GSF double-header this Saturday

    This Saturday, April 20 the GSF Hornets will play a district double-header at Silsbee LL.  The first game will be against Baton Rouge CHEF (Christian Home-Educated Families / 6-4) at 1230.  The second game is slated for 3 and will be against the CHRISTian Home-School Archangels (8-2).  GSF has only has 3 district games left (including these 2), and has already locked in a playoff berth.  GSF will play a warm-up game against East Texas Christian Academy from Tyler, Texas on the campus of East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas on Thursday, April 25 at 4:30.  Association of Christian Educators (ACE) has quarterfinals on 4/29, semi-finals on 5/2 and the state championship is on 5/4.  The semi-finals and finals will be held in Erath, Louisiana.

GSF won the first game against CHEF Baton Rouge 12 - 5.  Here is the GameChanger narrative:

CHEF Baton Rouge falls 12-5 at the hands of the GSF Hornets

CHEF Baton Rouge had a tough outing on Saturday, as the GSF Hornets dominated in a 12-5 win in seven innings at GSF.

The GSF Hornets scored five runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Luke Lozoya, a two-run single by Conner Stevens, and a two-run error.

Stevens racked up four RBIs on three hits for the GSF Hornets.

Daniel Bean picked up the win for the GSF Hornets. Daniel Bean allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out nine over seven innings of work.

The GSF Hornets never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring three runs on two ground outs and a walk by Stevens.

GSF won the second game against CHRISTian Home School 17 - 3.  Here is the narrative from Game Changer:
The GSF Hornets blew out Christian Home School 17-3 on Saturday at GSF after pouring on nine runs in the fourth inning.

Shane Standley racked up three RBIs on two hits for the GSF Hornets. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Christian Home School couldn't get anything going as long as Luke Lozoya was pitching. Luke Lozoya held Christian Home School hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Matthew Moore got the win for the GSF Hornets. He allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered three hits.

The GSF Hornets went up for good in the second, scoring five runs on an RBI double by Shane Standley, a two-run error, an RBI single by Aaron Standley, and an RBI triple by Moore.

The GSF Hornets added three more runs in the bottom of the third. A passed ball scored Conner Stevens for the inning's first run.
