Silsbee's National Teams are coached by a fellow classemated of mine and he has been braging to me about the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams for a few months. I hear they have 5-6 sure fire studs in that group. I wish them nothing but the best and lets bring home 2-3 rings.
::) Two words ..................JACK YATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D
Yep, Jack Yates.  However, when the aforementioned Silsbee kids are in high school, Jack Yates will be back in 4-a and someone else will be concerned about their acquisition program (even though I would take the Silsbee 7th and 8th graders over whatever Yates has in the same grade right now
Maybe I should have kept the article in the Houston Chronicle stating how Yates' student population is dwindling.  ;D  Most kids from Yates go across town to attend Lamar High. Been happening for years. Sorry Silsbee & HJ
There has been a few football players that made their way to Lamar.  ;)

If Silsbee has Chris Elam back next year for all sports then Silsbee very well could win district again. Michael McCain is a very good player but how good? Pat Reed will be down low and Zayon Jacskson will run point guard. I know serveral players on JV and varsity are going to be better. I look for Silsbee to finish 2nd in district behind WOS. I do expect Silsbee to get to the Regional Tourney again.

Silsbee will have a rough year next year but, the classes of 15'-19', Will be State contenders for sure. Silsbee has about 4 decent sophmores this year. And of course Dontre Thomas and Tre Grubbs in the 16' class. Silsbee has a bright future. (15'-19')

These kids may be great, and they may in fact be as successful as you guys are prediciting and hopefully so, but a lot can happen between now and then that has nothing to do with Jack Yates High.  There are a multitude of "can't miss" prospects that never made it for various reasons!  Sigler will have to do more than be a good coach to shepperd this group all the way through.

I dont think all the loses in Silsbee"s playoffs can be pointed at Joe. You think?

I dont think he was referring to any of Silsbees playoff losses.  They have plenty of playoff wins as well.  If you are going to blame a coach for the losses, he must get credit for the wins and I am pretty confident their playoff record is better than most.

little dribblers, hahaha man that was the best talent they played well the kids must have change because when they came to Beaumont three of the Beaumont middle schools beat them, and remember Beaumont has 7 middle schools so if we played them with all our kids on one team I think we would have won the great little dribblers tournament also.

All the kids that played for Silsbee didn't play school ball this year. They would CRUSH all Beaumont school just as we have on the varsity level for the past several years.

I just watched your Allstar team play Silsbee in the finals of one of those divisions (I think it was the 8 and 9 year olds) and Silsbee won that game at the Nationals in Canton.

you beat Central the first game after the football players returned to the team and LEE played them that cost him the 3 pt lost, and Beaumont kids well the better ones play aau ball not little dribblers, but no disrespect Silsbee has great ball players but your state championships or few and I don't remember how many d-1 ball players you guys have but your district will keep you thinking you or good

Silsbee beat Central with Silsbee still in the football playoffs. Silsbee put a 3/4 JV team on the court that day against Central varsity.
