BigTuna Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 New Caney was great and the people there really help to make it an expoerience for the kids. What are some other opinions.
Ty Cobb Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I will agree with you on New Caney. Lamar is a good experience also. I would like to play in Huntsville at SHSU's new park.
techsan17 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Based on some of my experiences, these are my favorites in TexasLamar University-when the Regional is on the line between 2 teams from the same district, this place is awesome. Lufkin-Great playing surface, but not a lot of room for fans...Astrodome-just getting an opportunity to play there was great...especially getting a win..Minute Maid Park-Getting to dress in the astros locker room was cool, especially getting to "leave" with some MLB stuff...people were extremely helpful and riding an elevator with Craig Biggio was a surprise..U of H-great ballpark and its pretty neat to hit bombs into the McDonalds parking lotTCU-great renovations, but i loved it when the centerfield wall was a concrete ramp...CF has to have balls to go all out onto that thingOlsen-great playing surface and always clean..Disch-too large for high school games....if that fence was a little shorter in center i woulda had a bomb Dan Law- great hitters ballpark...Pitchers ERA averages a run higherBaylor-very nice field and even nice facade
shsucat Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Sam Houston new field! It's big!!!!!!!!
Guest Orangeboy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 BUNA, No Doubt would be a great place to play a playoff game, they have the best field in the state bar none.
Ty Cobb Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 BUNA, No Doubt would be a great place to play a playoff game, they have the best field in the state bar none. ;D Orangeboy is at it again. It must be baseball season. See you in Waco.
meat Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Used to be the dome...now, probably Lufkin or LU.
baseball_1989 Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Nederland for sure. I havent seen it since the summer, but if/when they finish everything, its gonna be awesome.

Lucky Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 I vote LAMAR.............I have not seen New Caney but Lamar is closer for sure and I like that.
AshlyHasBeen Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Lamar is great but only when the sun has gone all the way down. I hate playing there late in the afternoon when the sun is setting. It's lucky a 3rd baseman hasn't been killed. Last summer a guy hit a line drive past me and all I did was hear a buzz past my ear.
hjhawks Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 LufkinSHSUBaylorGREAT FIELDS!The neatest place I have ever played has to be in Victoria. It was an OLD OLD OLD minor league park, that was refurbished forthe high schools to use.
Coach 18 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 The Woodlands is a great place to play! It would have to be tops on my list!http://www.wlehmann.com/Twhs/

utguy09 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I think that Montgomerys field has got to be one of the nicest highschool fields in texas, the grass is like carpet and the dirt is always perfect! You could eat of the infield
