One word ...CHAMPAGNE.  Going to be soooo sweet this year.
haha either to toast the championship or drown the constant drumming MBG is going to give you... hahahaha
Oh he's gonna need to check into rehab after their 1st round exit at the hands of Nederland or Central.  ;)
How would that work out?
When Central makes the playoffs this year that bumps Vidor down to D2.

yeah. there are 3 schools that are bigger than vidor. central ned and png. if two of those 3 make the playoffs then vidor goes d2.

IF SC can play some solid defense, Nederland doesn't have a prayer. SC's offense is sizing up to be effective passing and running PLUS we have a more than mobile QB.  We'll see how the O Line performs.

I've never seen Central play. I'll take ur word for it

Central is more athletic, but Ned is a better team.

Hmmmm?  Am curious to see if Ned can muster any offense this year.  If their offense improves they could be scary.  I assume Ned is well coached too. My biggest knocks on Ned is they don't seem to be good defending the pass and they don't score a lot of points.  If they face an offense w/ the ability to throw and score quickly, sounds like certain death for Ned.  They're not gonna win a shoot out (if their team this year is similar to last year).

This team is going to be different.. A lot more mobility this year. Going to see the spread on offense a lot more. Offense is going to be their strong suit this year. Ned will ALWAYS be well coached.

Had Ned played GT in the 1st round or at any point prior to the 3rd round, they were going HOME.  And yes, same could be said for SC. But SC would have beat Ned through the air.

These are the reasons i think ned will have a big drop off this year. Michael shaw,Seth barrow,Carson raines,Jordan wood.Korbin stampley,Brock pryor, Koby couron. There were 14 other seniors on this team but these are the ones that imo will be most missed.
Garrity is riding Ned's horse, but with the loss of those key seniors ...and even with them they got a beat down from GT ...I agree Ned is dropping down this year.  Garrity will say (like a trained parrot) that SC got a beat down from GT too, BUT SC is bringing back a few key Seniors on offense and a few more that will be on the highlight reel.

So do you at the buffet ...lol!  Ned may do well in district, but they lost too much to be a serious contender this year.  Next year should be a good one for them IF they can find the endzone.

I think the old adage fits here better than anything else...

Defense wins championships.... best example that shows you need a good Defense to compete... Summer Creek... even with the offense you had when you ran into a defense you lost... you couldn't stop them and they stopped you...

No doubt that those guys will be tough to replace, it's always hard replacing talent like that.
But Krautz is FAST (making up Shaw's speed), Seay has size and speed (Seth didn't too much have size), White will be a drop off from Raines, but he will still be good, Healthy Mayfield may be better than both Stampley and Wood, Washington is replacing Pryor size up the middle.

Don't believe Ned won a championship with their defense last year.  Defense is vital, but you need offense too.  A good defense can look bad if their offense can't sustain drives.  They wear out.  Had Ned been able to sustain offense and avoid turnovers, they could have beat GT ...and yes, their defense would have been the key.

you said it in a nutshell right there.... the Defense didn't lose that game... they got left on a short porch a few times due to turnovers... now  you can also say that the Defense for GTown was better because they did shutdown Ned's Offense and GTowns Offense capitalized on it.... something to be said about leaving a good defense with its heels on the goal line... Vidor did the same thing against SC and SC made them pay for it... Same thing happened to Vidor against Angleton the year before... we went in leading at half time had 2 turnovers inside our own 20 and Angleton punched both in the next play.... Short Porch and Defense is like oil and water... it just don't mix...

They did score well during the the first 3/4 of the season.  I stand corrected.  They slowed down significantly during the last four games.  Did a key player get hurt?

So..  averaging 30 points per game in 2012 no longer qualifies you as "scoring a lot of points"?    ???

They did score well during the the first 3/4 of the season.  I stand corrected.  They slowed down significantly during the last four games.  Did a key player get hurt?

their last 4 season games saw a combined 165 pts scored and only 26 allowed.

Show some respect for a better football program than SC. If you knew any better you would know NED just reloads.

True ...turnovers kill.  GT's defense was good, but they weren't devastating.  They allowed SC to march the field a few times. With GT's size advantage, they really should have held SC more.  Had SC ran the ball consistently ...the game could have been closer.  Ford was throwing on almost every down looking panicked/desperate.  Instead, we should have ran the ball more and allowed things to develop.  You can't give the ball back to a team like GT after quick 3 and outs.  SC was used to playing from a (big) lead.  Can't recall any regular season game where they had to play from behind.

I'm talking into the playoffs.  I got 66 points for Ned.  Opponents = 74.  Also, they only scored 21 on DAYTON.  They had to be resting starters.

Our offense was not meant to put 50 on the board each week. It was meant to drain the clock, keep the defense off the field, and wear out the opposing defense. You don't need to average 50 a game to be a good offense. Our "bad" offense went to the 4th round while SC "amazing" offense only went two.

    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
