West Brook girls soccer squad plays today

The West Brook girls soccer team will play its first game since a bus accident killed two players last spring in a tournament Thursday in Kingwood.

The team concludes its scrimmage schedule at 5 p.m. today against Hardin-Jefferson at Alex Durley Stadium.

The first regular season game is in a three-day tournament at Kingwood that begins Thursday.

West Brook will play Atascocita at noon Thursday and Cypress-Fairbanks at 6 p.m. Friday, both at Turner Stadium in Humble. The Bruins will play Clements at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingwood High School.

West Brook's first home game is Feb. 2, also against Atascocita in a District 21-5A match.

West Brook has not played a game since a bus accident March 29 on Highway 90 left two players dead and caused another player to lose an arm.

The team will wear patches with the Nos. 12 and 25 to memorialize Alicia Bonura and Ashley Brown, the girls who died in the accident.
