From my understanding OF and Buna both have 6 wins. OF has beat Buna twice which gives them the tie breaker according to district rules. Now, if OF can best BC tomorrow there will be no need for the tie breaker.

Doesn't this win clinch the 3rd spot for OF?

No

Maybe I have the records wrong but isn't Buna 6-6 and finished district play. OF is 6-5 and plays BC tomorrow. If OF gets beat by BC they would be 6-6 but will have beat Buna twice so OF advances based on head to head?

Thanks to a couple of friends of mine I have been able to see a copy of 21-3A district rules.  Here is what the rules say:

Method of Determining Championship Rule B
-Should there be a two-way tie (defeated each other) there would be a one game playoff.  The winner would be declared district champion.  In case of a two way tie percentage wise, the team with the best record between the two will be declared the district champion and the other team the district runner up.  This process will also be used to determine the runner up in case of a tie for second place.

Rule D
The third place team will be determined in the same manner as the champion and runner up.

Now to the Buna and Orangefield situation.
Buna has finished the season at 6-6.
Orangefield is currently 6-5 with a game vs BC.
If Orangefield beats BC they finish the season at 7-5.
If Orangefield loses to BC, they finish the season at 6-6.
This would tie Buna and Orangefield for 3rd.
Orangefield would win the 3rd playoff spot due to head to head record.

I hope this clears everything up.

Thanks!  Both KOGT and The Orange Leader are saying OF has clinched. Orange Leader is saying OF plays Tarkington next week in the 1st round of the playoffs.

2nd and 3rd place from 22-3A has not been decided yet.
Shepherd vs Splendora and possibly Coldspring vs Huffman, both on Friday night have a bearing on the 2nd and 3rd place representatives.
Tarkington- needs a Shepherd win to be 2nd place team.
Splendora- needs to beat Shepherd to tie Tarkington for 2nd and force playoff.
Shepherd- needs to beat Splendora to either be 3rd place alone or part of a 3 way tie.
Coldspring- needs to beat Huffman and have Shepherd beat Splendora to force 3 way tie.

Clear as mud
