination (possibly the other reason is the oil bust/recession of the late 80's)!

The internet folks believe JMU will get the final spot in the Sunbelt. Followed by Mizz st, then Liberty. Lamar, Jax, and SHSU has no chance at all says the crowd.
1. JMU, I don't understand why the MAC has not scooped them up. JMU is a good fit with MAC schools. I can't see the JMU fitting well in the SBC. JMU vs ULL, JMU vs UL-Monroe, JMU vs Idaho, JMU vs Texas st..,,.
I don't see it.

2. Mizz st is about basketball, not football. Would it be worth to trade a top MBB conference for an awful MBB conference and FBS with schools like UL-Monroe and 1-10 Idaho?

3. Liberty brings unwanted controversy and outside the foot print. It would shock everyone if they got the call.

So maybe Lamar has a shot if only 2 remaining options are Lamar and Jax st. Sam is not ready for fbs. I'm not sure they want it and is lacking in fan support even with their football success.

Jax st would be school number 3 in Alabama in the SBC. Not likely.

Lamar brings another Texas school and the closest option to Houston...1 hour drive.  And it's own media market.

But aren't they getting blown out by their own stronger mid major teams? Maybe a bad PR move for now by playing better and stronger teams.
It is better to get beat 50-17 by a major FBS than to beat Langston 14-0 or risk losing to a sub DI from a PR prospective.
I am right, am I not?  no one expects Lamar to beat Okie st but it would be a PR night mare to lose to a sub DI.

The MWC has a ton of WAC schools.  The Big East has a ton of CUSA schools.  CUSA has a ton Sun Belt schools.  The Sun Belt has a ton of SLC schools.  Give it time, I bet we'll see both LU and SHSU in the Sun Belt in a few years.  But the more conferences change, the more they stay the same.
Will you please stop  linking us with Sam Houston. puuuulease.
I still have my doubts on SHSU wanting to join FBS. It would mean giving up the SHSU vs SFA at Reliant.

The door is nearly shut on Lamar to FBS. If JMU joins the SBC, Lamar will be forever outside FBS. Any new SBC invites will be schools to help out JMU like GMU and Delaware.
That was my point earlier. All the top teams moving out and the lesser teams thought they were moving into a "better" conference

ive said  many times,  i would love for Lamar to go FBS...but i havent heard anything from the university indicating they are wanting to move out of the southland conference.
If Mcneese, SHSU, or SFA was in Lamar's position, those schools would have been gone long ago.
WKU is off to CUSA. Sunbelt will be making a decision soon. I'm worried.

Mcneese is poor, small, in Louisiana. Chuck is Mcneese only real positive. Lamar has everything and more to move BACK up.
yeah , a new stadium and no team. Kinda like buying a new suit and wearing scuffed up old shoes.
