Montgomery-16  Brenham-8  Final

Montgomery collected 18 hits and stormed to a 16-8 victory over homestanding Brenham on Friday night to move into first place in District 18-4A.
The game was tied 7-7 after five innings before the Bears struck for six runs in the top of the sixth.
Montgomery’s Gunner Vaught hit a grand slam to center field in that inning. Vaught had three hits on the night.
The Bears are now 22-4-1 overall and 11-2 in district play, one-half game ahead of the Cubs (20-8, 10-2). It was Brenham’s first loss in 16 games.
