Since you have to essentially beat every team to win the title, why are you so concerned about the pool?  Hj won it last year and the year before, so they obviously beat teams that beat every other team in each pool.  As for the pooling of teams, I am not aware of any school that hosts a tournament that doesn't try to give the host a good chance of advancing to the semis.

Nothing wrong with a little home cooking......It's also more profitable at the gate if home team plays later in the evening when possible....bigger crouds at night if home team is playing...which means more money and more concessions sold.......I should charge for this info...  ;D

::) Its called beating up on each other. The stronger teams battle each other and by the time one reaches the finals, they are too beaten up and tired to beat [s][s]HJ[/s][/s] errr.. their opponent from the weaker pool schedule.  ;D
I don't believe that 16-18 year old kids have much problem with being beaten up and tired playing 3 or 4 games over a three day period.

Three seasons ago, HJ lost a pool game to Cayuga and then wound up beating them in the finals.  Very high quality 2-a entrants in the upcoming tourney.  Try something else
And 70 years ago my 4-A team beat 4-A CY Fair in the Jaycee Tourney. And Cy Fair won State that year.
