Chester86 Posted April 3, 2013 Report Posted April 3, 2013 GSF traveled to Lafayette and lost 5 - 3. I think we had 7 called 3rd strikes, killing any chance at a come-back.
RuffRaider Posted April 3, 2013 Report Posted April 3, 2013 Chester,How's the bill passed today in the Texas senate that allows home schooled kids to play for UiL teams going to affect your team if it becomes law?Think any of your players will try to play for public schools ?
Chester86 Posted April 3, 2013 Report Posted April 3, 2013 We always live with the fear of losing kids. We are really no different than a small school, and the numbers are always close. We play with kids from 7th to 12th, and I routinely start 2 - 3 7th/8th graders out of necessity. Most people will think this is cheesy, but we truly leave it up to the Lord. As a coach it gets worrisome hoping we have enough kids to participate. I am not real sure about losing them to ISD's, because I do not quite know what all of the parents will think. Our organization has grown exponentially over the past several years, and I know there are a lot of home-schoolers out there who do not know about the opportunity. Hope this answered the question.
