Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Give him a good QB and a "QB" for his Secondary and that fire in a bottle might just happen sooner rather than later.
mytwocents-28 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Now the question is does this affect the possible playoff spot for 20-4A??

DVILLE-GORILLA Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 If Larry makes any difference at all in Ltown, Ill trade my Big Red Dshirt in on a baby blue golf visor! Good luck anyway Raiders!
Sportsilove2 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Attention to the lumberton high school parents Y'all managed to run off the last AD & Head football coach we had . Now we have the Larry Haynes let just see if you all can keep your mouths shut and let this man coach he will change the face of lumberton athletics like its never seen before and your kids can be apart of this so parents please do your kids a favor and try not to complain and whine about every decision he makes as a coach because you don't like it. enough with the politics. Lets just see if we can let these kids enjoy this part of their lives. Good luck to our new AD /Head football coach Larry Haynes and the Athletes of lumberton high school. Now Its time to build the legacy of lumberton athletics
AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 This looks like a great hire for lumberton. Haynes has a long track record of winning, and also some exciting offensive football. The previous post was dead on. Get behind this man and tell your kids to also get behind him and the success will follow.
Sportsilove2 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 to the parents of lumberton high school. I want you to know that I do not in any way mean to disrespect you and the way you raise your kids but I have live in lumberton for over 30 years and I have seen some of the best athletes in this area come through lumberton school district that are just as athletic as any other athletes of the surrounding high schools and they have had little to no support from their peers, coaches, & community and I truly believe with coach Haynes as lumberton's new AD things can change and now its time to build a sports program at lumberton with some pride and it starts with Us the parents yes I do have kids that go to lumberton schools
Sportsilove2 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 One more thing to the parents of Lumberton school district when you are mad and angry because things aren't going the way you think they should and you are tempted to go to the school and complain about how the coaches don't like your kid and that they are being miss treated. Please before you are tempted just think to yourself WWBWD " WHAT WOULD BENCHWARMER DO". Love BENCHWARMER
Sportsilove2 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 To a new beginning for The Lumberton Sports program good luck Goodnight & love to all THE END

H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Does anyone remember his stop in Hardin? Average at best, one good year I believe. Lumberton and Hardin football programs have both struggled over the majority of there existence. Both have won only 35-40 percent of their total all time games. So what do people really expect Haynes to do in Lumberton? ???
smitty Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Why did he leave Lumberton the first time? What was his record during his first tenure?
Guest basketball2012 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 http://www.hardinisd.net/education/components/docmgr/default.php?sectiondetailid=3869&http://www.hardinisd.net/education/components/docmgr/default.php?sectiondetailid=3870&Seems to me he did good at Hardin.
badndn Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 His first go round in ltown was back when they dropped down to 3A for a few years. Did pretty well. Only two made playoffs and I think they finished 3rd one year, but it was tight. HF was dominating that district then and OF had Granger. Only issue I see with Haynes is that he wont be there long enough to make a real difference. He has a track record of moving around alot and he is up there in age now. Seldom, if ever, does it pan out when you bring back someone from the past. Think Billy Tubbs at LU! It was ok, but not what folks had hoped for.
Guest basketball2012 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Fannett and newton was in same district and both were 1 and 2 in the state.
TradinUp BH Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 If I was a Lumberton resident, I would of been hoping for a young energetic coach to build a program. Hope it works out for them with this hire. Nothing against Haynes, but just don't see a big upgrade.
HIGHpoint96 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 A young energetic coach will use lumberton as a stepping stone, in and out if hes successful. Just like Haynes did when he was young and energetic and left to go to 5A Clear Lake.
ispeakjive Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 With all due respect to Coach Haynes, this sure looks like a placeholder-type hire. Bring in an older, respected guy to right the ship and upgrade things a bit and then try to attract someone in two or three years that will hopefully be a long-term solution. I'm not criticizing, and that may be what the situation called for, but that is how this looks from the outside.
